I love that she stresses the importance of training and loving consistency from day one with this special breed. And like I tell ppl, please don't pursue or promote this special breed unless you are fully committed to care for him/her!
Amazing breed loyal loving and chilled. We lost ours on Monday and a void has been left, the house feels cold without him. Yes there was lots and lots of slober, snoring, farting and shedding, but it was worth it. R.I.P ........Tank
I'm very interested in the Dogue de Bordeaux. I'm just concerned about the overheating, since I'm looking for a breed that jogs with me every day, but also guard the house while I'm at work. It will be alone 8 hours a day, then I'm gonna take it jogging for an hour and then Netflix and chill. Is the Dogue de Bordeaux a good choice?
Leonardo Bauer this breed does not do well with the heat. I wouldn’t advise taking this breed for a jog an hr. They don’t need much exercise, they are more known to be lazy. 35-45min once a day is good time of active for these dogs. My Dogue de Bordeaux is 6 months , however we live in the heat and he doesn’t like to stay out too long. I have yet left him stay in the house for more than 8 hours but from what I’ve heard from other people who have this breed. They don’t do well being in the house by themselves too long . Then again , I like to think it depends how you raise them young. I do recommend this breed is NOT an outside breed. They like to be inside, close with their owners
@@leonardobauer6312 get a Doberman or a Dogo Argentino. Also I heard if you get Dogue De Bordeaux from a good and non AKC breeder, they could be good exercise pals, same with Neapolitan Mastiffs. But I would say the Doberman would be your first choice.
Absolutely wonderful Dogs I lost mine last year to cancer he was only 7 years old… time is precious with them make every moment count… RIP Hooch till we meet again Son ❤️
I don't know where are you from but in Europe you can find much more athletic Dogues. Mine has a body very similar to Cane Corso except she's little shorter and her head is obviously bigger 😂 Most of them will live around 10 years. I think their official life span is that short because of display samples which are often overweight or even worse are on anabolic steroids which only idiot would do. My varies between 48 and 52 kg which is plenty enough so I can see why 75+ kg male dogs unfortunately die very young. It also can do 15-20 km walks no problem while bigger ones get tired after 15 mins..
I agree. I have had three BBDs in 19 years. The first passed away at age 8. The second at the of 9. People keep telling me that I am lucky they lived that long.
Thank you for this beautiful video. I am soon to get this dog. I have been waiting four months for my dog to be delivered. He will be delivered between 15-17 June. Can't wait to meet my Tyson (yup, that's what I'm gonna name him). Super dog.
"When your puppy is growing, you don't want it to put on more than 3lb a month," if you bought a French mastiff pup at 8 weeks old, it would weigh about 18lb; If it puts on no more than 3lb a month it would weigh about 50lb when it's 1 years old. This doesn't make sense as a 1 year old dog is already fully grown in terms of height at this stage. The norm for a mastiff is 8-12lb a month during its first year.
@@tyschafer410 so sorry , I have my baby girl she is 3 1/2 years old it scares me when to think about that, and I never knew that until my breeder told me about that and I looked more in it ,we almost backed out but I took the risk she is our Darling , but I'm so sorry for your lost I lost my Bully before I got her again so sorry I know it is heartbreaking
I was given a 7 year old male that was kept in the back yard and never aloud inside the house. They never walked it and even put it in a separate part of the yard when they went outside. I couldn't believe anyone would spend a few thousand dollars on a pup from interstate and treat him like that. Now he's 8 and a half and he is fighting fit, loves going for walks, catching any of my pigeons that aren't quick enough. He sleeps on my bed and only goes outside when he wants, he is right behind me wherever I go in the house, .I can see him making 10 years, He just had his testicles out because one was growing bigger and possibly cancerous, so he's got less drive and happy to lay around more. I am getting a pup soon so when he does pass on I've got the other one to help fill the void I know he's going to leave.
I own 2, they have been the most caring and kind dogs I’ve seen, but it’s true they’re a peace of work, extremely territorial and they can be defiant before turning 2 years to see who is the alfa. They need to be socialize definitely because when they see something that makes them feel threatened they will go for it. Thankfully i haven’t had any problem against other dogs or people but you need to keep an eye on them when there’s people or dogs outside the family. They can have hip and elbow displacia so just to keep in mind. It’s so true when she said that they think they’re smaller than what they actually are because when they are young they turn into a wrecking ball that destroys everything they walk by, but i still love my 2 pups and they have won the heart of my parents that weren’t so excited when they first arrived.
Are they strong willed, as in they don't listen, or just listen when they feel like it then grunt like pouting children? I'm an experienced dog trainer, but have ever met a dogue in person.

Constructive tip from a cinema student : I noticed that the audio goes dark when some of the b-roll comes on, as the interviewee stops speaking. If I may, I would like to suggest taking some roomtone, audio taken without anything going on. We do this in every location. We take about 10-20 seconds of audio with no one speaking, with nothing going on. You can then slip that in through the narration to create a smoother transition. Love your stuff!! Thanks for the great content.
I currently own A bullmastiff cross and have been thinking of adopting another dog of similar breed. i saw the Bordeaux and instantly fell in love. even with the slobber ( my current pup slobbers like crazy) Id love to own a dog like this
Got a female DDB that now is 20 months old. She has a great personality and is friendly to everyone and everything. She is very curious but also very stubborn and extremely selective to what she will eat. She is also very careful around toddlers and elderly people. Overall she is a bit rough on the edges but with a heart of gold. If you socialize them from an early age and treat them good you will have the best dog you can imagine.
@@dagodlypug2399 had a ddb x cane corso, did some research he was a doguin de bordeaux. theyre smaller and lighter, guy stuck around for 11 years before it was his time. Beautiful dog and miss him to this day
Dogues are extremely family oriented and don't shed as much. They are easy to train if you start the day you get them. Bulls can be very stubborn, and dog aggressive. They also knock children around very easily, as they don't know how big and strong they are. Wondering what people think about mastiff crosses in terms of health and temperment. Looking for a puppy and very nearby I've discovered a lady selling what amounts to mastiff mutts.... father is a doge, mother comes from danes, corsos, and bulls. I like the look of the dogs and I'm impressed after talking to her about her breeding program and the dogs these puppies came out of... just hopeful that maybe mixed breeding like this will lead to a healthier dog overall.... thoughts?
Hi what they like with small dogs as they say they can go for them what I have been reading as I got a small dog and I wouldn't like to get one then need to sell it if they go for them thanks love the video
I love what you say about the French mastiff. We have a male year and a half old, Hammer, and we are thinking of getting a female to breed as well. What do you see the difference between male VS the female being?
My family had a DdB with a black mask named Bruce for 11 years when I was in my teens and early 20’s. At 155lbs he thought he was a lap dog but it was more like being sat on by a miniature horse. Overall he was a fantastic dog but I think we got blacklisted by UPS because these are guard dogs and if someone doesn’t come into your house confidently they immediately think that person isn’t supposed to be there. He chased a female UPS worker halfway down the block once took a chunk out of the box she was carrying because she gave off a really nervous vibe. Needless to say another female delivery person never showed up at our house.

We are a Doberman and we act very stupid but really we are just outsmarting our owners. (Before anyone complains, I have a Doberman. I love him but boy is he a handful. He’s still young)
I love my big guy. He's only 95lb, got bad knees, horrible teeth, and I put in a pacemaker at the age of 6. He's 9 now and he's the best dog in world. I can't imagine owning anything another breed. Loves to swim, great with people, not food motivated. Can be aggressive to dogs with hair over their eyes. Know what your getting. I recommend this breed to Paula living in small households, no stairs preferred. Be prepared for drool/kibble/hair cement on every surface.
Best DDB by Dogumentary Videos, so far! There are other breeders with the same or more experience! Not all of the best looking ddbs were heavily shown! But overall general info is good in this video. The DDBs was fully recognized by AKC in 2008 but has been around for many decades by FCI the oldest and largest breed registry in the world!
Excellant video, I am a new owner of a 11 week french mastiff..she is undeniably sweet. So what diet do you recommend and can you mix some raw or is it better to do 1 or the other
As here in France I see that everywhere in the world red mask became the typical colour of the dogue de bordeaux. I think it's because you can immediately see the difference with the bullmastiff. But don't forget, black mask also is a colour of the breed and unfortunely black mask is dominant so it can disapear forewer very quickly
My 6 year old French mastiff just started getting runny eyes and it's caused loss of hair and skin in the crease that runs down his face, the wound seems to just be getting deeper n looks really sore
I had a Dogue De Bordeaux for ten years very intelligent, loyal and protective. You must socialize them with other puppies and get them away from their breed, treat them firmly obedience training. She was amazing my daughter dog her boss who was a vet bought her for Tammy the dog pass in 2010 from bone cancer my daughter pass in 2017 still grieving for both of them.
I have a mix and he takes after the mastiff more than the lab and i worried about getting him the proper exercise, now i know why hes happier on the couch than at the beach lol nothing to worry about
We normally have Rottweilers, and lost our last Rottie, Zeus, last year, but haven't wanted to replace him straight away. A couple of months ago, my friend couldn't house his male mastiff anymore and asked if we would give him a home. So, we said yes. Marley is just over 4 years ago and settled in almost immediately. Like she said, he follows me everywhere and loves nothing more than to be with you. He's so easy going and hardly barks, apart from the times you want him to, like if he hears someone outside, or when someone knocks on the door. Personally speaking, I still prefer Rottweilers, but in the meantime, I'm glad I've had the chance to share my home with this delightful breed and it didn't take me long to love him just as much as my previous dogs.
Dominic Powell I wouldn’t start with a Doberman try something like an amstaff then move your way up to more athletic bigger dogs over years but I wouldn’t start with anything to big for many reasons
A rescue dog. They will love you and grow with you as you learn about how to train and care for them, and you'll be saving a life. The best dogs I've had were all rescues. Don't use any harsh training or punishment. Thi k of it as raising a toddler. Woukd you beat your toddler if they had an accident, or force them to wear collars that stab them etc. Obience classes are also a must for first time owners. All dogs listen if you're patient. Train them and make a huge deal and give them lovins if they do what they ask. And just say no or bad sternly but not yelling, and keep on it. 15-30 minutes a day is all you need. Make a game of it. And for the love of God don't keep any dog outside. All dogs need to be near people otherwise they become extremely aggressive and basically go crazy. All dogs just want to make you happy and sit with you and be your best buddy. Treat them as such. Cheers!
Mastiff Myths, Legends and Lore no that's what I meant. When she was talking about the breed standards and stuff she was saying "we like..." As a way to say that the breed club likes the Cane Corso to look... But its ok.
Lovely breed. I miss my ferdinand... he died at 2 years old because of bad hip problems. He got some operations and stuff, he had pills every dinner and so on, but it didn't get better, so we made a choice and sent him up to where we knew it was best for him ):..

My Dogue De Bordeaux body odour smells too bad. I do not know what to do? All French Mastiff smells bad? If there is some remedy then please suggest how to get rid of smell of french mastiff ?
I have raised several Labrador Retrievers & I even bred them. But....my lifestyle is now slowing down. I no longer keep multiple dogs. I only have one Labrador Retriever now. He's a puppy (10 months old). But I've noticed that I am now having difficulty keeping up with his high energy. I've also raised Rottweilers, German Shepherds & one Beagle. The Rotts were awful at housebreaking. The Shepherds & the Beagle struggled (as most puppies do). But my Labrador Retrievers always learned this quite quickly. Does the Dog De Bordeaux have many health issues/ diseases? Do they have the 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, but also 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲???
Reminds me of this military spouse i met at the dry cleaner Her husband was in my battalion and she said "When we went on deployment" "When we went on field exercises" "We only got 'X' amount of uniforms" I kept thinking she was a reservist but then i realized she was just one of THOSE spouses
Shiroshika you missed social skills as a child obviously bullied and hide behind a keyboard. Why the fuck did you make such a stupid comment. Is about a dog ffs. Go piss off someone else or go feed your poxy cat
They should live a longer and healthier life on a raw diet like the BARF diet. I'll be giving my boy his first complete raw meal tonight and I'll have the video up tonight. I recommend reading Ian Billinghurst books like the BARF diet or Feed Your Dog a Bone.

Where do I find a puppy at a price that doesn't break the bank Always looking because I lost my red Staffie last year house feels so empty Need help
The power of this breed is supernatural.
My dad recently bought a female pup she is such a joy to him and my mom I’m thinking about getting my family one
Do they sound like giant pugs?? Hows the breathing? Do they snore? Do they always sound out pf breath? Thanks
i would love to see a bull terrier vid, the mini is great vid too but i want the big boi.
Wow ! This is the first I’ve seen of this breed! Very impressed ! This video is Mossberg The Bulldog Approved✅🤟
Kochane Bordoski śliczne misiaczki😍😍♥️♥️💑🐕🐕
Love the Breed. Someone attempted to steal my Stella from our fenced front yard when she was about 7 months old. They didnt get very far. Lol.
Wow I could not imagine someone thinking they could steal such a strong looking dog!
It's really off putting everytime she says "we" when referring to the breed.
“We are a drooling breed” gave me the creeps
I though I was the only one 😂
We have a short lifespan.
She's just really passionate about the breed.
Ok thanks, thought I was the only one 😂😂
Best breed out there 🌟
does anyone know how to get my ddb to stop biteing and puppy training av tryed everything but its not working
Rottweiler or French Mastiff?? If I get both breeds, both males, will they get along?
Can you guys please please please make one on a bospin??
They are so so so good I have one on my own and he’s a puppy and he’s just turned one I like the best
I have a mix and he takes after the mastiff more than the lab and i worried about getting him the proper exercise, now i know why hes happier on the couch than at the beach lol nothing to worry about
very intelligent and lovely
love at first sight
Beautiful dog. 😊
Personally speaking, I still prefer Rottweilers, but in the meantime, I'm glad I've had the chance to share my home with this delightful breed and it didn't take me long to love him just as much as my previous dogs.
and...?
I love my dogue de bordeaux slobber beast!
I am looking to buy my first dog. What would be a good breed to start with nothing small tho haha I been thinking Doberman ?
Cheers!
Is there a miniature version of this dog
Those dogs in the show are like, it's run time? ok but not too far and not fast please.
These are my favourite dog. I’ve owned 2 in the past
Am I the only one who gets annoyed by her referring to the dogs as "we"? We are not in primary school so there is no need for this child talk.
Gabor Kerek I am too.
She was talking about the Association she is part of when she says we.
Mastiff Myths, Legends and Lore no that's what I meant. When she was talking about the breed standards and stuff she was saying "we like..." As a way to say that the breed club likes the Cane Corso to look...
But its ok.
Gabor Kerek “we are a very heat sensitive breed” 🙋♂️👀😹
She thinks she is part of the breed
this helped because im getting a dogue de bordeaux. Thank you
French mastiff is good for family. Kids. And first owner..?
Lovely breed. I miss my ferdinand... he died at 2 years old because of bad hip problems. He got some operations and stuff, he had pills every dinner and so on, but it didn't get better, so we made a choice and sent him up to where we knew it was best for him ):..
Good information. Great video
I really! Love to go to the Portland Oregon Rose City classic dog show for as many years as I can go to it ❤❣️💌💟💝💖💗💓🩷💜💚🧡💛🩵💙💕💞🐕🦴and I also really! Love to watch dog shows on TV
As well
My Dogue De Bordeaux body odour smells too bad.
I do not know what to do?
All French Mastiff smells bad?
If there is some remedy then please suggest how to get rid of smell of french mastiff ?
Wipe the wrinkles clean and dry them, baths once every couple of months work great too
I bet it drool's a lot right?
Yeah they do but you get used to it lol
Awesome video Angle
Is this a video about the dog or the owner?
Great vid, luv my dogue, best breed in the world!
Thanks for posting.
Hipdisplacia is common to French Mastiff answer please...
"WE"!!!!
..did I miss something or does she consider herself a dog too?
**slightly annoying**
She is talking about the Association.
Reminds me of this military spouse i met at the dry cleaner
Her husband was in my battalion and she said
"When we went on deployment"
"When we went on field exercises"
"We only got 'X' amount of uniforms"
I kept thinking she was a reservist but then i realized she was just one of THOSE spouses
Shiroshika you missed social skills as a child obviously bullied and hide behind a keyboard. Why the fuck did you make such a stupid comment. Is about a dog ffs. Go piss off someone else or go feed your poxy cat
@@focvl.point19 that's common, almost expected in officer families
Stupid
Nice breed, but they die way too early :(
golden mirror yes they really do,i had a male and female both only lived to be 12 years old
They should live a longer and healthier life on a raw diet like the BARF diet. I'll be giving my boy his first complete raw meal tonight and I'll have the video up tonight. I recommend reading Ian Billinghurst books like the BARF diet or Feed Your Dog a Bone.
I was gonna comment the same thing
Very humble and beautiful breed..
But for me GSD always top the list
My oldest girl turned 13 this year.
They so beautiful 😍
Is it suitable for first time dog owner who has two kids at home?
Take your kids when choosing your dogs, choose the dogs that connect the best with the kids and with you!
Good luck
Look there's the hulk. Lol
I love this breed, I have a little sweetheart
