Loved all of the different approaches to St. Louis! It's too bad that the Arch isn't lit up at night. Some color changing LED's would look really cool on it. I love the materials and architecture of Busch Stadium. But even after watching this video, I'm still glad the DNC chose Charlotte over St. Louis for its 2012 convention. Great work!
@FreewayAndrew The Cards did play the D-Backs that night. Panning to right is not easy, you are likely to get part of the car in the shot, I decided against it although the thought did cross my mind at the time.
@Freewayjim bummer. Well, if you ever have the chance, make sure to visit Des Moines! I know I've asked this before, but when did you say you will visit here? I remember you said about a year or two.....but since you're close, maybe you changed your mind? Still, keep up the great videos!
@CosmoPhotography Thanks, totally agree with on the arch, it should be lit up with something! Charlotte has better overall architecture in the downtown/uptown area but to me STL is a far more interesting city overall, especially from a highway standpoint.
@Bryant5493 Finding footage from what I shot that was good enough (light and no rain) that I could put together in to a video that made sense and would be enjoyable to watch. This is the best I got in about 70 minutes of recording.
@aijunk2 I never said I'd visit Des Moines? I just don't get out that way, and it's not someplace I would go out of my way to film. Here's the deal, if it happens to be on the way to somewhere else I'm going and the lighting conditions are decent then I "might" film driving through, but for me it is not a "destination", sorry. Really, the odds are against it happening.
Awesome video, Jim. I thought STL at night is impressive. 3:40 I thought the camera would go to the right to capture the Arch. 3:53 When I saw the lights, I thought the Cards had a game that night. (I'm a Reds fan) Do you know who they played? I know it was before the All-Star Break. Can't wait for the other videos!
Queston if u driving from Boston to LA and u leave at 4am take I-95 south to GWB then NJ turnpike s to PA turnpike w to I-70 west and u enter st louis at 12.30 to 1am then take I-44 anyhow is it a good idia for New England traffic for LA to go thorugh St louis between midnight to 2am to avoid rush hour traffic I heard the bridge has terrible traffic during rush hour with trucks comming to as far away as from Boston to Los Angalas
@aijunk2 Not trying to give you a hard time, just want to be honest with you because you've asked me about it several times and I don't want to get your expectations up for something that has a 10-20% chance at best of happening.
When you come through St. Louis again, you should take video of your drive east on Forest Park Parkway from the galleria and Clayton through the Central West End and ending downtown. Thats the best view besides I-64 east or west. Show the metro's full core like you do Atlanta or Dallas. Dont' take I-70 if you want good footage, take I-64.
This local of the St. Louis Metro might have something to offer; got a growing portfolio of town (and eventually the surrounding country) driven down & timelapsed. You just might like what you see, Cameron!
I think the music is relaxing and it fits the video very well.
It Does! This is A Gem with the Weather and the Stadium, Its Smooth and relaxing, Rock on Jim

@Freewayjim The city had lit the Arch years back but to save costs, they shut off the lights. Shame though.
@b0gdanB Thank you!
@lilsweets4u22 It goes another 39 miles out of the city.
Aw, this was before these highways went full Mad Max.
@mutt1256 Thank you!
@0marigolds Dosen't the weather channel play it?
You may not like it but other people might. I can't please everyone.

1:39 unfortunately, that exit no longer exists due to construction and rearranging for the Arch park.........
Whats the city/ street in the intro? Btw love your vids! :)
