    off. tueller was interviewed, said he never intended for there to be anything like ''The 21' Rule of Gun vs Knife''. it was simply that poiice firearms range training was, arbitrarily at 25m and 7m (7'=21'), ergo...
    also, i've got 3,4 vids of actual cellphone street-kills, in which the victim is surprise-stabbed in the heart, and in each case is, basically, going to sleep in 10-15sec, after being stabbed in the heart.
    also, about the same, for several large game kill-vids, heart shot; one cape buff took 16-17 sec, running, to fall down inert.
    also, doug mercaida and comandante zero, did a gun vs knife-rusher vid, where C zero fell down to his butt-to-reclined-shooting, as mercaida rushed in. interesting.
    but, have mercaida and zero, test that drill, with no warning in a parking lot, after a couple weeks of not training it, shock-knife and simuntions.
    my 2cents: a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state; ie, militia controlled areas, NOT 'police' and thug controlled areas.

    If you move roughly at a 45 back and away from the X it creates more distance and time then going sideways. Also a good reminder folks need to know how to use their hands.

    On Feb 11 2024 Las Cruces New Mexico Police officer Jonah Hernandez was stabbed to death as he responded to a trespassing call for service. It is the most gruesome and disturbing bodycam footage I have ever seen. However many lessons can be learned. The video can be found on Video Leak Police channel. WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC!

      Was he 21 feet away, or was he closer to 5 feet away and ambushed an approaching officer? This story has nothing to do with the 21 foot rule.

    • @Peaches-i2i
      @Peaches-i2i Місяць тому +1

      Yeah Jonah Hernandez was basically right next to the guy and instead of going for his gun or trying to get control of the knife he turned his back and tried to run only to trip and fall. The lesson is don't stand right next to a suspect without getting control over the situation and don't turn your back and run and definitely don't trip and fall. His first reaction was to run away, bad instincts for a cop or anyone whose job is to handle danger.

    There is also hand to hand ways of fighting off a knife attack, if you have an expandable baton, and a backpack or bag for a shield, or even a knife of your own.

    The way i had it explained to me was that at 21ft or closer, if you have a knife attacker after you, and you dont hit head or spine, a guy with otherwise mortal bullet wounds can have enough blood left to make it the 21ft and put the knife in you.
    I took it as something to keep in mind, since things don't go like they do in the movies.

    What training can someone do who cannot carry a firearm? For example an old man who did something stupid 45 years ago and lives in commiefornia. Add in two time cancer survivor and bottom lobe of the right lung doesn't work. I'm guessing prayer is my best bet following maximum situational awareness.

    • @Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors
      @Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors  5 місяців тому +1

      So laws and rights do not equate. My first suggestion would be to widely seek firearms training and keep an ace in your back pocket.
      There are many classes that could be worked with those particular medical conditions.
      With that being said the reality of mindset> tactics> skills> gear is that while so many people are focusing on skills and gear a person with the right mindset could be learning tactics and mindset and remain a step ahead.
      Survival, Homesteading, hand to hand, driving, logistics- there are a lot of equations to consider.

      @@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors thanks for the answer. I have a few of those already, hand to hand I have some training and experience, staying aware I'm good at. Traveling with my wife we have left rest stops without getting out of the car. There were 3 guys all standing away from each other but all three watching incoming vehicles and making eye contact with each other. I even called the non-emergency line to the CHP. Dispatch told me that they had been having problems there, thanked me, and said she was sending units to talk to them. The wife thought I was being paranoid until the dispatcher thanked me for trying to help.
      There is a point to this story and it is not tooting my own horn! I tell the wife every time we stop for gas, or a bathroom break, keep your head on a swivel. Keep one eye on my back, I'll watch yours. Stay alert folks! First and foremost if there is a threat and you don't see it coming you already lost.
      Or am I wrong?

    Great video! you guys also did a really phenomenal job of thoroughly explaining how a lot of these false misrepresentations that are so overly emphasized, such as "reactionary gap" and "threat assessment" these statements are exasperated as if they are "absolutes" or something. Like you said, in the video. For example, The bad guys knife may be so small or really concealed the good guy can't even see until he has been attacked. Also, the bad guy could easily be in arms reach which totally eliminates the whole "reactionary gap" philosophy. I liked how you emphasized for the good guy trying to have or put something as a barrier between him and the bad guy, as well as creating space. Just like the other gentleman said also, it is a very laughable idea when people say ... "people don't get in my bubble or close to me" He's absolutely right! everyone very frequently goes somewhere where they are in some capacity of close proximity to other people, such as grocery checkout lines etc..... being situationally aware is DEFINITELY A MUST! like you said, if the good guy does get stabbed by a criminal, his first reaction may not be to deploy his weapon, a million different things are at play and as you guys emphasized how people react in a self defense scenario is not going to be the same all across the board. Good stuff! keep up the great work!

    it just doesn't work this way in reality, everybody who has seen a knife stabbing video ever, knows how fast and unpredictable these attacks are.
