Glad they didn't go to waste. Loved a warehouse party in Brighton, with local Carl Cox playing at the odd one. My brother played at a few, one time we got chased around by the old bill. Very funny and some very fond memories from growing up amidst all the partying & chemical testing. 👍🏼👍🏼

Im from Blackburn, although lived in Preston for the past year and a half. Would move back to Blackburn in a heartbeat. This video captured a very dated part of Blackburn, very interesting to watch.
The opening shots were really grim. I know Blackburn well, not a lot of money there but they have an ice rink, fun pool, fantastic concert venue in King Georges hall. I live in a relatively affluent and larger town that has far fewer amenities then Blackburn.
Interesting bit of industrial archeology. My grandfather was from Manchester, and we have a bit of family history around Stockport and New Mills. Grandad was a mechanical engineer with Beyer Peacock. When times were tough they also picked up engineering work for the mills, but eventually the work gave out and he migrated to Australia in the mid-1920s to join the Western Australia railways.
I've always thought if some of the buildings in this country were anywhere else in the world people would be photographing it tourists etc. Bolton town hall is a good example. Edit to add the arch at Birkenhead park too

Hey...nearly got to my town of Accrington Charlie, I was born in Blackburn and have worked there but rarely visit now, quite shocked at how run down many parts of the centre now is, there again, Accrington is similar. You didn't show the large Muslim/Asian areas of the town, the steep streets off Preston New Road, sung about in a famous Beatles song, but at least you ventured here to record the decay of a once proud Cotton town, by the way Blackburn is still a large industrial town but not a city, it has tried to gain city status numerous times but has so far failed. Thanks for your interesting video blog Charlie, regards, Nigel

And here I was thinking about moving to blackbur for a quite life. Now having 2nd thoughts because quite life is not synonymous with living in a run down depressing town.
There's something about Blackburn it achieves being the most underwhelming place where as soon as you step foot you have become a number dammed for life, not many people can have nice lives in environments like these everyday having to glance at concrete eyesores and the only joy is that which is faked or sarcasm. whilst the countless ghosts of cotton workers leech of your soul until you drop dead.
