- Here are my thoughts about this monster of a HEDDphone!
I now used it over one year in our studio and produced over 60 tracks and edited nearly as many videos with it! And I had some people around who also checked their productions with it.
HEDDAudio left us alone with the HEDDphone to try it out and to report our experience in the form of a video. There was no money or other baksheesh involved! And usually I only make videos about stuff I really like and would buy myself! So enjoy!
And I would like to thank my fellow UA-camrs for being sampled!
You all did a great job! It's not easy to make good headphone videos! :-)

Got a Heddphone and like it but it misses some low and highs. Compared to my Audeze lcdX I prefer the Audeze more for mastering.
I have exact opposite opinion. HEEDphone sound very natural and detailed - no hyped whatsoever. LCD X are good headphones, but they sound too warm and laid back to my ears.
any recommendations portable amp for hedd?
Unfortunately not, as I only use it in the studio for mixing work.
These cans are not really portable 😂. Desktop only pretty much
I have been rocking the Sennheiser HD25 since my friend sold me his old pair. They're just brilliant.
Nah fam. I just recently went back to my old hd25 after using the HEDDphones for some years. And OMG are they trash. Sounded horrible muddy distorted. Went into the bin immediately
I still think you are going to need both a good headphone set and an acoustically treated room. Just like you, my setup is in my living room. I've been postponing the treatment for years. I do think I'm going to bite the bullet this year, even though I don't think it will not bring miracles and is very expensive. I just don't feel like building panels. I would only like to optimize it a bit. By now I do know the my living rooms limitations and reverb times by heart. I currently monitor on a Sennheiser HD600 powered by an RNHP. I always wondered what those high end offerings are really about.
I would like to encourage you to try it out with your own ears! I recently had a short try with the expensive Neumann and Focal headphones. They all sound very nice and have their own little brand-style. But compared to your HD600, which is already quite a studio benchmark, or midrange Beyers like 1770 Pro, I don't feel such an improvement. They all have this "Hifi-Touch", which makes them sound really great for music listening. For me, the HEDD still plays in a different league when it comes to analytic listening during production because it always reveals more than it covers. Good luck for your living room! 🍀
