Welcome to my current stomping grounds. This highway was built piecemeal through STL between 1932-71, and most of it was rebuilt between 2006-08, the state's largest-ever project. The Illinois side is from the 60's and 70's. Used to be I-55-64-70 in ESL until the new I-70 and Stan Musial-Veterans Memorial Bridge was built in 2015. No carjacking chases, no shootings and no moving parking lots. You did well.

@mileagemike... i don't think you made it across the whole county to the Missouri river bridge crossing in this edition of your travels or did i miss it?
Fun fact the city of St Louis is independent of the county of Saint Louis the county seat of government is not in the city it is the suburb of O' Fallon. Another fun fact St Louis is also the birthplace of the Chevy Corvette from 1953 until production moved to Bowling Green, KY in 1981
I-64 is my favorite highway to look at in the St Louis Metropolitan Area.

Correct. I think the city would be better off if consolidated with the surrounding county.
The seat for St. Louis County is actually in Clayton!
