The thought never crossed my mind that Tillman was using Dalton to get rid of Wesley but it makes sense. However, that doesn't make him the bad guy. Just a bit shrewd, I guess. He heard about Dalton's moral standards and his sense of justice through his work in Memphis. That was the real reason why he didn't want Wade Garret. Because he wouldn't give a shit about Wesley, not because he was too old.
No, he was not the villain; he may have used Dalton as a pawn to help eliminate Wesley, but Wesley was the villain b/c had he not been a tyrant then Tighe's character never would have needed to recruit Dalton. Kind of like The Magnificant Seven...the villagers never would have recruited Brynner and the group had Wallach not been attacking them. So, what Tighe's character did here is essentially the same thing; he just wasn't as forthcoming about his entire intentions upfront.
Interesting theory and it makes sense - if Wesley had such control over the town, the DD would never be successful as long as he was alive. So why would you spend money on improving the place? Dalton was ready to leave because he saw it was a lost cause, the DD probably would have been a pile of ash within a month. But with Wesley and his men gone, different story.
@@paulmeaden5731 yeah but only so profitable - he didn't want the owner getting any ideas. Look at the damage he did to other businesses there that he also had an interest in. He wanted them to be profitable but only to a point because he needed to maintain control.
Like any western the town needed the lone gunfighter to rip through town, there was only one figurehead bad guy, as usual one that wanted to own everything and rule over everyone. Same scenario in so many movies
He was never the villain, a king made his move checkmate by putting his cards on the table. The other hand Wesley wanted a full house & everything that came along with it but did it crook it because he lost but wanted more, tillman did it correctly & knew what the outcome was gonna be.
That doesn't make him a villain. It ain't like Tillman set Dalton to go after an innocent, if anyone deserves some Killin, it was Brad Wesley. 'Sides, ain't like Dalton wasn't compensated handsomely for his efforts
Dear Sir or ma'am I edited out all the scenes just so you can just see his face and his reactions so you can see how he's always looking suspicious from the very beginning to the very end especially when the guy dies pay attention when the murder the bad guy and he's just being very suspicious just look at him
After a long career as a Paramedic with LA County, he decided to move to MO and buy a bar.....

Yeah, judging on how willing Wade was to walk away, he viewed it as just a job, nothing to lose your life over

How can anyone trust this face lol
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this movie and I never thought of it until now but that would’ve made a great twist
Jasper, MO is about 2 hours from Kansas City. Not what I would call “just outside “. I knew he was sus right then.

Wesley made money grom the double deuce . It was in his interest to ensure it was profitable

Not gonna lie… when I’ve watched this recently, there’s some subtle hints that he’s the true villain.
Well Tighe was the villain in "Matewan."
No, Kevin Tighe was smart and needed someone to clean up more than the bar.
Kevin Tighe/Frank Tillman was playing 4d chess.
And won as in checkmate😂❤
He bought the double deuce after he threw John Locke out of a window.

The real villain in Road House is the lack of empathy for your fellow man…… 😂😂😂😂😂😂
See he also gave rampart general hospital patients
Hard to believe the guy from Emergancy was a bad guy !!!😂😂

No he was a good guy. Look how he and Red and others came to Dalton"s aid
I'm just saying he knew what he was doing the whole entire time
Well, he didn't come to Dalton's aid per say, he came to end Brad Wesley. I've thought about this myself, it's trading one evil for another.
Now was this before he had a son that crashed onto a mysterious island?
Stole his son's kidney.
This movie has been severely cut up for tv
Voice over incorrectly mentioned the movie year as 1998 when it is actually 1989
Hey I was doing it for my head okay don't bully me LOL and I know I was watching when I watched it I was like 10
Secret service ahh post
That should’ve been the sequel that he was the bad guy and then Dalton had to stop him. I don’t know.
That was what happened in 48hrs.. Remember in part 2 Jack Cates partner Ben was actually the drug kingpin..
@@00ghostcobra yes I think so
