    Couple things, black smoke means excess fuel, black fouled plug means excess fuel. Power commander should have been suspect #1. Replacing the plugs and those two coil packs couldn't have hurt but you probably could have saved some money by just cleaning them up and using the originals. Also dielectric grease is used specifically because it DOES NOT conduct electricity. You applied it in such a way that it would end up between the plug and the contact point within the coils. It needs to be applied lightly to the inside of the boot or the porcelain of the spark plug to prevent spark leak down. It should never be applied to the contact point between the plug and coil.
    Love your vids brother, still getting out there and getting shit done! More than I can say for my own projects 😅.

      Hello brother! Thank you for the comment. I will pin this because some people might find it helpful.
      Black smoke could be caused by a number of things, running rich is one of them, but I didn’t consider the power commander because I didn’t expect it till after exhausting the usual culprit with are bad injectors, ignition coils or even restricted air filter. The spark plugs definitely needed to be replaced. As per manufacturers recommendation, they are only designed to go 12k kms max on most sport bikes for the motorcycle to run efficiently, the coil pack was just an added peace of mind. I will say I’ve always applied dielectric grease that way and never had any issues but this is something for me to look into and I appreciate the feedback on that. Thank you once again and yes I try to get out there and get some work done even on the days I really don’t want to lol 😆. Cheers brother🍻 🇨🇦

    I bet they call you the Doctor. When someone in the group has a bike problem, they know not just "a guy" but "THE GUY". Seriously, this is what I want to do with my life, get my own place and start doing exactly this. Im so hyped for it. Can't wait to start my first restoration.

      Haha there might be some truth in that. I wish you all the best. I want the same too. I’m currently working towards getting a bigger property because I’m starting to have projects pile up lol 😆

      Thank you very much! They are good machines. It’s a 90cc air cooled engine, electric start, has LED headlights , horn and retail for $1300CAD. Nothing crazy but it’s good enough for kids to start on and learn some throttle control. I’m in Canada, I purchased this from a company in Quebec. They were not the best to deal with. I was supposed to have an unboxing, set up and review video on the bikes but they pretty much ruined all that for me. Nevertheless, kids love it. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

    Thank you for this I have a 2008 K8 600 I bought new back in 2008 still got it. I wanted to see how the fairings fit and bolts for some reason why fairings next to my seat don’t click in I have to use double side tape to keep them in place. Also could you put the parts you used for the spark plugs and coil packs. A link to the parts please thanks. Can you do a separate video showing how to take of the front and rear tire what tools do I need to take them off. I hate having to take them in and they charge me so much to change tires. Same for the chain as well and sprockets thanks man i needed this video.

      Hello, I don’t have this particular bike anymore, however stay tuned for my next rebuild, you’d be able to learn quite a bit as they’re very similar.

    Hey bro, wanted to ask your opinion on the best street legal exhaust system (with the db killer on ) for the same 750❤

    • @MIKESBUILDZ
      @MIKESBUILDZ  6 місяців тому

      Hey, so it really depends on if you want something super loud or just a bit louder than stock. The Yoshi on this bike is perfect, not too loud, not too quiet.

    • @M99885
      @M99885 6 місяців тому +1

      @@MIKESBUILDZ i would like to find a full system thats not too loud or just a mid pipe with a slip on , keeping the stock headers

    • @MIKESBUILDZ
      @MIKESBUILDZ  6 місяців тому +1

      @@M99885 for full exhaust systems, i recommend you look at akrapovic or hindle. High quality systems and not overly load.

    would have tested the coils before replacing. throwing parts at something is stupid mechanics. diagnose the problem. replacing coil because of exterior rust. please
