i believe it's the Ramora that fits inside the small sheath inside the pouch. I love the BK7 but have opted for the Joker Nomad 6.5" as it's stainless steel and I live in the Pacific Northwest Coast which is a temperate rainforest and maritime environment. Every time I had my BK7 out in the field I was always concerned about rust, so the Nomad solves that problem and is a very similar knife to the Bk7.

A low grit sandpaper to rough the handles up, will make it feel like Micarta and add the grip these handles lack. I cut a small piece of low grit sandpaper and scratch the handle diagonaly (x shape scratches) applying much force while doing it. I also use locktite on the screws and finaly give it a proper sharpening.

@@JoeDoomsday All knives (especially factory made mass produced ones,) should be sharpened or reprofiled at least once before first use. To get the steel performance (edge stability and edge retention) that the blade can produce, they need at least 2-3 full sharpening sessions. Otherwise you get chips rolls or poor edge retention. Good news with Beckers, is the Carbon V steel they use (no,it's not 1095, it's a completely different steel, it's just a marketing trick they use), that steel has great edge stability, so you won't get chips even with the factory edge. You'll notice big improvement on edge retention though, the more you sharpen it.

Good to know. I usually just strop them on a leather strop with stropping compound after I shoot my review video. Then I only sharpen and or strop as needed after each use. I was considering getting a large belt sharpener to start putting convex edges on all my knives because I like a good convex blade edge. The Tormek whetstone wheel system looks like it does a great job sharpening a blade also. I’m still deciding. For now I use a diamond stone and sandpaper then a leather strop. Seems ok but not excellent.

It's a nice blade. By the time I had a sheath made and some after market scales, my BK ended up being around $300. I got a nice set up but I guess it was upgrade by choice. Got mine about 5 years ago

@@ChrisvilleUSA ,… Thanx for Watching & Commenting. I got mine for like $109 bucks and the Ferro rod and Dozier neck knife for around $26 bucks & the micarta scales for $50 bucks. I had the leather belt, JB Weld & enamel paint on hand, already. So all in,… I paid about $186.00 dollars. Which isn’t too bad. I did cut myself while doing all the upgrades. 😂 I love the Micarta Scales and the strip of leather in the sheath makes it silent. On a scale from 1-10, I’d say it went from a low 5 to a solid 8.5 🔪👍🏻
