Land Rover LR3 Sending Unit Repair (Front) Not Reading Fuel

This is a raw last minute video of a repair that I didn't think would be possible after pulling my tank and realizing it was the front sending unit that was bad not the rear. Thinking I was done for and had to wait till next weekend to start looking for the front not the rear, I had time to think and experiment. I have yet to find any repairs or salvaging of other sending units from old lr3 gas pumps being taken apart to repair the front sending unit. Some of you might even get lucky and a wire just needs to be soldered on correctly or cold solder not sending correct signal intervals. Whatever the case may be, it is definitely not necessary to replace the entire gas tank, easier yes. But now that there's a process and troubleshooting it should not take more than 2 hours max. 13mm bolts for the underbody and 10mm for the heat shield. Unplug hoses, drop the tank. Feel free to ask questions. My week old purchase of my first lr3 third common issue is now fixed. Very little experience with these Land Rovers but it is my second and most definitely on the learning curve. Took me 2 months to get another l322 up and running with no problems but that's another video. Thank you.

I lost the magnet when disassembling the unit. What do I do? Can I put a small magnet there?

Hey great man I'm having the same problem with my gas needle showing empty while gas is in it. I already bought a sending unit to replace, the entire tank has to come down for replacement?

I have a question. Did you have to remove the entire fuel tank or can you remove the fuel tank from the inside of the vehicle?
