Just a tip; use thermofit instead electrical tape and secure the wires with a zip tie, even though you are not soldering the wires.(Sometimes the electrical tape gets damaged in hot environments)
Soldering wires is always the best way to go and you'll prevent bad connections in long term.
Great videos btw, I've learned a lot!! Greetings!!

i actualy had big problems with mounting an aftermaket. It's a blaupunkt which had a perfect match with my back plugs from the 99golf but the big problem was that after i switched off my car it looses memory and it will allways start from the first song from the playlist... it was awfull and i startet hating that song :)). it also could not start when the key was not in the egnition. thats when i found a schematic on internet which showed me how to move a pin in the plug from 0 to allways conected to the batery. problem solved. (this was just to show other golf fanatics how to) Keep on the good work!

Also......People who do not understand cars and electrical very well need to be informed that it is smart to put more than one ground wire to avoid the possibility of clipping.. Thousands of people have come to me asking why their new radio (That they installed theirself) clips and sounds weird when driving...and every time I pull the unit out and it has only been grounded once...I throw in a second and it fixes it. Also sometimes there is not enough room in the dash for the wires and the radio to slide in....So helping them in how to properly move the wires and harness box out of the way so they do not cram the radio in and hurt the wires is smart also. When it comes to cars...being ridiculously detail oriented is the best way to go.

5153john not very likely in interior wiring. I did it in many cars and never had a problem but when I became a professional mechanic I realized it looks cleaner and you don't have to worry about when you do it right. I do it the heat shrinking butt connector way. Soldering makes wires brittle

I'm looking at MAYBE replacing the head unit of my MK1 Ford Focus. It's kinda weird, because it's a 1,5 din as far as I can tell. So here comes the question(s):
Is it really 1.5 din, or is it a 2 din, and I'm blind?
Should I get a 1 din and a cage that holds it in place, or should I find a 1,5 din head unit? Do those even exist?
If all I want is a way to plug usb into it AND a 3.5mm jack as aux in, is it ok to buy the cheapest thing Kenwood or Alpine sells? Are those "good enough"?

yo +milanmastracci can you do a video about heel-toe shifting using a diesel car, i'm just curious on what would be the outcome. ps diesel has a heavier gas pedal

+paul loper well, for some cars yes. now, for me, in the philippines i own a toyota Innova (or Kijang in some countries). yes i can rev-match but heel-toe shifting by just tapping the throttle? i doubt it though.

Nice install, but the twisting and taping to connect the wires cave me cancer. When you buy a quality headunit, please spend some time doing quality soldering.
