One of my greatest gaming feats was getting a shiny level 10 female salamance to help me through my Pokemon moon run. It was a shame I never bothered to get pokemon home... only the homebrew method backups.... R.I.P.
Definitely needed to say jirachi for an honorable mention in gen 3. 10 min sr per encounter if you do it 100% legit, or 2ish mins if you turn off DS while it saves
Cool video! I actually got my shiny feebas in Emerald after learning how to do RNG manipulation. Totally worth spending a day trying to find one of those dang tiles

I can see why this vid was well received. I know nothing about shiny pokemon, yet this held my attention for 13min!! WAIT, the vid is only 12min - well, that's because I rewatched several clips.
The Shiny SOS Salamence doesn’t really have odds of 1/40,960,000, for a few reasons: 1. By encountering a Bagon, you’ve already passed the first 1/100, so it doesn’t apply to the Shiny odds. 2. Only the first 10 allies called will be full odds, after which you have increased shiny odds. In Sun and Moon those odds reset after 255 allies are called, but they’ll rise again after knocking out more. So really, the odds of a Shiny 1% Salamence are 1/409,600, 1/81,900, 1/45,500, and 1/31,700, depending on which point in your chain you found it. It’s still insanely difficult to find, but definitely not the 1 in 40 million.
I've personally hunted every shiny obtainable in generation 1 (there are some weird quirks, only about half the pokemon are obtainable shiny) and the hardest are definitely any of the low-level fishing encounters. You have to level every single one to level 50 ish in order to check the dv's reliably, which means encounters are HORRIBLY slow.
If counting spinoff games, shiny alpha 2nd stage fossils are the hardest gen 8 shiny to get. They are only found in dimensional rifts in a drop table saturated with 5 other drops. With how rifts work, only about 6-9 pokemon can be checked per hour. The 2nd stage fossils post game, which is required for shiny charm, have only about a 15% spawn rate or so compared to the rest of the drop table, meaning on an average hour only 1 2nd stage fossil would be seen per hour. The chance of it being alpha in a rift not sure it is fully known, but seems like about a 1/50-1/80. Assuming 1/50, a 2nd stage shiny alpha fossil would take about 26,000 hours, or closer to 8,000 hours if aiming for 1st stage or 2nd stage shiny alpha fossil. This would be even longer if alpha chance is closer to 1/80. Have gotten a 2nd stage Rampardos shiny this wage, but of course not alpha. Compared to curry, the rarest curry pokemon is an 7.8% roll after a 25% roll. About 30 curry can be done in an hour for 7.5 found per hour. At 4,096 chance this is approximately 25,000 hours to obtain the rarest curry shiny drop (that galar snake pokemon) and 2,184 hours to get any shiny curry drop. Also, oddly enough, there is over a dozen shiny curry mark pokemon rarer than authentic shiny tea, and a few dozen rarer if on Sword version due to its higher authentic rate for curry.
Firstly, let me say I love that you say Bag-on. It's how I say it and I've not heard anyone else using that pronunciation. Secondly, you can get a shiny Salamance a different way. On Pokemon go, you can catch a low CP shiny bagon (or it's evolved forms but that's much less likely), evolve it using 125 Bagon candies and then transfer it to Pokemon Home and then to a compatible game. The low CP equates to a low level.
I’ll agree that feebas is hard to find in gen 3 but evolving isn’t hard at all you can just use the cloning exploit in the BF and just stack up on the needed berries for beauty stat
i've hunted manaphy twice now, the first time i got it no phases, but the second time i phased on a shiny starly really early on and got so mad i gave up lol
As a shiny hunter myself since 2011 I got my fair share or very rare ones and all legit from Alpha shiny Unown to a shiny vespiqueen in Diamond to shiny cranidos in legends to a shiny mew from a japanese emerald version that took months to encounter
fun fact, manaphy is shiny locked on the save file you obtain it on originally, so the save file that you just received the egg from ranger on will never be shiny even if you get the correct pid
I don't think I was particularly clear on this, I was talking about getting the salamence before leaving the first island, which means you wouldn't have adrenaline orbs, which would mean you only get one chance for the salamence! Hope this clears up what I was trying to say!

i actually had the shiny alola salamence. when i was transferring pokémon from bank to home it actually glitched and deleted a bunch of my pokémon one of them being that salamence. tons of time down the drain for a super rare and interesting shiny because of a dumb glitch
Honestly shiny curry hunting was made out to be way worse than it is. The friendship part isn’t an issue, and getting a Zard class curry isn’t THAT difficult. While it takes a while it’s not ridiculous.
Manaphy can't even be shiny on the first save it's sent to btw! It's best to send it directly to another gen 4 game rather than hatch it on the og save.
Currently in the middle of the manaphy hunt only around 172 eggs hatched. Want to correct statement that it hatches 5 at a time. Wrong. It hatches 4. You must have 2 active pokémon in order to initiate trading.
You found a little flaw in the editing there! I found this out right at the end of making the video, and forgot to change the text in the briefcase! Good spot!
Haven't watched whole video yet but I'm currently hunting hunting "Sanlit" 12.5% to be a female and the females are the only ones who can evolve 7 and a half hours worth of sandwitches ive found 12.....all male....
The bagon/salamence is not that hard because you are chaining.. Chaining will increase the odds drastically stacked with shiny charm. It's only hard if you're looking for a bagon at first because it's a 1% encounter rate. But once you're in a battle with bagon, if you're prepared and ready to chain it's not that hard to get a shiny salamence (it's still hard obviously but not 1 in a million chance especially if you're at 200+ chain already) there's just a higher chance for bagon to be shiny but everytime you encounter a salamence there's always 1/200+ for it to be shiny so I dunno how is that going to be a 1 in 4 million or something. Because if you do 4 million sos chaining there's a higher chance that you'll get a lot of shiny salamence at that point especially if you have a shiny charm.... 😂
I got a curry connoisseur snom and it was the most random thing to me, I loved the little guy slowly crawling up to me in happiness wanting to join my party, it was just perfect.

shiny manaphy single handedly destroyed the pokemon ranger economy
I RNGd Munip the manaphy egg. So much easier. But the set up was still hard. Had to do it twice to get it right.
My first shiny was a Ratata in Let's Go Eevee! My favorite ever
I have never even seen a shiny in a mainline pokemon game, Rumble and Arceus sure but never in a mainline
Shiny Manaphy is also shiny locked only to whoever got it first so those that never traded it before hatching never had a chance for a shiny.
I was able to find a pre owned pokemon ranger that was never beaten so i have a shiny manaphy egg hunt to do after i beat it
