Nice Ed...Those local spread out places are more up my alley...seems more chilled and a lot less chaotic then the concentrated farang strip bars...BTW i like that song you were playing, you got good taste in music buddy :)
I missed Udon in my 2 months trip to TH this year. I'm back home working in Denmark now, but will absolutely be back in 2025 for at least the same amount of time - and I'm going to Udon Thani this time around. There is also a good, danish family community up there, which is nice.

Looks smashing Ed. Always good to go where the locals go. Just wondered how you found it as they are usually well off the tourist track. Saying that, I guess things are a little different in Udon Thani. Love all the info on these different areas. It certainly gives me more confidence to go further afield than the usual areas. Keep it going Ed. Back in Pattaya in July and October if I survive Colombia in March 😂😂
I live in Udon & I took Eddy to Room 168 & the Thai place on the ring road. I only found out about Room 168 from watching Coffee Chill TV channel. He is an Aussie based in Udon who only travels by public transport & if your coming to Udon &/or planning on visiting places like among Khai, Nakhon Phenom I recommend you check out his channel.
I love those Thai concert halls like the one you showed. Others popular ones that you can find all over the country include: Tawan Daeng and Sang Jan - everyone knows them. Definitely a great night out if you don't mind Thai music. There is normally dancing later on around 12-2am if you like that sort of thing.
It looks very congenial, Eddie...Not ' in your face' like Pattaya... Get out there and do your thing, mate . You look to be lapping it up and so you should . It looks a great place. Have fun! 😊

Love Udon Thani, Nong Prajak Park is an awesome place to walk around. I went there twice last year and am going again for 6 weeks in April. Can you please provide any more directions for the bar at the end of your video with live music? I would love to go but can't locate it on the map. Which part of the ring road is it on, north/south etc or what is it near? Thanks!
If your heading north to Nong Khai out of Udon Thani on Highway 2 at the ring road (highway 216) you got the under pass & over pass. You turn left onto the ring road you pass the Big Lotus’s super market in the left & a bit passed that there is a Gas Station on the right & it is just before the Gas Station.
It looks great there Eddie . The only thing holding me back is the long flight from Toronto. I really need to work on this . Do a stop over for a few days in Tokyo.
