EDIT: NVM NVM I must have been trippin when I checked years ago. I popped all my Gen 4 and 5 games and all my event legendaries and mythicals are still in tact 🙂 I am at peace lmao. Disregard this comment. Imma leave it up tho. I don't want to part ways with my babies on these games so are there any known reliable ways to "clone" in gen 5, like backup and restore after transferring everything?

Does anybody know if its possible to get Keldeo somehow in the older games? I'm not finding anything. I had multiples of them back in the day, but lost them somehow idk how 😭💔 Including my Victinis and Genesect. Yall remember when Dream world all of a sudden shut down? Yeah I may have left some of them in there by mistake. Genesect bein one of them 😬 I'm glad there's events for them at least, but those actual mystery gift Victinis with Fusion Bolt and Fusion Flare are some of the rarest out there now

So funny enough this video was recommended for me so I started watching and i noticed my Gold 3ds border and then saw the credit (thank you) and at the end the 8F Mew video. I'm pretty proud of that one and the more people that can pull it off while its avilable-the better. Great list and great video!

Don’t forget about the 15 only Shadow Pokémon between Colosseum and XD are able to get all possible Ribbons making them Ribbon Masters 😊
It’s worth noting that while Type: Null and Poipole can both be obtained in Sword and Shield, they are Shiny Locked, so if you want a Shiny of either, you need Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, since they’re not Shiny Locked in those games (and Type: Null also isn’t Shiny Locked in Sun and Moon)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Darkrai and Shaymin originating from Diamond and Pearl can not be transferred to Bank, as they are missing the Fateful Encounter text that was added in Platinum. These events were never distributed for Diamond and Pearl and are only "legal" in Platinum.
There's one more not mentioned: Spinda. Because BDSP screwed up how patterns are generated, they cannot be sent from BDSP to HOME, nor can any Spinda be transferred to BDSP. So currently the only way to get one in HOME is from Gen 7 or prior.

Worth mentioning that you can get the other starter Pokémon in ORAS by completing the elite 4, delta episode and beating the lite 4 a second time. They respectively give the Gen 2, Gen 5 and Gen 4 starters. So if you’re going to get deoxys you might as well pick them up along the way

I also recommend hunting for a shiny ash hat pikachu in USUM. It has a glitch where it won’t look different when shiny, however it will sparkle. When you receive the Pikachu, check the summary screen and see if it has a red star. To get the pikachu, you have to scan a QR code with the scanner. Then go to the pikachu valley where the mystery gift guy will give it to you. He is located next to the RV. This is a cool trophy that won’t ever be accessible again. (Make sure you save in front of the mystery gift guy) GLHF!!!
The pikachu WILL appear shiny actually. The shiny pikachu that only sparkles and doesnt appear different comes from the demo of lets go pikachu and eevee.

The only problem with going to the Mystery Zone and catching Shaymin that way is that it CANNOT transform using the Gracidea Flower. You need Oak's Letter and to complete the event for it to become a Sky Form.
and it can't actually be traded up in pokebank because it's not fateful encounter. The void glicth darkrai can be sent up apparently but only if it was caught on diamond, leveled to lv 50 and forgot the move pursuit (????)

@@Pandachu123 I find that strange because you can trade a darkrai to D/P and use a heart scale to teach it pursuit so it really shouldn't be illegal.
arceus may work in pokebank too if its caught location is hall of origin. (not 100% sure)

Incredibly interesting notes about shiny Manaphy & Jirachi:
- Manaphy can also be hunted in HGSS, not just DPP
- HGSS are the slowest games to shiny hunt Manaphy, that is why there is no video proof of a shiny Manaphy found in HGSS yet!
- Shiny Jirachi can also be found through Pokemon Channel (basically EU version of the Colo bonus disc)
- The shiny odds for the Colo bonus disc Jirachi are 1/7,282 (most likely due to a coding error, where Genius Sonority gave one additional shiny roll by accident being 9 instead of 8/65535
- Jirachi in Pokemon Channel has the standard 1/8192 odds for being shiny and is the hardest shiny hunt in the entire franchise if performed without glitches (basically speedrunning the ENTIRE Ruby/Sapphire games for ONE shiny check)

I'm doing it for the first time now. I'm doing a living form dex where as many of the Mons have my name as their OT as possible. And they have to be caught in the generation they originated in, only in pokeballs.
Started 3 weeks ago far up to Emerald.
@@vinny9500 I'm doing something similar. The only exception are mons that part of the family is from other gens. So I could hunt Magby/mar/mortar in either a gen 1, 2 or 4 game. Also mine are all premier ball if possible, only exception yet is shiny Celebi from Crystal. Good luck for us both! (Gens 1, 4, 7 and 9 are almost complete rn)
I'm doing a Shiny Living Dex of whatever is possible but since some are impossible to get in specific balls I'll stick with random balls. If I do have the chance to get it in one of my choice, I go for Luxury ofc.
But I've just been transferring shinies from Go and I'll probably just keep those in their respective balls.

for mew/shiny mew, another way of obtaining it is from an event in japanese emerald, there was an event in 2005 that can also be injected into your save file that led you into an island where you could catch a wild mew, that could be reencountered by running away, and could also be shiny hunted
also, all of the starters 1-9 are going to be in the wild in the indigo disk, and there are special research tasks in pgo for mew, celebi, and victini that can be obtained via level up
Gold and Silver have a number of glitches that involve renaming boxes. Worth looking into, as you can get shiny Celebi!
If you do it right, you can make it so every regular pokemon you find is also shiny, much easier to get a legal shiny mew on gen 2 as well
Harder to get Shiny Mew in Emerald.
You can also get Deoxys by doing the multiplayer mission on Ranger Guardian Signs with someone who has the mission already and transferring to Gen 4.
That said, you’d need 3 other people with the game, at least one of those with the mission, and get it done before Bank/Transporter closes. Mine has remained unfinished with the event for years.
I didn’t realise that you could access Celebi through Crystal VC!! I love shiny Celebi because of PMD, I’ll definitely be doing this soon
my tip is: do not sr on the screen, use the button combination.

I caught every legendary and mythic in ORAS with Premier Balls. The Rayquaza then straight to Deoxys encounter was.....a nightmare lol. Loved this video! Thanks for the info!
Shiny hunted Celebi and the extremespeed Dratini you get from the dragon master. Cloned them then sent the clones up to Pokémon home. Made sure I was ready for the closure. Got 3 3DS's with GSC/RBY on them with all the transfer apps on them.
Many of these Pokémon had events that you actually can still access by changing your din. Basically, log onto a mobile hotspot without password and change your din from only 0es to a certain code which you can find online. That way you can access wifi events. I did this few days ago for platinum and white and got Oaks letter, the ticket for Darkrai, the Azure flute, a bunch of mythological pokemon and some shinies. Originally i only wanted to change forms on my Rotom since in Platinum this was behind an event. But I'm more than fine with what i ended up with (none of these is in my team though. I really only wanted a fridge)
LOVING the game so far. Having a blast playing through a fresh version of Crystal. I do have one suggestion for the game itself, the GS ball being obtained via it's method right now with the ruins seems a bit, odd. Maybe, since you already have a way to get an early EXP share, you can have Mr Pokemon trade you the GS ball for the Red Scale after you get it from the Red Gyarados? It may be a bit early, but you can have kurt delay making the ball until after a certain point, like what is done for trying to resurrect Aerodactyl in the Ruins. Just a suggestion though!
Poipole and Type:Null are also worth mentioning bc they can only be shiny hunted in gen 7. They are shiny locked in gen 8 and gen 9 won’t have them.
I completely misremembered the date of the E-shop shutdown and did not redownload the Sun & Moon Demo. I still have my original Ash Greninja but it sucks I can't get more now.
Although I am super glad to hear about the Gen 5 Mythicals! They are some of my favorite Pokémon and I WILL be getting them when I can! I also might partake in the Gen 4 Mythical Glitch especially because I may shiny hunt them but because it is much riskier I'm unsure of whether I'll be doing so.
You forgot to mention that you can get a shiny Mew in Pokemon Emerald as well. I think more people are familiar with that than the guide for Red/Blue/Yellow while also faster and easier to do.

Correct there is 2 methods of getting a shiny mew encounter.
Same can be said for Deoxys
Emerald Mew and Deoxys were limited time events, though. And Emerald Mew was only ever released in Japan, so unless you can hunt it on a Japanese cartridge, it's not legit and not worth hunting.
@@mewsea1155 You can always do the hunt in an emulator running a copy of Japanese Emerald and then trade it to an English copy emulator then dump the save into a real cart and transfer up from there.

If you’re shiny hunting in GSC make sure that if you’re reseting using A+B+Select+Start and not hitting the reset button. I’ve been hunting the Crystal Celebi for 2 months now.

@abduk9488 reset button takes a lot longer cuz you have to access the menu and hit the button twice I think but with the 4 button combo it's an immediate reset saving so much time

As for gen V starters, they will be available in the Indigo Disk DLC, as all starters will be catchable in them.
As for gen V mythicals, waiting for the Gen V remakes is an option for those who don't have access to gen V games.
Gen V remakes arent coming soon. We just got gen 4 remakes last two years and remakes come every two generations
I was lucky to catch a Shiny Celebi in Pkmn Go back then I still played it (I stopped once I couldn't enjoy it anymore) and it's now sitting at Pkmn Home.
As much as I wasn't able to enjoy Legend Arceus for many reasons (one of the many reasons being too similar to Go gameplay wise), I DO respect it for give players the ability to catch mythical Pokémon without having them be locked behind Mystery Gift events, something that Gen 4 and Gen 5 was very much guilty of doing which I was not a fan of, even back then.
Same I Technically also got the Shiny Celbi event form Go
If I'm not mistaken though, the Darkrai and Shaymin events are locked behind preorder bonus and/or save data.
@@mds_main Save data. You need SwSh and BDSP to get both in PLA. Which is fair enough for the BDSP one because having a PLA save after you got Arceus gives you the Azure Flute in BDSP, and Arceus isn't shiny locked in BDSP.

Actually Deoxys is currently available in Pokémon Emerald, using arbitrary code execution (no cheats required). So the ORAS Deoxys is not the only one available at this moment in time.
Got any links to guides or anything? I've been looking for ways to get one, preferably one i can shiny hunt/make shiny, but the only ACE guides i could find were for gens 1 and 2. Anything else required an actual gba/cartridge, when i just have my modded 3ds.
Thank you for making this! Sadly I own no copy of Coloseum nor a Gamecube to get this shiny Jirachi. I did get the event Jirachi in SoulSilver tho a long time ago.... sadly I think that's gone too but I should check. I do have the event Celebi from either SoulSilver or BW I used for the event Zorua I believe. And I can't be bothered to do that Mew glitch lmao. I missed the events for these two in BDSP but I do have Legends Arceus. Still, the Darkrai and Shaymin glitches do interest me, and I have a Pokémon Ranger copy from way way back with an unclaimed Manaphy because I nor my brother ever used it. A legit shiny Manaphy would be super cool to use in Pokémon Scarlet!
It should be noted that even if you catch the Gen 4 Darkrai and Shaymin using the void glitch, you won’t be able to transfer them to Gen 9 as Pokémon Bank and Home identifies they are not from the event, since they don’t have the met at a fateful encounter tag, and won’t allow them to be transferred outside Gen 4.
You can use Action Replay DS to reset the Manaphy egg in the pokemon ranger, you can also use it to trigger Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus events in DP. Didn't realise I had so many rare pokemon lmao.
Deoxys is shiny-locked in ORAS, you need to get it on Emerald thru glitches. Jirachi can also be obtained thru Pokemon Channel in the PAL version (EU and OCE)
It’s crazy. I did the 8f glitch during the time the mewtwo raid for sv was around, the first time I completed it I went to duplicate it and it corrupted my save file. So the last day of the mewtwo event I did the entire 8f glitch, from start to finish and sent it through bank to home and used it in the sv raid to get the mightiest mark on it. Definitely one of my favorite ways to obtain a shiny and the payoff was anazing
Pomeg berry glitch + box code manipulations in emerald can get you acces to the mew, deoxys, ho-oh, lugia and latias/latios events

A way easier method of getting a shiny Mew is to use the coin case glitch in Gold and Silver. It takes a little work to set up but once you’ve got it setup you can do whatever you want with the game. Turn any Pokemon into another then edit it’s OT name and ID to match the legit one and bang you got a shiny Mew. You can also get Shiny Celebi or anything from the gen 1 or 2 games.
A guide from Crystal_ “Pokemon Gold/Silver - Generic Coin case ACE setup for any purpose (no item list required)” goes into perfect detail and goes through each stage of the process.
I've honestly been on and off grinding out resets to get a shiny Celebi for little over two weeks. No luck yet, but we keep at the grind
The easiest method for shiny gen 1 or 2 pokemon (including mewtwo, mew, celebi, etc) is the coincase glitch in gold and silver. You can do arbitrary code execution safely and not have to go through the brutal 8f method that will sometimes delete your entire save file. If you want more details I can provide them, hope this helps someone in their pursuit of shiny hunting.
I actually have a Hisuian Samurott that says its from Unova, since i transferred it up from my 3DS to Pokémon Violet, traded him as a Dewott to my BF (who has legends arceus), had him evolve the dewott, and bring him back to me. Its pretty neat!
I’ve been shiny hunting that Crystal Celebi for so long that I’ve actually given up lol. But I’ll have to try it again and hope for the best.
As someone currently doing a full home living national Dex Ash's Greninja and several mythical Pokemon have been nightmares to obtain. Specifically Volcanion, Diancie, Manaphy, Cosmog, and many other mythicals.

Ash Greninja isnt as hard to obtain than the video suggests. Just need some technical knowledge to get the demo on your 3ds if you dont already have it installed.

I believe that all of the starters will be back in the second DLC for SV later this year. So they aren't as necessary.
Also, Manaphy can be obtained from every Ranger related game. Though the "1 per cart" is an issue. To avoid this you can simply download a save file from online that has this Manaphy egg still on it. This can also be used for a ton of other mythical and just generally legendary or rare Pokémon. Pretty cool way to get the gifts from those games if you are collecting them.
I have been hunting shiny Celebi and Jirachi on/off for the last year or two. They are brutal. I am at like 150 SRs for Jirachi (way more time consuming at almost 8 hours) and about 6.7k for Celebi (almost 12 hours thanks to 10x speed on emulation). I can't wait for these hunts to be done since I'm doing probably the hardest version of the living Dex possible. What I've deemed the Sisyphus challenge because life sucks while doing it. Lmao.
Shiny Celebi is bringing back PTSD. I only did it for a few hundred SRs and I stopped at a point. Thankfully I was able to get the one with Dada Zarude from somebody but it'll never be the same. I want one from my VC Crystal copy 😢

I’ve been able to transfer a box worth of shiny mews. The only hassle is getting to Cinnabar Island, where you get access to Missingno. After that, it’s an hour to change your Trainer Id and IGN to match the event mew and then your set.

Changing the dns works with gen 4 to so you don’t need to do the void glitch. To get the mythicals
For darkrai and shaming the DNS also works for Gen 4, you just need to use either an old type of WiFi or an android hotspot
I just used the DNS trick to get a lot of mystery gifts in Platinum, including Oak’s Letter and other items. So I think that’ll let me do the Darkrai and Shaymin quests later. 🤷♂️

Worth noting that in Gen 5 there's a guaranteed Shiny Dratini and Gible in Black 2 and White 2, respectively, after completing the main story and beating the league I believe, by going to Black City/White Forest, winning a series of battles in a challenge and defeating the boss, Alder's son/grandson. And in Black and White you can encounter a Shiny Haxorus in a special forest upon completing the National Dex in Black and White and talking to Professor Juniper I believe. All of them are definitely worth a transfer and you can get endless copies if you do new game in case you still want more in those games themselves, or one in each gen/game/etc. Haxorus is my favorite non-legendary Dragon Pokémon and it's shiny is so freaking metal, it's Black with those red tusks. Man. The coolest. Wish it had better stats, but it can still hit hard and potentially sweep. Need one in my Scarlet and one in Legends lol.
Small correction. You only have to have SEEN all the mons in the regional dex of black 2 and white 2 to get that shiny haxorous. Much more doable than completing the national dex haha

PKSM will allow you to trade pokemon from 3ds to switch through homebrew. It will still be possible to catch all pokemon legitimately and move them up to pokemon scarlet & violet.
For Manaphy, is you can catch in legends and send it over to S/V to bread it and try for the shiny phione
deoxys can be shiny hunted in pokemon emerald, with the pomeg berry glitch (you can do it for mew's event as well)
I used an R4 card and a Mystery Gift injection tool. It injects the Navel Rock and Birth Island into your copy of FRLG or Emerald as well as the Old Sea Map to access Faraway Island for Mew in Emerald only.
There's another way of getting a shiny Mew in Emerald, which requires a lot of glitching and some rng manipulation, it might or might not be easier or faster than the gen 1 glitches, but the option is there none the less

Out the gate; hacking your 3DS and getting the virtual console release of Crystal is actually not risky in the slightest and everyone with a 3DS should absolutely do it. Not sure why it's being referred to as extremely risky.

I have shiny celebi on home because of pokemon go. Same with meleotta and victini. Just transferred yesterday as im not on go anymore
There's actually another way to get Shiny Mew, but it's even more insane.
Pokémon Emerald has been cracked wide open with a replicable ACE exploit. You can hatch a glitched egg that will set the Faraway Island event flag, and shiny hunt the Mew when you get there.
The Pokemon Go caveat only applies to mythicals and legendaries if I'm not mistaken; I was able to transfer my Community Day shiny Fennekin to Violet without having ever obtained one in-game prior.
All thou... consider the fact they litteraly sell a DLC witch let's you catch all the legenderies. mmmmm..... not a good look.
I haven’t really cared about shiny legendarys, so I’ll just be resetting the more recent games for a couple of these for multiple entries
You can actually get the gen 4 events like gen 5 but it requires an extra step. You need an unsecured wifi access (E.i. an old phone hotspot that can have a 2.4Ghz bandwidth or an old router). This will let you get access to Shaymin's Sky form

I proudly can say that I successfully did the hunts for manaphy, jirachi, celebi and mew! :D
one thing to note is that using the tweaking glitch to get Darkrai and Shaymin in Diamond and Pearl doesnt just immediately allow you to transfer them up.
Darkrai needs to be leveled up to at least lvl50 and cannot know the move pursuit in order to be recognised by the poketransporter.
As for Shaymin, no matter what you do you will never be able to transfer a Shaymin from Diamond and Pearl up through poketransporter due to the met location being flagged by poketransporter as illegitimate.
Both of these events can be accessed legitimately in pokemon Platinum, however, where they can be shiny hunted and have no transfer flags. Accessing them is the same as in B/W, using a DNS server, but it does require some extra steps seeing as Gen 4 WiFi Connection was older.
Happy to report I already have a good amount of these! 8F Shiny Mew (x2), VC Shiny Celebi, Meloetta, Victini, Genesect.
This video reminds me of why I stipped playing pokemon.
I really like pokemon as a game (in terms of mechanics) and the whole concept of it, but I stopped playing because I got sick of the fear-of-mising-out approach of their business model that they overuse - or abuse even.

Back in USUM I traded around and GTS'd pokemon for about a year to get all 807 and the day Pokemon Bank was made free I pulled them all out into Home
Pro tip : The mystery gift itens to catch shaymin, darkay and arceus (Oak letter,azure flute and the member card) can be obtained too in Platinum, i got those 3 in my platinum copy, i dont know if it can be transfered to pokemon home, maybe they can because the game recognizes the event items without any bugs or glitches, maybe is more safer to do this instead of glitchin you game
Man we talking about shiny celebi is easy to attain in Pokemon Krystal digital version after you beat the elite 4 and do the event. The egg you get from the daycare hatchet right in front of the shrine on a sunday you make your 3DS Sunday. Once it's hatched right in front of the shrine start the battle. And if did it right it will be a shiny.

Realizing that Pokémon GO has saved me the trouble of some of these. For the most part they’d be sitting in home so not really a need for me to have them go to other games
You could get shiny mew behind a pay wall in go a few years still super rare though
You can still catch a shiny deoxys if you insert the event into one of your gen 3 games! Not 100% legit if you consider the event ended amd it requires some outside manipulation, but it's still a full odds SR hunt
They mew can be sent to GS and you can use the box method to alter its DVs to make it shiny
You can perdiocally get shiny mew/celebi/jirachi in pokemon go. It seems like they'll bring a months long quest every year for one of the mentioned mythicals. You have 1 week to grab the quest for 5 USD, and then indefinite time to complete it. I randomly decided to log into pokemon go after not playing it since 2016 this year in May, and stumbled accidently upon the quest. It's currently the only truly legitimate and glitchless way of getting a shiny mew as far as I know. I still haven't completed the quest to get it since it's quite difficult, but I guess that's good to know... the next mythical will probably be celebi or something and in 2025 I assume it will be jirachi. So it might be worth keeping an eye on it if you want shiny mythicals... who knows, maybe shiny Diancie will be available soon, too

I just finished Shiny Hunting my Celebi, about 5500 Soft Resets, not bad :D
Note that for the Wi-Fi events you also need to be connected to a completely unsecured hotspot. No WPA, to WPA-2. So either dig up an old WEP router or if you're lucky, grab a phone and set up a hotspot with zero security and no password. In case it needs to be said, you should never ever use these sort of settings for anything else other than this.
It's actually much easier to get the gen 4 mythicals with the same method as the gen 5 ones. Using the same dns, you can access old events, and the biggest restriction is that platinum cant get a manaphy. This is actually easier than gen five, because currently victini cant be obtained in the sequel games and genesect cant be obtained in the original games.

Only ways of getting shiny Deoxys legitimately are firered, leafgreen, emerald and pokemon go when it's in raids. Although you still need the oras or mystery gift deoxys to even send to a game like bdsp.
I swear the iceberg for legitimately catching legendary and mythical pokemon, as well as their shiny cointerparts, goes deeper than the Dark Souls lore.

If anyone here has a 3DS but none of these games I’d definitely recommend homebrewing your 3DS since they aren’t available outside of reselling, I use PKSM too to access mystery gifts and transfer Pokémon from DS roms to my 3DS games then I can transfer them to Pokémon Bank (even worked with the glitched gen 1 Mew). Now I’m only missing a few from this list
