Good tips! As a former Vegas resident who still travels there often, here are some of mine- 1. Mom & Pop restaurants/local chains offer some unique & tasty fare at cheaper prices. Some of my faves - Pinches Tacos in the Container Park, Skinny/Fats, the legendary Peppermill, Tacos Mexico, VegeNation. 2. $29 a night rooms or less are perfectly fine if you don't plan on hanging out in your room much. If you just need a place to crash & stash your stuff, they'll do. But know that you are usually getting tired motel room quality. If you want luxe, stick to the big name resorts. If you want quiet, stick to the south end of the Strip or better yet, stay in Henderson, where you'll still be within easy reach - a 15 minute drive or so. 3. Older hotels/casinos will always be smellier as a consequence of age. If you're sensitive to that, then research your hotels and make sure it was constructed relatively recently. 4. Cabs gouge you. All of them. I lived without a car in Vegas for 6 months and had to rely on cabs & buses to get around and cabs are pricey and always, always late. Buses are cheap but tend to break down often during the summer months, when the excessive heat gets to them. Rent a car or Uber. 5. Make a game plan before going to the Strip. Research and make a list of what you want to see. The Strip is loud & chaotic, a frenzy of activity, especially as day becomes night, it is easy to become disoriented. If you map out the places where you want to go ahead of time, you'll save yourself a lot of extra time and confusion. 6. If you're feeling overcome by all the noise & hoopla, a ride on the High Roller ferris wheel is relaxing & calming with great views. I highly recommend it. 7. The chilly weather in winter doesn't last long and tends to fluctuate. You still get some balmy days in between the chilly ones. And this is Vegas chilly. Midwesterners and New Englanders balk at Vegas cold. So if you don't mind temps hovering above 32 degrees, December/January is a great time to visit. 8. If you have a dog to walk or want to decompress, try Charlie Frias park off Tropicana & Decatur. Walking paths, a soccer pitch, even a xeriscaped, rock maze to wander through make this a beautiful spot to take a breath. Also, there's nearby Sunset Park, across from the airport, off Sunset & Eastern, with trails and trees and lakes, it's a favorite place for locals. Then there's my favorite, the Clark County Wetlands park, 3000 acres of wetlands habitat, streams, ponds, rapids and trails that wind all the way to Lake Mead. A hidden gem. 9. If you're a smoker the price of cigarettes in Vegas may take you aback. I don't smoke anymore, but used to, casually. Vending machines can charge upwards of $9 a pack, though it might be even more now, since I haven't bought a pack in 5 years. 10. Since the shooting, which locals refer to as "OneOctober," the police presence and security has increased throughout Vegas and in the hotels. I've stayed at 2 different hotels since OneOctober, and each of them had a security guard posted next to the elevators at lobby level. They also had implemented a system whereby when you ride the elevator, you must swipe a room key to get to your floor. If you don't have your room card, the elevator won't move!
As a former Vegas cab driver, I can assure you that you have a 75% chance of being "long hauled," meaning they take you the long way from McCarran airport to your hotel, via 'The Tunnel.' If you are staying on the strip, INSIST on them taking Paradise Road (or Koval) to your destination. Tell them flat out when you get in "No Tunnel." If they take the tunnel anyway, get their cab number, Taxi permit number (on the dash, with photo) and TURN THEM IN to the Taxi Authority. You can even call their bluff when you arrive at the hotel by offering to pay them what the ride 'should have cost,' or they can call a taxi authority officer to dispute the fare. Since this will take at least 45 minutes or more, and expose the driver to a costly citation, the driver will accept your lower payment. Sure, they won't be happy, but hit them where it hurts.
Uber is the way to travel in Vegas. Taxis are a ripoff. They don't mind getting stuck in traffic on your dime. It does not benefit Uber drivers to be in traffic so they always find ways of getting you from A to B quicker. Plus, drivers are often much nicer
John Do it’s not like that so much as you would think. Maybe some people. A small portion. Taxis lost a huge loss to those app companies. So now they want you dollar more. Every time I go I take taxis. I don’t fuck with apps. I’m a New Yorker. I’m not opening an app. Every guy I had took the quickest route, new everything and what was going on. Took our bags and then carried out for us. Wouldn’t take a tip because we were from NY. I obviously gave him anyway. Definitely not like the taxi drivers here in NY. I am sure getting an Uber could possibly be cheaper on some rides. But I took a taxi from MCCaren to MGM...6 bucks. And then a taxi from bellagio to downtown Vegas and it was 13$. Wasnt that expensive. Can’t see Uber being any cheaper than that.
John Do i hate taxis and Uber’s so much that whenever I go to Vegas I drive the 25 hour drive from where I live in Canada so I can drive around myself.
Yellow Productions I have a buffet tip. I'm not sure if Harrahs has the buffet pass still but if they do great! My mom and I would purchase a 24 hour pass late the first day, say around 7 or 8 PM and eat a late dinner. We would then use it for breakfast the next morning even if it was for a lite meal. We would then eat dinner around 6PM which enabled us to each get 3 good meals from the pass.
Yes, the JW Marriot is Summerlin is awesome, trees, waterfalls, grass, plenty of open space, and a great base for exploring outside of Vegas if one has a car. Only 2:15 in the car from the JW Marriot to Furnace Creek in Death Valley.
Thank you for the helpful info. One additional point...I usually leave a $5.00 tip for the maid (give it to her personally, otherwise the supervisor may sneak in first and grab it).
I'm local you can get a bus pass 3 days for $20 goes to the convention center, downtown, the strip, town square, smiths center , world market, outlets malls
This guy is WONDERFUL! Very knowlegeable and personable. I will NEVER go to Vegas but almost feel like I have when I watch his videos. Thank you so much.
I found this extremely informative and very well done. Thank you. I recently visited Vegas and wish I coulda seen this sooner. Everything you said was soooo true. I stayed at the Luxor and feel I did have peace and quiet in my room but once you open your door even at 5AM you got to deal with the ambience. I also went to Fremont Street Experience and was impressed but I have acquaintances who have traveled to Europe and it is tame by their accounts. I did find it fascinating and was impressed by the entertainment and the awesome zip lining they got over the street. It’s amazing I that one of my favorite history channel shows was filmed a few blocks away. I did enjoy my visit to Vegas. Just wish I found you sooner. Peace
Being a local many of Us are currently avoiding three places due to the high crime rate in those areas .. 1. Badlands Saloon 2.Flex Cocktail Lounge 3. Phoenix Bar and Lounge All three currently are having problems with housekeeping sub par food and bathrooms that are non-functioning not to mention car break ins and such..
happymike44 wow thanks for your comment now I no to avoid those places. I am thinking about moving to Las Vegas this upcoming summer. Is there any other places I should avoid. Could you please give me some more advice on Vegas. Or your honest opinion on Vegas. I'm in Colorado now. In your honest opinion should I stay here or keep my plan on moving to sin city ? I really would appreciate it. Thank you very much 😊
Tania Taylor my recommendation would be to check out Henderson/Green Valley, Summerlin, Centennial Hills/Aliante, Enterprise, and Spring Valley areas. Also gotta love having no state tax!
I agree with you about Fremont Street in Las Vegas. I was visiting my cousins many years ago and they took me there and it was fabulous. The music was from the 1950's to the 1860's and the people were dancing. To this day I still remember that. I urge all visitors to go there and enjoy themselves. There is one thing that I must mention, do not go before May. I did and I had to carry around a bottle of water during the day, which anyone at any hotel is required to refill.😃😍
Tip for hotels: we decided to stay off strip at the Palms Place which is a boutique hotel connected to Palms. We read that if you ask for an upgrade or offer $20 you are likely to get an upgrade unless they are sold out. We had booked the studio suite for $69/night and I asked at check in if they had any upgrades. At first he said no but then when he checked us in he said, Okay, I have you in a one room suite. Didn't even have to tip. Can't be $69 for a one bedroom modern suite. Now, Palms place could use a little TLC as some of the rooms and halls are a little rough around the edges as they don't cater to high end clientele but it isn't a dump either. but the suite was AMAZING. 1200 sg feet with a jetted tub. Corner suite with windows looking towards the skyline. Modern furniture, marble bathroom. Refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, fireplace, nice couch. HUGE shower. It was really nice, especially for the price. I don't mind staying off the strip as we rent a car as we like to drive to the outlet malls, etc. so it works well for us.
You should always tip when someone does you a favor in Vegas. Trust me. They aren't just doing it to be nice. There kindness should be rewarded because they can always say no and because people don't return the kindness many will say no, but it's good you got lucky.
Yellow Productions yeah I got caught on labor day weekend in bad traffic on an sdx I ended up getting off crossing strip and then using monorail to complete my journey from fashion show to mgm of course sometimes monorail not very handy like cabs etc as they dump u at back of properties and if u want say be on the strip u have to walk for ages thru the properties at least buses stop on the strip. Every time we go we learn new short cuts etc.
+laura meakin The monorail is definitely good for skipping the traffic.. but yeah.. it requires lots of walking to get to the strip from the stations. I'm sure this was planned to so that we'd Walk thru the casinos and lose some money on the way to the monorail! :)
Yellow Productions there is talk of it of course being extended to incorporate the airport and longer down to Mandalay Bay for the new stadium which makes sense see if that happens but yeah all about money.
Yellow Productions Does anyone have any advice on parking? We rented a house off of the strip but we want to see the strip to shop, gamble etc. Where can you park? If you valet your car at a casino can you leave that casino and go somewhere else?? Thanks a bunch in advance 😁
Forgot to mention that you can use the city bus to travel up and down the strip and into old downtown (freemont st). They charge about $2 a ride or you can get a 24 hour pass for like $8 and use the bus unlimited times and the bus system gets priority in traffic so you get to your destination much faster even with stops in between. I used the bus the first time I visited Vegas and now I use it everytime I go. It's way cheaper than a taxi, lyft, uber etc and you can chat with locals and find out good information ...you will get the occasional wack job on the bus though! Yes, avoid ATM's ...if you need cash then go buy something like a drink at Walgreens (they're EVERYWHERE) and get cash back. Also, you can get free water if your gambling and the waitress comes and asks what you want to drink for free they will give you a small bottled water ....at least I've never been charged as long as I was gambling. Also, if your planning your trip to Vegas and plan on going to attractions you can get big discounts if you pre-buy them online before you go. Also, if your going to be walking alone or down a dark side street that is not populated with pedestrians WATCH YOUR BACK, you might want to take a bottle of Mace with you ....I almost got jumped, robbed twice walking a side street back to my hotel.
Just started watching your videos on Vegas and LA, recently came back from Vegas and going back in August and planning on doing Vegas and LA. Thanks for the tips and really enjoy your style.
Hey Chris, Great tip for first timers. Buy water at CVS or Walgreens for just $1 a bottle. The Hotels will stick it to ya. So load up on the water at CVS or Walgreens. You'll be glad you did. Thanks for all the great videos Chris. Keep up the great work!
Scott McCarthy Thanks for the great tip! I do this myself quite often. I get my water and other stuff from the CVS or Walgreens. Water is much cheaper there it’s only $2 a bottle. It beats the heck out of the prices they charge at the casinos!
Stay north in old vegas and catch the metro. It cost like $5 for the whole day and they run pretty lucrative. Also, there is a Wal-Mart there and the bus drops you off right in front. Go on priceline or any other site with packages and diacounts. And fyi, all hotels sometimes charge for parking and all hotels charge for incidentals. They can be $99 or more but most give you your money right back once you leave the hotel. We always stay at The Plaza and take advantage of the buffets especially in north vegas. Have fun
We liked The Plaza downtown Fremont but next week we are trying Tahiti Village south Vegas. If you go on priceline, they can give you the best hotel rates, airfare, car rentals and you can pretty much filter what your looking for at an affordable rate. Also, southwest has awesome 1 way deals for flights. Have fun!
One tip for staying off the strip for peace: You can stay Red Rock Hotel it has a Kid Play place, Buffets, Movie Theaters. They have very good rooms and at the Kid place you can buy toys for your children. Another tip is to stay at Sliverton it has a Aquarium and at 2:00, 3:00, 5:00 pm Mermaids come around. It also has a shop for fishing and wild life. The reasons i know about this is because i live in Vegas!
I always find a cab driver, tip him well, get his personal cell phone number and it's like he's your private chauffeur for however long you stay. They come much faster than waiting in line at the casino. Works every time. Start at the airport.
I live in LA and drive to Vegas often. I've found that around 3-4pm on Sunday is perfect to leave. You are screwed if you leave anytime around Noon. You have to leave at the crack of dawn Sunday or wait it out. Pay a little extra for 3pm late checkout and just relax.
I stayed there Sunday and Monday before going to the Excalibur for 3 free nights a couple of years ago....reasonable rates, right on Fremont st...enjoyed the music venues and drinks..it was a lot of fun!. No resort fees either.
Hi sir... I just travelled to Las Vegas last week . Your videos on Las Vegas tour, tips, videos on best /worst hotels ..Every video i followed and I just followed your videos and completed my trip successfully ...Initially i was not sure what to see there ..Your videos made my trip very memorable ..Thanks a lot ..I really appreciate your work .. Would like to see much more videos on different places
Took a friend for his first adult trip to Vegas. Stayed at Circus Circus for the fun theme and classic nostalgia. Made the drive downtown shorter and easier and for our Strip trolling day, drove and parked at Westgate, bought monorail tickets (2 for 1 My Vegas comp) and enjoyed the ride to and from the Strip.
Another tip for those from the east coast. When he says dry, he means it!!! I was sick n miserable the first 24hrs. Then a dealer said "So what part of the east coast are you from"? I asked how he knew thats where I was from, and he said its written all over you LOL. So from the moment you get off the plane have a water in your hand AND pop a cherry "Halls" cough drop. I HATE "Halls" yet in Vegas I swear it was like an air conditioner kicked in my throat when I took it! I didn't taste anything but cool air.
KLG, I discovered years ago that it also helps if you spend some time at a spa. The desert air really dries you out and a spa is a great way to rehydrate. A lot of the hotels have them (Luxor, Aria, Wynn's, etc.). You don't have to go everyday. Just once during your average 3 day stay is enough.
The strip is not Vegas. Stop saying shit like that’s why bottled water costs so much in Vegas. You can get a gallon for 35 cents all over the damn place. Dasani liters for a dollar. The strip is expensive just like most other tourist destinations
You are probably the nicest person in the world. I See 20 Seconds of one of your Videos and i want to travel to Vegas with you. Would be a hell of a Trip!
A note about buying water: Though buying water from the casinos can be extremely expensive, oftentimes there are people selling water bottles out of ice buckets on the strip for just a dollar. I'm not sure on the legality of this (they may not have permits), but I guess I personally find that casinos charging $6 for water is much more criminal ;)
Next time try Laughlin, Nevada, 90 miles south of Vegas, on the Colorado River. That’s the place to have fun. Jet ski businesses are beginning to buy up all the cheap commercial property straight across the river from Harrah’s casino in Old Bullhead City, AZ. The area that you are showing on the left side (north side) of the park is exactly where City of Bullhead is developing a commercial boat ramp. Some places you can live in while having a great investment at the same time because it’s zoned for commercial but some places are grandfathered in already so they can’t make you move. Plus you are walking distance to the Colorado River and have a great view of the casinos on the opposite side of the river.
Yeah i went to Vegas and didnt think about tipping before i arrived and dont really carry cash. I know now to remember to bring a $100 to keep for the week for tips for the Valet, and housekeeping.
I've walked from the MGM to the Venetian with heels, I ended up buying flip flops on my way back, but the walk is not that bad if you wear comfy shoes.
First time I was in Vegas, I brought flip flops and gym shoes. I decided to wear my flip flops out on the strip. After a couple hours, I went back to the hotel and got my gym shoes. A ton of walking so wear comfy shoes!
These are very good points - that even me, whom live in las vegas still do not know. Especially the Trams. AND the new Fremont Street - which has more of the classic neon that people think about, when they think of old vegas.
Fremont street classic Vegas lol Vegas must have been a real shit hole back in the day then , and smelled like a cross between a urinal and butt juice.
Just a quick note about the smoking...I work in a large casino on the strip, and a lot of the properties are converting to non-smoking and most of the ones on the strip now have made the hotel towers nonsmoking as well. Some of the race and sports books are even switching, and all restaurants (except gambling bars like PTs or Dotys) forbid smoking inside. There is A LOT less permitted smoking in Vegas than there used to be. Also, for anyone visiting, venture off the strip! We have a population in Las Vegas of over 2 million people. There’s so much to see outside of the strip! Visit Mount Charleston, especially in winter-there’s a ski hill up there and we get snow up there every winter. It’s less than an hour away. (30-45 minutes sometimes depending on traffic and starting point). And don’t be afraid to Uber or Lyft! They have pick up areas at most casinos now! The taxi company’s hate it, but it will save money! And yes, the taxi meters in town will run on time, not distance. You will rack up dollars at a long stop light and they will take you the longest, most congested way 95% of the time. Don’t be afraid to ask a casino or hotel employee for the quickest way somewhere before you leave!
Thanks for this. This is so good to know before taking that trip. It really should be planned out. I used to live in Vegas and the tram really gets you around and saves energy 😊
We're getting ready to go to Vegas on a family trip, so thank you for all your tips!!! Your awesome and tuffer too. There are 8 of us, any other told you'd like us to know. Please feel free thx
When I was last there - admittedly several years ago - there were tourist buses called "Ace" and "Deuce" (single and double decker buses, respectively) that were pretty affordable. You can get multi-day passes for them fairly cheaply. Only if you have time to spare, though, because they make milk runs up and down the strip. I was staying at the Golden Nugget way up North, so it was an affordable way to get from the convention venue at the Bellagio up to Fremont St. But trust me, I also wore the soles off my shoes from walking!
TerrelLism same here! Vegas is my favorite spot on earth. I dreaded leaving and going back home to Long Island. Every time I go I usually stay for 10-12 days and I usually stay 1 or 2 nights in each hotel. MGM, Mirage, Bellagio, Trump, Ceasers. Usually those. I’d love to check out the Wynn or Encore, Venetian or palazzo. I usually go to Atlantic City or Foxwoods/Mohegan a lot more because it’s so close to me. But they don’t compare to Vegas at all. It’s just a feeling you get being there, can’t explain it. Wish it was more closer to me. I always say people are so lucky and blessed to live close by. They don’t realize it most of the time but there are many of us who don’t have things like this close to them. By me I have NYC and it’s not at all what you think, absolutely nothing to do. Just buildings to see. Just that part of the country over there is amazing. You got Seattle not far, portland, LA, Arizona. Etc. all in a days driving distance. My first trip was Seattle for 8 days, and drove to Vegas and spent 5 days. Best 2 weeks of my life.
Keith F that’s awesome. I don’t see any trips there in my near future. Some unfortunate events the past few months. So I guess I only can wish. I miss it there terribly. I always watch UA-cam videos on Vegas all the time. Even that brings me a small big of comfort watching them. Weird I guess, I know. But whatever. Glad you had fun. Next time you go, put 50$ on 26 at roulette.
It used to be but the place is nothing more than a neon trash yard. The class disappeared when they put in cheesy rides then it continued to get worse.
Yes, November & December room prices are cheap, up until around Dec 28/29 right b4 New Years Eve. We go around that time every year to look at the beautiful hotel decorations. But it can be pretty cold😨. Being from southern cali, i dont even use a coat until i go oit of town.
Yes that resort fee is the WORST.. I stayed at Ballys this past weekend for 3 nights and got hit with a $119 resort fee when I went to check in! I had no idea about it.. Needless to say, I was pissed! Most things you do in Vegas are already expensive as hell! Beware of that stupid resort fee! With that said, I still had a great time and am ready to go back!
I feel you! We'll be staying at the MGM grand for a couple nights which totals to about $83 in fees. But it's still worth it if you only like to go once a while.
@@lisasmita5379 Oh yeah, there are tons of nice areas in Vegas. Sure the Strip is bad, but outside of it there are tons of suburban areas to live. I live in a very nice area with very friendly people and it's actually not expensive. Lots of gated communities as well.
Thank you VERY much for your videos. I highly appreciate it. Kinda sucks that the things you need to know are based around "how to not get scammed", whether at the buffet, with taxis, etc. These are all must-knows before you go.
Very refreshing to re-watch your Las Vegas videos. A truly humbling reminder why one should NEVER take things for granite....the Pandemic of 2020 has shown all of us this fact
I'm a local and the comfortable shows tip is always the first thing I tell anyone coming here. Also, everything looks much closer than it really is. As for Resort fees...thank you. YOU are paying for our NFL stadium!
Armtz Matnez I stayed at Mandalay Bay June of 2018 parking was $15 a day no problem but any property that owns Mandalay Bay in any other Hotel you don't have to pay for the parking who went to Bellagio we didn't have to pay for the parking it's the same owner as Mandalay back
My advice is don’t go to Vegas to save money. Everyone has tips below of how to save money. Vegas is for living your best life and spending money not stressing about a few dollars 👏🏽
I discovered how big Vegas truly was when I went from the convention center to T-Mobile Arena just walking through New York New York Course I had to walk from hilton Grand Vacations to the station at the Westgate to catch monorail.
Don't pay for taxis..Strip to Downtown is $8 for three days on the Deuce bus. If you want to go to a particular hotel and don't want to ride the city bus (which is actually well maintained), use Uber or Lyft.
very good video and lots of useful info / you did not mention the Duece Bus and the SDX bus that has a day pass and you can go everywhere on the Strip and Downtown on the cheap
I walked from circus circus to new York new York, and back again..boy what a walk in scorching desert heat, but it was worth it, you have to see it to believe it,
Heck I don't walk...I rent a scooter for $20 a day and get to see all the hotels along the way, driving in and out of the hotels is a lot faster than any walk I could do and a heck of a lot cheaper than a taxi!! We drove from Fremont to Mandalay Bay!
Ya we went to the nearest hotel to get the next taxi in line and there were plenty of them. Also plenty of hotels so you shouldn't have a problem getting one at all at least on the strip. I'd recommend the bus if you go off strip, it seemed pretty effeciant to me.
One time my sister and I walked from the Rio all the way to the end of the strip going to the (some coast casino) and back. were both 59 and 61 and not in shape by a long way. We sat to eat after the trip and I had to have help getting out of the booth. I got to the room and just layed down on the bed and that was it until the next morning. so my advise never walk this far when you are not in shape and never walk this far when you have over $5,000. in you pocket. Don't be so cheap take a taxi. I was sore for 3 days.
Yes Chris you are right resort fees are the worst! I hate them too. I asked what you get for them and it’s not that much. It’s just WiFi for up to two devices I.e cell phones I pads and laptops. And access to the pool and gym to work out. And I usually don’t use any of them.
I have just finished Las Vegas in 3 days. I had 2 days all inclusive Go Pass. It includes everything (Vegas the show, bus tour, museum, Eiffel tower, Giant wheel everything..). You pretty much walk around and that 2 days pass includes monorail too. Also, you can always take uber pool... good deal
Go Pass was $129 total. I stayed in Westgate and it includes 2 free breakfast buffet coupons each day. You can eat there with someone or get one to go. Good hotel and reasonable price. (PS: flight ticket was insanely cheap too). Am I professional or what? :)
Many times I’ve walked from Tropicana to Fremont Street, I used to do that back in the late 90s and early 2000s, I wouldn’t reccomend it at night tho.. watch out for resort fees now too..
Thank you for this post. Very important for me because I plan on traveling to the Vegas area but as a solo traveler, so knowing as much info is pretty important. I wouldn't go for all that depraved crap, just to see the sights & take in a show.
7/2/21 Just back from a 4 day mid week trip to Vegas. Walked a lot, watched a lot of homeless people rip off the local stores by walking in and taking items. Took the bus for $8.00 from Paris to Downtown, the bus drivers were very helpful since my wife was in a wheelchair they got us to the right stops. Drinks are expensive unless you're gambling, but happy hour deals at some restaurants are great. Parking was free for guests at Ballys/Paris. The Million Dollar Mile shopping center had good deals and plenty of restaurants. Thanks for the great tips.
My friends definitely underestimated the amount of walking that was involved. I told them the first night... “we probably should t walk to far, it’s going to suck walking back” they said “nah, we can walk it” long story short. We called a cab back to the hotel lol

Good tips! As a former Vegas resident who still travels there often, here are some of mine-
Hi Angel! Great tips! I pinned this comment to the top for others to see!
I was worried I'd prattled on too much here so I'm glad you liked it! Obviously I'm a bit of a writer. It's an honor to be pinned, thanks!

Hear is a good tip, TAKE THE DEUCE.
Or just take Uber...
@@domodomo6168 über a ball ace rather just jump cab not all taxi driver long hall u
Ahh yes the tunnel
Uber is the way to travel in Vegas. Taxis are a ripoff. They don't mind getting stuck in traffic on your dime. It does not benefit Uber drivers to be in traffic so they always find ways of getting you from A to B quicker. Plus, drivers are often much nicer
I am the same way. dont mind tipping people who give great services but hate feeling you got ripped off
John Do I was in Vegas June of 2018 for 3 days I don't think I say more than 5 uber drivers on the strip
I was there in July and took Uber and Lyft everywhere I went. Love them all. Apparently, Lyft dont have surge charge at peak time
John Do it’s not like that so much as you would think.
I'm a huge fan of Topher. His comments are always relevant and his quick wit cracks me up.
This guy seems like such a nice guy.
Awwww
He does seem lovely. Call me crazy, but an adult who makes travel videos with a stuffed panda he named is always ok in my book
@@YellowProductions I'm in Vegas right now. Any recommendations? Ate at Sardelle for breakfast and it was excellent. I believe you mentioned them.
David Staiti David I was wondering do you love me? Say you love me
Too bad Topher seems like a bit of jerk
I feel like that panda would have a lot of very interesting stories if it could speak.
+kristen green Thanks for the tip on the buffet pass! :)
Thanks for the tip!
I just downloaded the app😉
Right that's what I got the last time I was there for a week the bus ran pretty fast
anna bella so right. This is the best way to do it.
We always buy the bus pass. No tipping!
1# take the prostitutes cards from the strip and collect them like yugioh cards and duel with another tourist
Lmfaaaao this is too funny😂😂😂😂😂
They are not kids cards.
LOL nice
Yup, my uncle collected about a deck of em
Lmaoo I see those all the time
This guy is WONDERFUL! Very knowlegeable and personable. I will NEVER go to Vegas but almost feel like I have when I watch his videos. Thank you so much.
Thanks Matt! You are so kind!
Thank you very much 😊
I'd like to add the area around Boulder Station and Sam's Town. Lots of tweakers near there.
Tania Taylor my recommendation would be to check out Henderson/Green Valley, Summerlin, Centennial Hills/Aliante, Enterprise, and Spring Valley areas. Also gotta love having no state tax!
@@taniataylor1626 how was your move if you made it? What have you learned living in our wonderful city?
+ShrinkDavid 1982 Thanks for the tip! Sounds like a great deal!
You should always tip when someone does you a favor in Vegas. Trust me. They aren't just doing it to be nice. There kindness should be rewarded because they can always say no and because people don't return the kindness many will say no, but it's good you got lucky.
I enjoyed the Suites at the Plams.
ShrinkDavid 1982 I'm Canadian it seems the hotels are cheaper to book separately than both the flight and hotel
What do you suggest I do
check to see if the bundle includes all taxes and fees. They usually do. That could be the difference when doing it separately.
On ATMs. I noticed the casino next to gloden nugget had $1.99 fee... I was shocked . that is cheaper than any in my home town
casinos her in KC charge $8 and up
+Pota Hoilic $8! That's outrageous!
you seem very kind and genuine. open heart type of person. thank you for all the information. and pandas are my favorite animal!!
Thanks Joah!
The tram that runs Excalibur to luxor also runs to Mandalay Bay. The sdx or deuce bus affordable way to get to downtown Las Vegas.
+laura meakin I did forget to mention the sdx and deuce. They're good.. except at traffic time. Then walking is faster! :)
Awesome. Thanks Robert!
Have fun
+Piggy Wiggy Thanks for the extra tips!
any specific hotels u recommend?
We liked The Plaza downtown Fremont but next week we are trying Tahiti Village south Vegas. If you go on priceline, they can give you the best hotel rates, airfare, car rentals and you can pretty much filter what your looking for at an affordable rate. Also, southwest has awesome 1 way deals for flights. Have fun!
Been following you for over 4 years. You are my go-to person for any travel recommendations. Thank you so much for all you do!
Thanks S Stewart! Awesome!
Excellent advice. Been to Vegas many times and he is spot on with everything he said.
Thanks Michael!
Great advice I watched your videos before every trip. 14:18 looks like you had a flashback of the Buffet lol.
+Joshua Hooks That's a good tip. I usually leave at the crack of dawn on Sunday :)
Joshua Hooks I kind of agree I left Las Vegas to Los Angeles June of this year around 1:30 p.m. it took an hour just to get to Stateline
So many folks posting Las Vegas travel videos here on UA-cam .. yours is by far the best! Great info and production.

2018 resort fees are up to $40 per room at some places....just be aware! Also can still stay Downtown at 4 Queens inexpensively with no fee!
Claudia Miller thanks for the tip.
Awesome! Thanks Satya for the kind words! I've got 720 other videos from lots of places beyond Las Vegas :)
I agree 1 Buffet per day! Usually when I go I only 2 meals a day. 1 cheap and one not so cheap lol. I will only go a buffet for dinner.
+Rob Ploeger I often do the same! :)
Go for a snack and do a lunch buffet later. It will last you all night.
I've been to Vegas many times but your videos are awesome. And I love that you have a panda!! :) :)
Thanks A Lee!
+KrazyLazy Gamer Hah! And that's why bottled water costs so much in Vegas! Makes you appreciate how the human body needs water!
Krazy Lazy Gamer The dryness is no joke. I’ve been in 115 heat w 4% humidity in Vegas.
My kids play sports all summer every summer. Don’t be a sissy
“Bouchon” is the best! A little pricey but definitely worth it!
And those same vendors collect empty water bottles out of the garage cans and refill them with tap water. NEVER EVER BUY WATER FROM A VENDOR EVER.
Spring is the best time to go to Vegas the weather is just right
I agree!
+Kimberly H I think you made my point exactly! :)
Take an extra pair of shoes!!!!!!!
Kimberly H I know right, what were we thinking.
Kimberly H are you lying
First time I was in Vegas, I brought flip flops and gym shoes. I decided to wear my flip flops out on the strip. After a couple hours, I went back to the hotel and got my gym shoes. A ton of walking so wear comfy shoes!
These are very good points - that even me, whom live in las vegas still do not know. Especially the Trams. AND the new Fremont Street - which has more of the classic neon that people think about, when they think of old vegas.
Thanks :)
Thanks for the tips Erika!
Don’t venture off the strip. Stay the hell there.
Thanks for the tips Erica
Thanks for the tip!!! I'll be in VEGAS on Feb 23 to March 2!! This is my 2nd time and so exited!

+kristen green Thanks for the tip!
We're getting ready to go to Vegas on a family trip, so thank you for all your tips!!! Your awesome and tuffer too. There are 8 of us, any other told you'd like us to know. Please feel free thx
Go to the smaller casinos where the locals play. I love The Cannery. It's clean, never crowded and has good food at reasonable prices.
All off strip and downtown?
No don’t go where the locals go haha
When I was last there - admittedly several years ago - there were tourist buses called "Ace" and "Deuce" (single and double decker buses, respectively) that were pretty affordable. You can get multi-day passes for them fairly cheaply. Only if you have time to spare, though, because they make milk runs up and down the strip. I was staying at the Golden Nugget way up North, so it was an affordable way to get from the convention venue at the Bellagio up to Fremont St. But trust me, I also wore the soles off my shoes from walking!
I love Vegas. It's my favorite place in the US!
I loved it. I want there last month(my first time) I already miss it. I'm ready to go back. Plan on making a trip there every year now
Keith F that’s awesome.
Miranda Brooks I live here.....that’s kinda true ☹️🤣
Had to watch this video again going to California for Christmas but flying into Vegas
Thanks that was very informative. I'm planning a trip for July, God willing, for my birthday.
LifeIsGood where did you book your room?
I feel you! We'll be staying at the MGM grand for a couple nights which totals to about $83 in fees. But it's still worth it if you only like to go once a while.
not really i just found that the resort fee is a scam hehe
I've lived in Vegas my whole life. Still love it!!
FellSansUwU ........safe areas / gated communities to move in???
@@lisasmita5379 Oh yeah, there are tons of nice areas in Vegas. Sure the Strip is bad, but outside of it there are tons of suburban areas to live. I live in a very nice area with very friendly people and it's actually not expensive. Lots of gated communities as well.
Hey Chris, after lockdown we are going to Las Vegas!
I hope you have a great time!
Yellow Productions thank you so much!!
Thank you VERY much for your videos. I highly appreciate it. Kinda sucks that the things you need to know are based around "how to not get scammed", whether at the buffet, with taxis, etc. These are all must-knows before you go.
My pleasure Jon!
Your welcome for the stadium! :)
Resort fee is an abuse to customer plus parking is a total rip off
+Armtz Martinez Amen!
Armtz Matnez I stayed at Mandalay Bay June of 2018 parking was $15 a day no problem but any property that owns Mandalay Bay in any other Hotel you don't have to pay for the parking who went to Bellagio we didn't have to pay for the parking it's the same owner as Mandalay back
Im coming to Vegas and LA next year from the UK. I will defo be walking around in the day deciding where to go in the evenings!!;
I'd skip both of those places and just drive straight to hell it's cheaper and has a better class of people and the view is better.
My advice is don’t go to Vegas to save money. Everyone has tips below of how to save money. Vegas is for living your best life and spending money not stressing about a few dollars 👏🏽
I discovered how big Vegas truly was when I went from the convention center to T-Mobile Arena just walking through New York New York
Course I had to walk from hilton Grand Vacations to the station at the Westgate to catch monorail.
Don't pay for taxis..Strip to Downtown is $8 for three days on the Deuce bus. If you want to go to a particular hotel and don't want to ride the city bus (which is actually well maintained), use Uber or Lyft.
I go monday morning for a week and i have never been state side and very excited
Enjoy Jason!
Jason Windebank lol three days in Vegas is perfect for me a week no way
"I'm Chris, and this is Topher together we make Yellow Productions " No. Together you make Christopher.

MsSaraKirkpatrick I
your cute nice job you do!
Leonel Maza no.
Excelent vid neighbor!
Everything is to the point and useful. Thank you.
very good video and lots of useful info / you did not mention the Duece Bus and the SDX bus that has a day pass and you can go everywhere on the Strip and Downtown on the cheap
Thanks for the additional tip on the bus!
Great job. I would a agree with everything as a Las Vegas native and Travel Agent.
Awesome. Thanks Kyle!
I watched alot of these, this guy is good
This video is so helpful for my planning - I didn't know there were free trams!
Thanks Athena!
Uber won't screw you over like a cab either.
Yes Chris you are right resort fees are the worst! I hate them too. I asked what you get for them and it’s not that much. It’s just WiFi for up to two devices I.e cell phones I pads and laptops. And access to the pool and gym to work out. And I usually don’t use any of them.
Topher is cute! I love your youtube voice too. Thanks for the useful tips!
I have watched several of your Vegas videos. Thx for all the great info/tips.
Thanks Bill!
This needs more views!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks :)
Just found your channel. Great tips and your voice is so aesthectically pleasing.
I'm glad that Vegas is putting my money to good use!
Thank you Chris(and Topher). TrueType enjoy arching your videos.
Thanks Carol!
I've never used an ATM although the banks have been encouraging me to do so since 1975.
Of all the "Vegas Tips" videos I've watched this was one of the most helpful!
Thanks Alex!
You didn’t mention the deposit hotel charge you. On top of the resort fee.
Love your videos! Wish I watched this before I went to Vegas! But these tips are so useful
I have just finished Las Vegas in 3 days. I had 2 days all inclusive Go Pass. It includes everything (Vegas the show, bus tour, museum, Eiffel tower, Giant wheel everything..). You pretty much walk around and that 2 days pass includes monorail too. Also, you can always take uber pool... good deal
+Tsas Tsas Nice.. how much was the Go Pass?
Go Pass was $129 total. I stayed in Westgate and it includes 2 free breakfast buffet coupons each day. You can eat there with someone or get one to go. Good hotel and reasonable price. (PS: flight ticket was insanely cheap too). Am I professional or what? :)
How did you go about getting this? That's awesome! I am planning a trip next week.
Tsas Tsas I can't get into watching shows is there anything you can recommend
Many times I’ve walked from Tropicana to Fremont Street, I used to do that back in the late 90s and early 2000s, I wouldn’t reccomend it at night tho.. watch out for resort fees now too..
Thank you for this post. Very important for me because I plan on traveling to the Vegas area but as a solo traveler, so knowing as much info is pretty important. I wouldn't go for all that depraved crap, just to see the sights & take in a show.
Thanks Valerei! My pleasure! I hope you have a great trip!
You wouldn't be the first group to make that mistake :)
Very informative, thank you for the tips. It's gonna be my first time In Vegas I'm excited🥰
Hey Topher, really good and unique tips! I don't see them anywhere else.
+mesaquecaiu Thanks Mesaquecaiu!
I’ve been to Vegas a bunch of times, but still learned a few good tips. Thanks👍
First: don't go in Summer. We visited LV in August 2017 and it was as hot as 40C (104) at night.
That's hot!!!
