We test a lot of mobile internet gear to find what works best. In this video, we share our review of the Netgear MIMO antenna, which suction cup mounts to an interior window and directly plugs into a mobile hotspot device like a Jetpack or MiFi.
This is a directional antenna with a 40" long cable and TS-9 Adapter - making it very efficient.
In our testing, this can often perform roof mounted antennas and cellular boosters.
For just $27.49, we highly recommend having this antenna as part of your arsenal if you carry MiFis, Jetpacks or other mobile hotspot gear.

Just started using this on my Netgear Nighthawk three days ago. The detected signal strength on my Nighthawk remained the same, 2 of 5 bars which is typical and why be bought this antenna in the first place, but there is a noticeable increase in bandwidth. Page load times are at least slightly (~20%) faster. Streaming video is more consistent/stable and tends to play at a higher resolution than it did just last week. We didn't go from the equivalent of dial-up to T1, but we did go from marginal to very acceptable. You are very correct about this being a Bi-Directional vs. Omni-Directional antenna. Placement is key, as you say. In my experience, it was well worth the $27.50 we paid for it on Amazon.

Correct me if I’m wrong. To my understanding the nighthawk being a 4x4 MIMO would need one antenna for each of the 4 frequency ranges?? If that is the case, then having two ports seems weird.

Keep in mind that there are many variables when comparing their performance to yours. The main ones are direction (if it's positioned to face the tower perfectly), distance from the antenna, the surface it's attached to (some glass has additives which can filter out radio waves), the equipment's sensitivity it's attached it, etc. So as you can see if ANY one of those variables is not optimal, you won't get the high gains you're expecting. Try to be realistic, radio waves are a funny bunch. ;)

The reason I ask is there is a tower down in the valley down below my place. No cell at my place and just wonder if I pointed it down the hill,...... Guess I will just have to try it and find out. At that price even if it doesn't work I can try it somewhere else.
And yes my MHS700L does have ports. Under little tiny rubber plugs. One of which I managed to drop on the floor. Took me 15 minutes to find it.

Nope. It's a cellular antenna, your computer knows nothing about it. It needs to be aimed towards the cellular tower you're wanting to connect to, and plugged into your cellular data device. Your computer then connects to the cellular device.
