Thanks for taking the time and giving the Rio Bravo the love it deserves! I absolutely love mine but it is a task to find anything video or written that does the gun justice! Cheers.
I grew up on Daisy lever action BB guns, so that's definitely nostalgic. I own this and a Henry in .22. Henry is definitely nicer looking in the traditional sense, but the Rio Bravo is lighter and the sights are easier to adjust for windage. And man, after the day I had I'm definitely looking forward to some plinking therapy in the near future! A chair in the shade, some steel targets, a brick of 22, a Rio Bravo and nothing else to do all day sounds real good.
Damn Matt it looks like you have a lot of pea shooters on the wall. And I absolutely love your shirt and agree as I’m an addict also! lol but on a serious note I would like to have a lever action to add to my collection,, I can’t make up my mind on either a CZ bolt action.22 or a Henry.22 magnum I would love to get both I guess I will eventually find out. Thanks for shooting and showing your Rossi
Hey Robert, thanks man! Can't have too many pea shooters haha. Those are 2 great options you're thinking about. I'd recommend getting both of course but if I had to choose which one to get first, I'd definitely go with the Henry 22mag lever action. Especially over the 22lr, if you have the choice I always prefer the 22mag 👍
@@AmattEUR Thanks for the suggestion , As nice as CZ is one of the many reasons I want a .22 mag rifle is because after I bought a HHR and a Wrangler shooting the mag cylinder in my Rough Rider let’s me know how much power I’m losing because of the shorter barrel although the Maxi Mags do pretty good I can’t wait to see what a rifle will do. Have a good afternoon and I’m glad you were suggested to me and that I clicked
@@robertharing7031 that's really nice of you to say, I appreciate it. I love the 22mag and will probably do a video on one of the guns I have chambered in it. It really performs well out of an 18-22" barrel.
Why not try a milsurp .22 rifle? The MAS45 is a really nice bolt action, clip fed, and very accurate French .22lr trainer. I bought mine and when it arrived it looked as new-unfired, great wood and zero handling dings. It has a nice heavy target barrel and I'm told that it's accurate enough to compete with if you so desire. Not too bad for a few Benjamins. That message on the tee-shirt was so true. The 22lr IS a gateway drug. Get good with a .22 and you'll want to graduate to the big boys, but the love of .22s never goes away. Now I have a Mossberg M44US, a Savage MkII, the MAS 45 and a Henry 001 lever gun. I was never really interested in .22s, but after the first one, I was hooked. The really great thing about .22s is that you get lots of trigger time for not a lot of money, and you can concentrate on the basics of marksmanship without anticipating the recoil and the flinching,-and shooting the expensive ammo in the centerfire guns.
Thank you! It's a somewhat custom job. I dremeled the bottom of a small rail section to fit on the barrel where the rear sight was. But I think Monstrum makes a Ruger 1022 sectional mount that may line up with the screw holes. Just not 100% sure.
Thanks for the video!! I picked up mine this morning and already took it out shooting. Love this little plinker! Is that your wife? She’s gorgeous! 👍🏼👍🏼 to you bud!
Thanks man, I appreciate it! That little plinker is great. Fun, cheap and simple, just like my wife. Just kidding, she's not my wife. But she is the love of my life...after my gun collection of course 😉
Probably not. Dry firing 22 isn't recommended due to their more brittle firing pins. But Henry claims you can dry fire their lever guns. I personally dry fire my Rio Brovo from time to time but don't go crazy. If in doubt a #4 7/8 drywall anchor works great as a snap cap.
Any modular 10/22 mount should work, monstrum is just the only one I've seen that is 2 pieces instead of one. Happy plinking! monstrumtactical.com/ruger-10-22-modular-picatinny-rail-mounting-set-includes-front-and-rear-section/
Nice, glad you got the rifle. It's a great plinker. Take off the rear site and I would recommend trying this monstrum mount. Then use the rear sight screws to attach the mount. I use a pinty $30 red dot but there's tons of great cheap red dots out there monstrumtactical.com/ruger-10-22-modular-picatinny-rail-mounting-set-includes-front-and-rear-section/
How does the detent work on that Bravo? When it is in the cocked ready to fire position is it easy for the cock lever to drop open? Does the detent hold it closed? Mine that I just bought this month if you just flick the lever when it is in the ready to fire position it will drop down, a design flaw. I looked at the same Bravo new at our local it does the same thing. It should not drop open that easy. How is yours?
Hi, my Bravo's detent is fine. I just checked it because it's not something I've noticed before. It is definitely easier for the lever to drop when cocked than decocked but hasn't unwantingly fallen down during shooting, like I said I haven't noticed it before. Sorry to hear yours is having this problem, it's a really fun gun. Perhaps something isn't tight enough on yours, maybe you can send it into Rossi if it's a big problem but that's always kind of a headache.
@@AmattEUR Thank-you for the reply back, I did send it back to rossi, I was just gathering from as many owners as I could to see if this was a design flaw or just a problem with a few, as the new one at our local sporting shop is just the same as mine. The shop was wondering if they should send that one back to Rossi, as of right now I have not heard back on mine yet, so it's my curiosity to know from other owners.
I remember when I got the rifle there were barely any resources on how to take the rifle down. I usually don't post takedown videos but I'll try to get something up, probably by Sunday

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I really appreciate it and also love my Rio Bravo. Glad you got one too! Keep having fun with it 👍

A good lever action 22 is very nostalgic. Like you said, just shoot all day. One of my favorite things to do
Very nice gun wall brah so sick!
Thanks brah 👉pew pew
Thanks so much for the video and the tip for the sight adaptors.

Love the video. If I may ask what type of mount you used for the red dot? 🔴

would you recommend this weapon for hunting small game (partridge)?
I'm not a hunter myself so I don't know for sure. But I'd probably say yes
Cool fade out effect at the end 👏👏
Thanks Megan! That's that movie magic 😉
Solid review!
Thanks for watching! ✌️
You can put a red dot on it? Did you have to do any modifications to make it work?
Yes sir. I screwed a small rail section into the rear sight screw holes.
The sound of the lever action is louder than the noise from the 22 quiet round.
You're right! Crazy how much of a difference the quiets make. I can shoot those all day out of that gun

So just to make sure the ruger 10/22 monstrum adapter works right? Just impulse bought one lmao

lol I got a pinty as well. A really nice sight for 23 bucks. I can't stant the pinty name either. I thought about painting it black
That's funny, ya Pinty has a lot going for them other than their name

What state do you live in? Just curious...
The great state of misery...I mean Missouri
lol the intro
Thanks, glad you liked it
You don’t need a red dot on a 22
You don't need to tell people your opinion
would appreciate a takedown clean video
