If you are looking to add a ceiling light or other fixtures such as a fan to a room without existing wiring, this video will provide an idea of how you can add a ceiling light with no existing wiring.
If you have attic access and have a wall switch or any other power source on the nearby wall, you can tap into this power and fish the wire to the attic from where you can connect to the new ceiling light.

I will try to do a video on this. But this would require creating small openings on the wall and ceiling to fish the wire. The openings can then be patched and finished or covered.
