I can't say this enough.... Thank you Build-a-soil! I'm the last 5 years I always to out at 4 oz plants but more than doubled that number using the BAS way in an Earthbox. Amazing quality with amazing explosive growth. Cut my grow budget literally in half. Thank you BAS crew.
One of the best shows yet on this channel! I always appreciate the guest not getting super stoned before a show, then struggling to put sentences together 😅 very articulate and intelligent conversation. It's also inspiring how sustainable and research driven your company is. That was a pleasure to watch so thank you!
Never mind a part 2, this should become a monthly segment. This guy is great l, listening to him talk excites me I’m sure I’m not the only one. Great episode Chris
I recently saw a BAS video where Jeremy talked about popping seeds and how excited he is to wake up and see what the seeds look like. I relate very hard to that.
BuildAsoil and this channel is filled with the real science and experience.. many others repeat "broscience" and this one is the mythbuster to a lot of the broscience passed around the grow community. Big respect
The interview we’ve all have been waiting for. A great interviewer (Mr. Grow It) with a very knowledgeable and great teacher (Jeremy Silva) Thank you both for taking the time too share and teach everyone about the art of growing
shout out malibu compost! i was road tripping in cali and met the owner and we crashed at their place for the night with him and his wife, got to see his garden and smoked and got drunk with them, amazing amazing people over there
My two favorite UA-cam gardeners in one episode!!!! Priceless. The next time you do a new edition of your book you should include a chapter on organic gardening. Another good organic gardener you should have on here is Kaligrownbudz. He grows exclusively out doors using no till living soil. I would love to see a part 2 or even 3
Build a soil is the best grow medium I've ever used. It's really worth the extra money. I've tried fox farm, Nectar for the gods, roots coco, hydro and a lot more
Love your garden talks, you listen and let the person talk instead of interrupting every 2 seconds like most streamers. Keep these going, I've learned a lot from your channel. Keep grinding!!!
Yea, none of that I AM HERE TO ENTERTAIN YOU and BE YOUR FRIEND, hit my bong videos. Nontalented people making music videos or playing some of that , I WANT TO TAKE AN ICE PICK TO MY EARS racket. These feller are great data and they have the tools on their belts to back up their statements. Thank everyone that is involved and that includes all the people that share information and watch these videos not load them down with bullshit! FREE THE WEED and $TOP THE GREED. Jeremy helped me build my first soil himself. I didn’t know anything about this and he helped me out and literally dm’d me for 3 days helping me build my first soil. I’ll always be loyal to BAS!
If you haven’t seen the 10x10 series, you need to start it now. Been following the journey from the beginning. I’ve been gardening for my entire life, my dad was a farmer. I am still learning with these guys.
It's pretty tough to beat the information you get from this channel on a very consistent basis. This one was one of my favorites. You can tell Jeremy is passionate about what he's doing so it's not a job for him.
Chris is my favorite UA-camr, but Jeremy is my favorite grower. Imagine my glee when my 2 favorites made a highly educational video. Pure joy. Thanks to both of you for this. Genuinely.
Perfect timing ! You boys want lunch ? You hit that so out of the park ,where I live you hit happy hydro's building . Outstanding video and will need to watch this again . Could have been twice as long .! Im in for as many parts as you boys have the strength for . Thank you both
Great episode! Really enjoy the build a soil channel and his way of breaking things down so it's easily understood for most! It's obvious he's passionate about the things he talks about and wants everyone to succeed at organic gardening! Definitely need a part 2! ✌
You just explain my life with your intro bro that's exactly how I feel about growing I just started a 20 ft garden cuz I'm tripping about my life and I have no freaking purpose and it gives me stability like you said bro
All of your episodes are deep but I didn't expect it to be that super deep, especially in regards to why Jeremy chose this and that insteand of other things, highly educational!
A big shout out to Chris & Jeremy, thank you so much for your time. Awesome content and a part 2 would be much appreciated if your busy work schedule allows. Cheers guys.
I really do enjoy Jeremy's knowledge and energy and Ive watched a number of his 10x10 episodes. That said, I didnt really have a clear understanding of his approach to building soil until I saw your interview with him. Thanks for that!
Man you did it Chris. You got the man what's up Jeremy ? The two of you in one place. Nice. You two are the ones that got me through the first few grows. Worm bin has taken off.
epic. Yes part 2 ! The only thing I do different that I haven't heard others talk about is : context = In the beginning I didn't know how serious I was going to take with the canna. i mainly grow food. So the canna went into 5 gals. year later totally root bound & no space to add anything... Sooooo... in order to keep moms alive, & to keep the flowering ones going I have been making a blended water-in mix. For a 1 gallon watering container I use : -1 tbsp of spent coffee grounds -shot glass of pistachio shells -a twig from the ground which is oak. about the size of your finger. It needs to be hammered first as to break it up. This is the MOST IMPORTANT input. -A spoonful of seeds. I either use apple seeds or neem/karanga(BAS) OR flax or quinoa or corn >>>> These ingredients go into a coffee grinder which has the spinning blades and turned into dust. This dust then gets added to the water bottle and watered in. Without this the plants fade. Sometimes I fluxuate and grind craftblend & castings, but the key point is; when the ingredients are blended into dust then they can be watered into a plant which has no room to top dress.
this is awesome!!! i watch jeremy's channel all the time!! actually looking at trying out the build a soil 3.0. theres so much good info here. thank you for getting jeremy on here!! this was a fantastic episode!! LETS GET A PART 2!!!
Yup, I wait for black Friday sales and order big bags of their ammendments. 44lb bag of craft blend for 117 bucks IIRC. Can't beat that!! That'll hold me over for a while and I have a full 4x4 bed and 4 20 gal no-till bags too. Probably around 32 cf of soil to keep up with. I'll grab a cf of buildaflower too and I really need to look and see if they sell it in larger volume..... I run out of it fast lol. That, or start doing my own bloom supporting compost similar to theirs. I need to figure out what they do to it. I know I mixed up buildaflower with craftblend to top dress my bed in mid flower and forgot to apply it to my bed. Next day it was cooking and hot lol. I mean it should get hot I know, but I'd imagine that's what they do when they add Kelp and whatever else is added to their buildaflower. Worm castings are in it too I believe and probably a couple more ammendments to help in flower.
It's amazing to see where the forums days have taken us. From stumbling around to clear, precise and repeatable methods. All while learning how and why it works so well. Jeremy does the best job communicating what Solomon and Coot figured out.
Been shopping with Buildasoil since 2014.. hands down my favorite company to support as far as gardening goes. Was on a journey of making my own soil and finding the highest quality ingredients and it led me to his store. I've never turned back.. almost 10 years using his stuff and couldn't be happier 🤙
Great episode! Thanks Jeremy and chris. I have learned much from you both over the last few years. Just transplanted ladies into 30 gallon living soil pots. 1/2 cup each of craft blend and gnarly barley with a 1/2 handful of kashi blend. Threw down some cover crop and straw mulch. Thanks BAS. LOYAL TO THE SOIL!
I have followed each of you on UA-cam and watched all your videos to date. Today I learned even more from you two. I’m a new grower on my first grow that is going effortless thanks to your videos. I feel I’m getting my information from the best sources that are on the internet. I feel that thank you isn’t enough but Thank you. I’m looking forward to the part two and season three from build a soil.
What a great episode buildasoil and mr.grow it 👍🏻 I’ve watched all of Jeramys videos and learned sooo much ! I always go back to old videos and watch and learn ! Thank you Mr.grow it and Jeramy 👊🏼 have a great week and stay safe and healthy my friend
I live in Missouri unfortunately there’s not a lot of growers with knowledge of cannabis or organic I wish we had someone like you fellas here close. Glad you made this I may have to watch a few times to catch all this knowledge
One of the absolute best episodes for anyone..especially a beginner. All your videos from both gentlemen are great! everytime I watch I learn somethin new. I can watch any video x6 and learn new info every time because head spins and I start thinking and miss something lol it's a good thing imo!! Sometimes y'all remind me to go back and re learn something so Thanks for that!
Thanks for all of your questions and guests especially Jeremy been a subscriber to his channel for awhile. Mandatory for a part 2, 3, 4, 5. Really I don't think anyone would complain about all yours and Jeremy's great info. 🌴🌲🍍✌🍍🌲🌴
Definitely part 2! You guys are both awesome. Jeremy explains it easier than anyone I've seen I'm wanting to transition from hydro to organic and definitely made it understandable. You guys both are great asset to the community! Thanks for real!🌱🔥🌲
The Checking account vs Savings account analogy for amendments mixed into the soil vs Top-Dress is by far the best explanation of how nutrients work. As someone who has read enough about amendments and soil building to get Super-High on the Dunning Kruger curve, I really got things out of balance with my own soil. I think more needs to be said about soil balancing and not over-loading on one nutrient that may preclude uptake of another. I have mixed in all manner of amendments and spent thousands on things I didn't need. The one thing I have learned is that trusting in a proven recipe is more important than mixing up a gazillion different things.
Great episode, just switched over to the BuildaSoil way, so timing on that couldn't haven't been better. Jeremy is wonderful Host and guest, very proficient in his ways and easy to listen to. Love the BuildaSoil channel as well and thanks to both of you on the collaboration, looking forward to part 2 and season 3 for BuildaSoil.
I believe he sold me on organic soil growing. Also, I purchased a 2003 Toyota van that I didn't need. I found my retainer from 1997. Made peace with my roommate. Cured my aunts cancer, and donated $ to saint judes.
Listening to Jeremy talk either reminds you of your favorite teacher in school, or the teacher you wish you had. I really like his explanations and the comparisons he makes.
I started a small tent and grew along with jeremy's 10x10 series on my first grow and it's been the best investment that I can think of to date. In the Canadian legal market where good flower is ~ $50/ half q, my flower has been more fresh and terpene rich than legal bud. Mr Grow It's also been killing on this platform and has adapted so well to modern natural growing techniques and does a great job disseminating the information to the masses, kudos to both!!
✌❤from Arizona. Been growing 11 months. I always thought about my soil because I reuse my fox farm ocean forest. Started using happy frog soil reconditioning and worm castings. Now I amend with down to earth products. Have 3 3×3 marshydro tent kits. 4 5gal buckets per tent. My yield is about 2 ounces per plant. That's ok for a 64 year old stoner who didn't know shit about growing a year ago. But always willing to learn. U-tube is my only teacher. Thank you guys for all the information you provided.
been watching Jeremy grow for a couple of seasons now n between Buildasoil and Garden Talk, my grows have been improving amazingly! I build my own, in thirds like described, but for compost i use my own bokashi, worm castings n chicken manure compost. Rice hulls n red lava rocks with a peat moss base. I add in Craft Blend n use all as a top dress. I think the most important part tho is watering 5-10% by volume...I'm down to 4% daily with a day off every 3 days or so. I'm growing medicinal plants and veggies and all are doing fantastic...all I do is water. that's it!
Love geremy since the first time i ran into one of his videos researching 10x10 grows. Holly molly this guys a wealth of knowledge, also very charismatic great interview as always mr grow it your the best in the biz much appreciated keep em commin
awesome episode ...it was definitely a Banger .I'm pumped for episode 2 and 3 and so on with Jeremy from BuildASoil.. A tag team of true Professionals in their crafts.
PART 2 is definitely needed. Thanks for bringing the awesome episode. I’ve been following Jeremy on season 2 of buildasoil with 3 earthboxes. Watching this video as a trim and I’m to the opinion that buildasoil, growing organic with AJ with his awesome kashi blend and sub irrigated planters are the way to go. I’m not sure it gets any better. Love the content!
So many possible future conversations with build a soil.. Aloe, fungus, nutrient density, cover crop/mulch, terpene development, philosophy behind building great soil.
My local grow shop told me that build a soil is the best way to learn. I have been watching for 1 and a half years. Every run has been better than the last. Jeremy explains how processes work in a thorough way for anyone. The layman ( me) and the more experienced gardener.😊
Thanks to Jeremy Silva for coming onto the podcast today!

Great choice for a guest! You should be globally recognized as Commissioned Public Servant.
awesome episode ...it was definitely a Banger .I'm pumped for episode 2 and 3 and so on with Jeremy from BuildASoil.. A tag team of true Professionals in their crafts.
I really enjoyed this video, thank you.
I've watched this twice now. It's great. Probably not for the beginner, but Jeremy is full of essential knowledge. Thank you!
Build A soil is the best, thank you Jeremy, I will be ordering more products today.✌🏽💨
Thanks for the support!
this is pure gold... this is gonna be a big viewer
thanks for talking guys & sharing this with the community 😎
This is the best show yet.. at first I thought BAS was a joke.. nope.. legit.. just smarter, and faster than the rest. Thanks Chris.. thank Jeremy.
Awesome stuff! Part 2 would be great. Looking forward to Jeremy's next 10x10 and outdoor farming content. Craft Blend is next on my list!
I like the monthly visit 😊,I like two people with their own channel get together and put there brain together for us to listen and learn for free.
