I was a bit paranoid then that you’d made a video about me, Easy, Cheap and Good Looking. Great video with really good explanation, even the common everyday reflector got a great explanation. I often use tracing paper as a diffuser on an old background stand hanging one part of the cross bar a good few inches from the light, as it’s easier and cheaper to get the big rolls. I even double it up at times to give gradation around a cylindrical object. I certainly wouldn’t buy that diffusion material but don’t leave modelling lights on in contact with it or any other lighting that gets hot, but the same applies for gels.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial, Mr. Ayers. My roommate and I are a couple of amateur photographers with ambitious dreams to present "professional" photos for our webpage. Good luck to all our ambitious entrepreneurs.
im late to this party but a great reminder of how the deep and complex subjects of lighting and camera technicalities can be leapfrogged to get nice shots
Thank you for sharing this video. After watching this I realised that I didn't need the light box I was planning to make. I ended up using two strips of white vinyl (the vinyl that they print banners on) suspended, at right angles to each other, by adhesive velcro dots. In my workshop two small rolls of vinyl are easy to store and more importantly to keep clean, as my hands are invariably dirty from working with metal. It hangs below a big overhead worklight, which is above a workbench, takes me about 30 seconds to install, and works perfectly.

Awesome, man.
I thought the video was gonna be about me too until I read "good looking".
Mark Harris lol
😂😂😂😂
This video tutorial is timeless, so well presented and nailed the information, totally deserves its 2M odd views.
Thanks buddy
Good stuff, thanks for sharing. Here in the US we say cool white vs. warm white bulbs.
Do you have a tutorial on how to take flat lay photography specifically clothing etc?
Not yet
Thank you for sharing this tutorial, Mr. Ayers. My roommate and I are a couple of amateur photographers with ambitious dreams to present "professional" photos for our webpage. Good luck to all our ambitious entrepreneurs.

Ok great I will 👍👍👍
im late to this party but a great reminder of how the deep and complex subjects of lighting and camera technicalities can be leapfrogged to get nice shots
Brilliant! Well done!
