Is Castlevania good?
If u liked castlevania you will defently like dragon blood its so good and they are the same studio as this one
@@obinnaokonkwo131 Yes. The show looks beautiful and similar to the trailer seen here if not better. A lot of characters are amazing. I won't say everyone are fleshed out, but there are a lot of heart felt moments for certain characters and some have great character development. Season 2 and 3 are pretty heavy in dialogues with few fight. Battles usually appear in the beginning and end of season, but the show made up for it by having spectacular fight choreography lasting for 2 or 3 episodes as everyone used their weapons and abilities seen in the game. Season 4 have more fights and the scope of these fights gets grander than the last. I heavily recommend seeing the show. It has 4 seasons and the first season only has 4 episode and hooks you into the show immediately.

@@DHWOW So? What's that got to do with anything? Don't bring you incipit whining over here with that nonsense.
@@Gadget-Walkmen It's out. And it's definitely better than masters of the universe but still they made some changes with the lore (book and game lore too). At least the animations are really good (far better than in Blood of Zeus). So at this point I really don't know who's the target audiance with this franchise. But I guess it doesn't matter at all. The title will sell anything. 7/10 (because it looks cool and the flashback scenes were actually interesting) and I'm REALLY sceptical about the upcoming "origin" story.
@@kovacsbenjamin7960 I’m pretty sure it’s following the lore from the show that’s it’s made itself tie to. Not the game nor book.

This looks so similar to Castelvania with multiple of the same voice actors. Castelvania made expectations so high and I’m ready for this to deliver!
I thought I heard some of the same voice actors that were in castlevania.
@Domagoj Čović
Notice how no one agrees with you.
@Domagoj Čović I agree with this guy, personally. Tried to watch it cause one of my best friends loves it, but the dialogue was jus exposition after exposition. Highlight was Dracula talking to Isaac about the first time they met... "Remember when we first met? What did I first say to you..." then "Ah yes, but do *you* remember what *I* said to you?"
the animation style in this is pretty different from Castelvania..looks better tbh.
@@jakecassar6554 I guess there are people out there like you who's looking for something different. But in actuality the dialogues has become one of the show's strengths, there's a Wisecrack episode about Castlevania anti-narratives dialogue and why it works (at least for the general population)
This is a review from a non-Witcher viewer (never seen the show) , but a fan of animation.
I was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with this movie. The writing was superb and mature. The animation was OUTSTANDING, it greatly exceeded my expectations (I'm usually skeptical whenever a title says "A NETFLIX ORIGINAL ANIME..." since there has been more duds than studs), but NETFLIX actually picked the right team to bring this project to Life.
Very well done and highly recommended movie.
NETFLIX peeps, if you're watching, keep funding 2D animation please!!
Exactly I like Chainsaw man for example but the CGI is a big turnoff, the way they kept the woke away was also refreshing, simple concepts such as teleportation were amazingly handled and the movie felt both like a journey and like a contrived story.
A lot of heart, work and love were put onto this movie you can tell.
Been watching over the Xmas period - The art direction, animation and attention to detail is absolutely stunning. The artists really deserve a lot of praise
He only has a Silver Sword, Kinda tells you how The time Period is different from the one we see Geralt in.
Very good eye for detail! I would think it was steel, but then I remember how Vesemir always extolled the virtue of a silver sword 'at your side' to his apprentices.
Nice catch! Very interesting thing to consider
Right, cause we don't see Witchers facing an angry mob of people...
Beside it might take place right during the Witcher's purge, so no, the times are WORSE than during Geralt's one.
@@devilsadvocate2643 said the times were different, Didn’t say they were better.
It's a slap in the face of the actual book lore. "Silver is for monsters, steel for humans" is a stupid line from the videogames which doesn't actually line up with the book lore. In the books Geralt explains that both are for monsters. Some monsters are vulnerable to silver, others to meteorite steel. It has to be meteorite steel, regular steel doesn't do much to monsters. That's why witchers carry a silver sword and a meteorite steel sword.
Edit: I'm not hating on the games btw, the devs had a good reason to simply it for ease of gameplay, and at least in the Witcher 1 the steel swords are actually made of meteorite. But there is no reason for the anime to go with the game lore, since it's based on the books and the Netflix show, not the games.

1:46 I’m more interested in what the hell happened to that guy than anything else in this trailer tbh lol
This looks nothing like a Leshy. And why would an ancient spirit of the forest need to wear a cloak?
@@zamaskowany12 Leshy/Leshen in general is a powerful forest spirits & they can polymorph. If we are talking about the game series, Some Leshens actually do wear a bit of ragged textiles clothes, probably from victims, so this is actually normal imo. Hence why it also used animal skulls as masks or other accessories.
We even have a much more human looking one, a more relic intelligent one, like Spriggan.
If we talk about the og design, Leshy even looks like a mix forest chimera between giant wildcat & bear. Again, powerful spirits who can polymorphs & have forest summoning powers.
That part with the that vet casting a sign makes no sense. In literal translation, signs are called "gestures", because they are cast with a gesture. He wouldn't be able to do that without palm and fingers.
@@Miestwin To my knowledge, in theory, Magic signs developed from basic elemental magic runes, it was a ground breaking stuffs in magic techs. This is why people who have little to no talent in magic AKA Witchers able to cast magic via the signs. This is mattered a lot since Witchers are mutants who have a big pool of mana but consists of people with no prior knowledge about magic nor talent for it.
SIgns itself more about the symbol or pattern, not the gestures itself. Gestures are one of the ways, a quick simply easy way for Witchers to conjure basic magic.

We’re entering a new era of animation bois. Everything will look like anime now 👌
Yeah, and everything is gonna be shitty anime style low fps animations. Once 24 fps was the standard. Anime feels like it has at least halved this number. Choppy and stuttery and uuuuugly. I miss those wonderful high quality Don Bluth style animations. You know, the ones where characters had actual lip sync where mouth movements matched what they were saying, and where they moved like living beings, not like chonky robots.
No.
@@Oozaru85 do you not understand how animation works? not everything has to be 24 fps. Not everything has to be 60fps. Anime is often at a lower frame rate for stylistic reasons and to help emphasize the exaggerated facial expressions. Crazy shit that you see in anime only works because the frames that derive focus are 3-4 frames. Look at Pain vs. Naruto for reference. 48fps can look really bad. I just love this type of anime: no Guns, no cars, no cities, only horses, swords, woods and creepy things
Sameeeee
Its not an anime but oh well
@Kraze Ik
its not anime dope
Netflix has been throwin out some bangers when it comes to animated series, this looks like another good one.
Forget castlevania for now, we got the iconic bath scene lol😂🍺
An animated show with Geralt will also be cool. Maybe some of his adventures that we haven't seen in the game or live action series.
1:16 Is this an attack on Kaer Morhen?
1:25 yo nemesis come back to resident evil universe.😂
1:25 yo nemesis, Why so thin, Are you eating right, Grandma is worried sick
I loved it. Hopefully more in the future.
Looks amazing, my only regret so far is that it's not the series but only a small movie(
This look great, i can't wait 😁
So yes, I have been counting days till it's release now, excited
This was a wonderful movie young Vesemir
Who ever created the witcher and was its author is a real genius and a blessing to our world
Andrzej Sapkowski m8
polish writer
The live-action should've been animated. This is gorgeous!
After watching this. I WISH this was a series. I hope this movie can lead into being a series just like castlevania. I loved this !!!!
Vesemir is clearly Trevor Belmont lol
This series has such Castlevania vibes that I already love it
It seems like the animation team who designed Castlevania is behind this too.
Nope, Castlevania is Powerhouse Studios, this is Studio Mir.
and similarily iffy voice acting....
Annnd you are wrong
As always
loser
@@ChceTok3ny ok, zoomer.
castlevanias animation is choppy and low fps.. this one doesn't look like it
Glad I get to see papa Vesemir's story. Still can't get over his death.
Just finished watching this film. Outstanding from start to finish! 10/10 recommend this to anyone and more to the witcher fans.
it's gonna be EPIC!
Looks like something I can watch while waiting for the next Castlevania series obviously I love Castlevania more but I love the Witcher too
@//// bro they are doing a spinoff featuring Richter Belmont and Maria Reynard
Yeah they announced that shortly after they said season 4 was the last season definitely looking forward to that
Geralt : WITCHERS!
me: assemble
*Just give some praise to Studio mir for giving back to back hit anime*
I feel like it's so rare for us to get "serious" types of stories in the form of traditional animation (outside of Japanese animation, that is). It's almost always comedies or, at best, dramadies. It's such a shame serious dramatic animation isn't popular eneough for us to get full length series with stuff like this. Hopefully this is at least popular enough get a miniseries.
Like Invincible?
@@flumph1152 Funny you mention that, I literally just got Amazon Prime and binged the entire first season of that show over the past couple days. It's EXACTLY the kind of show I want way more of.
Castlevania was amazing..and we are getting a spin off soon
This was so perfect😍 I can't believe it, what did I Just Watch! I didn't know they could do serious films like the the old days. This movie captured the witcher world so perfectly, these guys are talented
Heavy metal batman and spawn must be a joke...🤔
saw it late, made me tear up. i'll rate it a 10/10
GORGEOUS Animation.
& the Voices are on spot.
Kudos Netflix.🍻✨👏🏼👏🏼
I already want a sequel
