    First up, we'll kick things off at the vibrant park area, where locals love to hang out after dark. It's always buzzing with energy and excitement!
    Then, we'll venture into the heart of the action, the main nightlife area, where all the bars and restaurants light up the streets. Get ready for a stroll down one Of the popular bar streets, soaking in the atmosphere and maybe even meeting some people.

    Finally going to visit Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Korat in June. Have only driven through them a couple of times, but never stayed a night.
    Seems like the nightlife is just perfect for my taste in Udon Thani, and they have cheap 4 star hotels in the center.

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  2 місяці тому +2

      Yes, they have just the right mix in Udon. Not to crazy, but enough bars and cheap hotels 👍

  • @iskandartaib

    Strange. Last time I was there the ducks were floating in the lake. Hmm.. maybe they sprung a leak? 😁 I think the first giant rubber duckie was in Hong Kong, it was some sort of art installation, these showed up shortly after. From what I understand Day&Night is one of the two big farang bar complexes, the other one is Nutty Park. Nutty Park is more or less across the road from your hotel. During the Vietnam War Udon Thani was host to a lot of Americans, there was a major air base here. The base is still there (I remember watching the jets practicing), but it's not an American base any more. Still, that might explain why there are more farangs than you'd expect...

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  2 місяці тому +2

      Sometimes they're in the water and sometimes not , so I've heard . Yes, they used the airbase here for Vietnam. I would actually say the opposite though, less Farangs here then what I was expecting. 👍👍

    The Banbua Grand Udon hotel is only $30 a night! A really elegant and sophisticated hotel with an absolutely massive swimming pool, add $7 for a buffet breakfast. Looked at a few other hotels that I considered nice, and some were only $14 a night.

    Good video fella. We stayed at the Pannerai Hotel, just next door to the Day/Night complex a few weeks ago but it was just too quiet for us. We went into the complex around 9pm and we were the only customers in the whole place! Zero atmosphere unfortunately. Was better across the street in the stand alone bars.

    Last time I was there was due to a layover flight being 8 hrs to fly onward to Phuket, so I decided to get a cab into town. I believe I was in the same street with all those bars. My 1st visit was in '10 ish and the Day and Night complex was then known as New Plaza after Pattaya's namesake. I also ate in the same open air restaurant, which you were disappointed with. We had the fish that comes with pak choi and plenty of other options, it was delicious. Overall I prefer Chang Mai to Udon Thani.

    The oldest profession in the world is alive and kicking even in good old Udon Thani and before it Kanchanaburi and assumably even better in Chiang Mai. Certainly closer to home for the girls but probably not as successful for regular good income to support themselves and the family and that is why their families encourage them to venture down to Bangkok, Pattaya or the Islands down South.
