I swear with all seriousness I found this wood in the dumpster. Well, sitting right next to the dumpster. I guess someone threw away some new wood. Point is - dumpster wood = free.
I have studied this video over and over (literally 5 times). I just got in a turntable and love it. I just made my first 2 product videos and am very happy with them. Thanks so much for the tips! Also it would be fantastic if you had links to your gear in the description (or at least just a list). Awesome video, this is why UA-cam is amazing for learning!
I was thinking the same thing. "Magically Finds" a stack of wood, carpentry it together, stains it then polyurethane it. The actual shot hasn't even taken place yet! Spending some dough just to make a youtube video.
Dope, I do a lot of product photography like this, but love spinning table ideas. I'll go back and look, but did you link your choice spinning platform somewhere?
Great tutorial. I'm in the process of turning my garage into a studio so this will be helpful with product shots. I also have an URSA mini so it was great to see a tutorial shot on that. One question I do have is, what is the name of that stick light he was using for the background that could change color?
Awesome! Love my Ursa mini, also love using my garage as a studio, haha. That light is the Yongnuo YN360 - amzn.to/2w4O8CM - its a seriously great little light... and extremely affordable. - Todd
Holy poop! This was what I was looking for! I have a small light box, but I need to start investing more into lights and diy ... absolutely amazing work!
LOVE LOVE LOVED this! Great content. Actually learned some stuff. Who’s this guy and where’s his channel? Reflections-boom! Prism-boom! Rotating thing-boom! Plastic/glass sheet-boom! Good stuff.
@@shutterstocktutorials Wait but really, i would subscribe so fast. They're really good at keeping things simple while explaining them, keeping your attention the whole time. I couldn't click away. In the back of mid mind i thought for the first time "Hey, maybe i could try this one day" haha.
When doing the slider shots on the cider ad, did you need to make numerous attempts in order to pull focus properly (i.e. when sliding toward or away from the product)? Seems to me it would take a few tries. (Excellent video, btw! Thanks!)
Hey nice video, i want to ask about the camera settings. I use a mini studio with a black background. So which camera settings are the beste to having a nice black cinematic background?
For your slide in/out shots, did you have someone pulling focus? (Seems to me it would be very difficult for one person to both slide camera and pull focus at the same time). Awesome video, by the way! Thanks.
Honestly it’s mostly just digital zooms and pans created in post - other than that using the sigma you can get some really dynamic shots because of the close focus.
amzn.to/2KaLLHO - This is the one I have I think. Honestly, it's a bit expensive, and there might be others out there. That one can handle a whole bunch of weight though. - Todd
Awesome, so glad to hear it! The one I have is called an arqspin - I think (search it on amazon and you’ll find it). To be honest this one is a bit more expensive than it’s worth, but it can handle a lot of weight which is helpful.
When doing the slider shots on the cider ad, did you have a helper to pull focus (i.e. when sliding toward or away from the product)? Seems to me it would be too much for a single person to both use the slider and pull focus. Any advice would be appreciated.
Those are actually just digital zooms in premiere. In certain cases you can make it look like a slider move, and you don’t have to worry about pulling focus.
@@mark83175 that this is just a clickbait. If some one write about cheap setup and use expensive lights, Tripods and some more, then this has nothing to do with cheap and is far away from 200 bucks. Sorry but when I spend enough money for the Equipment around, then 200 bucks are nuts. Create this with real cheap lights, no special tripods and a common Camera with lens THEN we can talk about a good video
@@inoyashakitbu1178 this video is for filmmakers and he obviously assumes a filmmaker has the necessary equipment. I need some tips on my product. I have a beauty product that is similar to the flashlight shape/size and texture (color is light pinkish with silver rim). Yet I want it to be feminine Atmosphere like the the perfume set up... how can I mix these two themes?!?!
Hey Todd thanks for the video, just what's needed, simple, to the point, attention to detail, easy to follow and not over complex for starters like me. Thank you for your efficiency and consideration. Immediate fan, just subscribed to your channel!!! Keep up the great work!
