    Salt, I'm 55 & have an 07 with 24,000 trouble free miles. They are spectacular bikes. I track mine too & it never lets me down. I commute to work every day on it. I put Heli clip ons on to make it more comfy, also took the cat off, Scorpion Pipe with no baffle. This bike is loud & fast & for me is the perfect bike if you can only have one & can put up with the aggressive riding position. I do lots of yoga, helps keep me on a supersport!

      I'm 49 and have an 08 with 88,000. Only issue I have had is gear sensor goes out around 30,000. Had it replaced twice and starting to fail again. Besides that I love this bike. Bought it brand new with zero miles. Commute all year round near Washington, D.C.

      Benjamin here at 41, my '06 750 died in my arms after 59000 miles (bought at 0)
      The beastie wasn't problem free over the 12.5 years I had it though
      Blew off a coolant hose, melted its generator, had the CPS die, formed moisture in the harness and ECU,... all within warranty
      Over time I also replaced 1 rectifier, 2 cam tensioners, 2 headers (both cracked at the balance pipe), 2 gear sensors, 1 radiator, 1 starter, another generator, and the powdercoat on the frame at the knees wore bare within 4 years, requiring carbon frame covers, had more moisture in the ECU
      Of course had a few drops and slides, but all low speed, so nothing fatal in that regard
      But I rode her hard and through any kind of weather that permitted
      In 2016 at 46K miles, the headgasket started sweating (roadsalt probably being the biggest culprit), had it replaced, then in 2018 her basegasket started sweating,, by now the headers cracked for the 2nd time, powdercoat was flaking off my swingarm, front fork (and who knows what else) needed revision, saddle was tearing, paint was fading
      (and some parts in original color weren't available anymore from Suzuki, which I found out in prior to the gasket being diagnosed, after my colleague pulled her out of the parking space with his bumper, luckily it was on his insurance to get things painted)
      I knew she was failing, if not mechanically, then financially, I figured I'd ride her and do service intervals, for as long as no problems popped up that left her unrideable, while starting to look for a different bike
      That dreaded fate took place 2 months ago, after going back after a testride on a 1000 K5, I wanted to extend the ride home, but didn't get very far
      At some point, the RPM needle went to 6 o'clock, tach showed 0mph, and 2 miles further my bike went dead, her generator melted the 2nd time in her life and those last few miles I was going on just the juice of my battery, she left me stranded for the last time
      (Being in Europe, this was even more bitter, since I just passed 95000 km, going for the 100K)
      As much as I would have liked, with all her issues, it was not worth the money to save her, the total budget would put me well near another 750 with at least half its miles
      It's a shame, I spent many miles on her, commuting, an occasional trackday, and running away from the everyday bullshit and occasional disasters in life
      A friend who was always there for me (except those few times she acted like a stubborn bitch), She was my baby (occasionally my problem child)
      ...and though I managed to find a buried treasure in return (a 1000 K5 in showroom condition with less than 4800 miles on it)
      The new lady has some pretty big shoes to fill, regardless of the 250cc's and 28hp extra, making her a beast to tame, she still isn't "My Little beastie"

    Fantastic displacement. I hope they keep making the 750. It’s light like the 600 and has a bit of the grunt of the 1000. I leave it in 2nd all the time in the city. I agree with you about the sound. It sounds angry. Like a metallic raspiness is the best way I can describe it.

    Nobody needs a litre bike. I find that in Florida everyone is much more likely to jump on the 1000cc bandwagon simply because the only thing we can do is go straight (and more HP is better for going straight). Up in the mountains, I'd imagine many more people would be content with a 600/750/675 bike.

    • @Christian-xc9bh

      1000cc makes exiting turns in the mountains uphill, very fun.

      never had a 600 and I love my CBR 1000RR, the bike will do 120 easy in 3rd gear and in the city you never have to shift. just keep it in 2nd and enjoy all the torque you want.

    • @Treizez34
      @Treizez34 7 років тому +3

      Oh don't think I'm saying litre bikes aren't fun...that torque and the ease of acceleration is so damn intoxicating! But in reality, it's such ridiculous power for the road that it's completely unnecessary. Come to think about it, so are 600's...but in the end, that's not the point :)

I have followed you for awhile when I was looking for Ninja 1000 upgrades and was surprised when you went to a GSXR, but I totally get why when you explained in another video about the weight. I also have a GSXR 600 but its too uncomfortable for me because age and a wrist injury a while back. Anyway cool bike and you obviously have fun on it.

    I'm looking to get a GSXR 600. How does it compare to the 750? Any noticeable differences or reasons to get one over the other?

    • @roymckie2752

      Blake Patterson depends on what year...the L1 on 600 gixers have a close ratio gearbox but the 750 doesn't.. I've had 7X 750s and love them so much. Had fireblades .R1 zx6r zx10r... L1 onwards 750s are probably the best road bikes I've ever owned...now have an L5 red Mira pearl... Lovely looking bike dude...

      For a first bike, probably not the best choice but never think of a bike as the last bike you are getting, think of a bike as the best bike for you at the time that will lead to better bikes. I have a ‘15 750 but it’s the fourth street bike I’ve had, with a 500 and three 600s prior.

    Question, is it easy to adjust it to maybe get it a tad lower? I sat on new ones stock, and I can touch toes on both sides, but im not 100% comfortable with just that. Would adjusting preload help a little? im 5'5 and 140 pounds wet.
    I know I could ride it as is, but the closer to the ground, the more confidence I have, especially if I buy one of these new.

  • @markstengel7680

    More power than a 600 & less weight than a 1000. All the Japanese companies made 750s, it was the standard even after 1000 & 1100s came out. Suzuki only Japanese co making that bike, thats commitment. The 600 class came from insurance companies paying out from deaths so the 600 was in the 750s were discontinued. This occurred in 80s only Suzuki gave a choice of both bike's. Also no racing bike has that throttle roll on sound, It's the closest you can get on the ground to flying a aircraft.

    • @Bruce.Wallace
      @Bruce.Wallace 6 років тому

      You need to stop smoking meth. Sports bikes capacity has always revolved around racing classes. World Superbikes and national level superbike classes was always 1000cc V-twins and 750cc inline 4 cylinders. That was the premier class of racing. Once that changed to 1000cc inline 4s the 750s went the way of the dodo. Suzuki just kept building theirs as it was a good seller regardless. 600 supersport was always the stepping stone class between 250 production and Superbikes. That horseshit about insurance companies you posted is complete and utter nonsense. Get off the gear and put your tin foil hat in the bin.
