Airman Cooper I served at Fairchild AFB when we had the B-52's in the alert area on 15 minute ground alert. I was with the 92d Security Police Squadron and we were tasked with securing all restricted areas, that meant sometimes if a OMS, AMS or FMS maintainer made a mistake entering we challenged that person and corrected the problem. We made sure the special weapons were always secure. I had friends from all of our squadrons on the base. I am sure I would not recognize the base as it was 1977 to 1982 when I was stationed there. Our mission never failed 24/7 no matter the weather. It will get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Thank you for serving is our great Air Force. I am assuming you have picked SSgt Holbert's brain to ensure you complete your mission. He seems to be an outstanding supervisor, someone you can emulate as you move up the ranks. To both of you, Thank You for continuing the mission of the Air Force!!!!

Is that the only base where they have the bombers? Or could they be stationed other places?

It’s ok if you’re. It a woman. I was a crew chief on KC-135s in the early 80s and was seriously sexually harassed almost every day. I was also drugged and raped by my TEAM and now have PTSD due to MST. Beware!

I barely got a B in college algebra, and I got a 73 on the math section of the ASVAB (my lowest score, but still pretty decent) you need high school math level abilities. I used ASVAB for dummies to study, and it worked just fine. Don’t let other people tell you what you can or can’t do, you decide what you can do.

Yeah, but there are lots of skills to make an aircraft fly. If you want it, you'll get it.

You said it Brother we don't do it right a mission fails, not a acceptable outcome. Way to go, keep them flying, Maintenance. Gives me a lump in my throat to talk about it after 50 years, DOD DOT and the private sector, and many life long friend's I now have.

Is there a day in life of 2A534s? Do you have choice to pick a type of Aircaft ? And how hard is to switch an aircraft once already in the field?

@@brandonsweeney5921 thanks im hoping to ship out in may. Thanks for the input. Ive heard mixed reviews on people saying its a difficult job with long hours, and some saying they absolutely love what they do. Im 30 and have been working 12 hour shifts for 10years but want a hands on job in the AF.

@@Harweezy it’s a hard job, but super fulfilling launching an aircraft you worked on. Especially your contribution to the mission. Average work day from what I heard is14 hours and if you have a good commander that has a good schedule set in place you’ll be working about 15 days a month. I love it so far I’m 18, and I’m grateful to be here and be apart of this mission. Good luck, you’re going to kill it
