I just remembered a car that I secretly love, a Delorean! I’d love one of them!
Under powered, but chassis by Lotus, so will handle well ( or should do)
The Hyundai is definitely a guilty pleasure. I wouldn't consider any of the other classics you mentioned anything for a "Classics Guy" to be embarrassed by.
Q&A is a great format. Loved the questions and how you really thought deeply about the answers - especially on the guilty pleasure cars!!
Had a Delorean ! Underpowered, US Ride Height destroyed the look, Kit Car Quality, Never trust odometer. The cable to the lefy front wheel breaks. There is also a disconnect located right behind the clutch pedal.
Thank you very much Adam for answering my question about the two water filling points on a 89 XJ-S HE. Much appreciated 👍😊
My guilty pleasure - a 1970’s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.
Thanks for taking my question. And my user name is D....O....A.... garage. In the U.S. D.O.A. means Dead On Arrival. In my case it's "Dad's Obsolete Autos". :D
I think a Q&A every couple of months would be good 👍
Have recently learned about RS24, a compatible replacement for R12.
Thanks for answering my question. Will google it as you recommend. TY.
First time I drove a Jaguar was back in 1989, in the same year I bought a 1986 Citroen CX 25 GTI Turbo! 🙂
How did you like the CX?
@@LivingWithAClassic Oh, I loved it! You need a couple of weeks to get used to the brakes and steering, but then it all makes sense. I had mine from 89 to 93 and it is one of very few cars that I had in the past I would love to own again.
Adam thank you for answering my XJS brake question I will check those items for sure I would like it if you do some more Q&As in the future take care best regards Andy Allen.
A Mercedes R107 looks best with Euro spec Bumpers & Headlights. From a guy who is in the middle of installing Euro Bumpers on my 77 XJ6C.
I prefer the U.S. bumpers and headlights. The headlights give it a slimmer look while the bumpers and fog lights beneath add girth for a more purposeful look.
If you need to travel east/west, Route 66 is worth doing. Although I would avoid July-August. Several North/South routes are good too as they parallel mountain ranges, or crisscross over them.
The q&a was great. Thank you. More frequent would be great. Live is uhhhh ok.
You often say I have one of those (parts) here or from my parts cars. Perhaps a video on those parts cars.
Thanks Adam . As if you haven't got enough on your plate !!!
It was fun though!
The SM would be on my list Adam . I had the shear dread which became shear joy of inheriting a DS21 super 5 that my mother no longer wanted .........what a car !
Thank you so much for answering my question! And yes please do a Q and A at least a few times a year. It mixes things up a bit and really helps out your viewers. Keep up the great videos!
I would not recommend driving the Pacific Coast Highway with a manual transmission. It would exhaust you.
Thanks for answering my question Adam . Of the cars you mentioned, mine would be the Austin Healey 3000. a real brute of a car so thumbs up there. If you fancy a British small Sports car there are many to choose from, my first car was a Triumph Spitfire so those get my vote as a first sports car or you can't get a better driving experience than a "7" of some flavour ( again many to choose from ) , that is if these type of cars are legal in Sweden ( many countries won't allow them unless they are old enough to be considered a "Classic" - France for example have a 30 year rule for these type of cars which mine now qualfies for - not that I will sell it !! ). P.S - The username thing with user XXXXXX with random numbers and letters are generrated by UA-cam, folks who have this name can re-name this what whatever they choose in their settings page.
p.p s. _ yes would love another "Live stream" its been a while... If you are planning one, may I ask that you post something on the Community tab say a day before, for some reason UA-cam keep messing with notifications meaning I miss these when someone goes "Live" - missed many live streams due to this issue.
Thanks Rich
Adam, Delorean not a great example of high performance and reliability 😉 although that's coming from a guy who drove two states over to save a 1964 PV544 from a field near Cleveland Ohio that hadn't been on the road since 1978. I successfully got the engine unseized and on the road after 42 years. I bought an XJS v12 for $490 during the start of Covid. How come engine rebuild kits are so expensive for them? Your videos helped me with that car, thank you!
Yes but it’s all about the looks and the flux capacitor 😉
Maybe because it’s a high performance engine with a lot of cylinders. It all adds up
Aloha from Maui, Hawaii. I recently bought my dream car, a 1977 Jaguar XJ6L. I can’t wait to start working on it and make it my daily driver. My mechanical skills are amateur at best but I’m searching for a local expert mechanic that can work on rebuilding the engine (any recommendations would be greatly appreciated). The jag runs but it’s rough, even shutting off sometimes while driving. I’m not rich so I wanted to fix it in sections. What do you suggest I start fixing first and so on? For example the fuel system then move to the carburetors then ignition system over to the transmission, brakes, suspension. I need your help and guidance. I’m also extending an invitation to Maui to you and your family if you decide to work on it together. Mahalo Dane
That part about not cutting the fule hoses length on fuel rail on your own for a V12HE. Does that apply to the pre-HE as well?
Doesnt seem that they have to be that exact...
Yes it applies to both
live would be cool!
R12 was banned in the uk many years ago
Research RS-24 ! Direct replacement for R12.
👍🇦🇺
Yes to the Q & A sessions . I was disappointed in the refusal of answer to my question . I did receive an answer from another UA-cam channel Camp Chaos in Texas . He has several Jaguars of his own plus rebuilds the V12s and 6s also . S&G Barrett line of parts are far over priced and many must be modified to fit . I do buy from Moss and Rock Auto and only from S&G Barrett when they are the only supplier for that part . Even though u refused to answer my question I will still watch each week and support the channel .
I’m sorry I missed your question that wasn’t my intention. I thought I went through them all.
What was your question?
If it was the one about cutting fuel hoses - why would you? Just buy the kit from Mr Injector, much easier and not that expensive.
@@LivingWithAClassic it was about the length of fuel injector hoses .
PT Cruiser 😂 just kidding!
Haha well they’re not the greatest but I wouldn’t mind having one to try out
@@LivingWithAClassic For me it would be a very crappy British car, like a Marina or similar.
@alexandrecouture2462 does a TR7 count?
@@LivingWithAClassic Oh yes, for sure! I even have a family member who have completely rebuilt one and painted it orange. It looks good!
You mean PT Crapper
