Chris are you any relation to that Raney family of West Virginia, that put there hired hand in chains, then chopped up the family with an axe? Thomas Raney was his name.
I'm here in Vegas this week for SEMA...so crowded...booked room and flight using my chase UR points and got great value...bought local unlimited bus pass $20 for 3 days...the buses esp the SDX and DEUCE are so convenient and drop off right in front of basically every resort...very convenient! Also picked up a monorail pass which is a nice way to cover a lotta distance quickly to and from the convention center
I would recommend the monorail if your trying to get up and down the strip at night, because the double deuce bus is sooooo slow at night because the traffic is always so bad at night. I've waited 45 minutes for the bus at night before, and it still didnt show up. The monorail travels above ground so theres never more than a 10 minute wait, and it only takes a total of 20 minutes to go from south strip to north strip. Yes you have to walk a little ways to get to it but still, definetely cheaper and FASTER than a bus or even a Uber.
The McCarran rental car experience I rank 2nd worst behind renting at La Guardia. The rental car experience at LGA requires you to take a bus to get to the individual rental car buses (at least until the new terminal is completed). Last time I flew into LAS the wait for the shuttle was 20 minutes and by that time 5 buses worth of people had lined up. At least they sent 5 buses to take us all over there. I'm sure DFW is a pain in the neck too, but DFW is my home airport. I can't really speak to the DFW rental experience. I'd highly recommend getting a black-car or Uber/Lyft to take you to your hotel and see if the hotel has a rental car counter. Tropicana has Enterprise and the Flamingo had Hertz 5 years ago.
Always appreciate your hard work that goes into these videos and livestreams Chris! I've visited Las Vegas twice and I'm lucky to have a friend that lives there so I've saved a ton by being able to stay at their place. It's also great for seeing the local side to Las Vegas since our main focus isn't the strip :)
I like your LV videos the most! They always get me ready for a trip out west. You're spot on about rental cars; the rental center is too far away from the strip. It is an added hassle as you're trying to get to and from the airport. A player's club membership can cut can cut your hotel bill at least in half, and gives free parking. I've wanted to try SW airlines, but they don't always have a direct FL to LV flight. It is seasonal every time I've checked .........
Love your videos. All your tips are right on the money. I'm going back to Vegas in early December for the 8th time. I'm staying at Bally's in a Resort room with a view of the strip for $238 Sunday to Wednesday all fees included. My free players club membership and the time of year saved me over $150. If you are a first timer Bally's is in the center of the strip across from the Bellagio & Caesars and the rooms were recently redone. It's a great location to see the most without walking all day one way. There is also a walk way in front of Bally's that allows you to walk across to the opposite side to see the Bellagio.
My husband and I stayed at Sam's Town overlooking their Christmas-lights decorated atrium. It was so pretty. They have a convenient shuttle to the strip that stops at Harrah's which is right in the middle of everything. We went over to the Caesar's Palace buffet (it was Monday, Dec. 23, 2019) and the line was insane! So we went to Aria's using the Bellagio/Aria monorail. Aria had holiday pricing on their buffet ($55). We checked it out but decided it wasn't worth it. Anyway, my best tip is to stay at Sam's Town for the holidays because it's quieter and the shuttle is great. It gives you a chance to rest after all that walking. Our favorite part of our trip was all the free stuff like the Bellagio fountains. Go see the fountains at the top of the hour after the sun goes down because that's when they really turned it up. We saw the gingerbread house at the Cosmopolitan which was cute and the Christmas display at the Bellagio garden inside. That was cool. All free. We wanted to go ice skating at the Cosmopolitan but it was raining pretty good so maybe next year.
Great chat, Chris! Love your travel style. Your hotel recommendations are always spot on. Conferences drive up hotel rates in all cities but I imagine Vegas is one of the most significant.
One great reason to check the hotel websites in Vegas rather than using a third-party site is that most of the major hotels will publish their nightly rates months in advance on an easy to read monthly calendar. If your travel plans are flexible, you can scan through the available nights to find the cheapest times to stay. This also automatically filters out the weekend (although you can find cheaper weekends using this same tip), convention weeks, and other special events
Hi Chris. Good tip. I always go to Las Vegas during the week. Also I don’t know if you mentioned it. But another good way to save money is to get your water bottles from a Cvs or Walgreens pharmacy.
The Luxor is awesome if you get a room in the tower and not the pyramid. The tower rooms are newer and pretty nice! Plus the hotel lobby is awesome and has the E game arena
We have stayed at the Luxor numerous times over the last year and a half. We typically get the Tower One Bedroom Suite and it is NICE! Tried a basic room once and before settling in we upgraded to a 1200 sq. ft premier suite for only $28 more a night. Their basic rooms are just that, a basic hotel room, but their suites are really nice. Their suites aren't really that expensive either...they're cheaper than some of the basic rooms at some of the other hotels along the strip. Plus, gotta love the architectural design inside and outside of Luxor! Definitely a place to visit, even for those who are not staying there.
It's cheap but it's out of the way, and tons of walking or cabbing. I've stayed there twice and it's not worth the extra walking, I'd rather be in the middle of the strip.

Hey, one thing I have not heard is shopping for food and liquor on your way to the airport. What we do every time we go to Vegas is we Uber from the airport and go to Vons grocery store, which is on the way to the strip. We then usually buy about $100 worth of food and liquor and that is usually all we spend, other than a dinner or 2 eating out.

gotta go off-strip for great (affordable) asian food, especially chinese....basically anything on W Spring Mountain Rd....thai, vietnamese, korean, japanese sushi, ramen and robata skewers, shabu shabu, all varieties of chinese including taiwanese, and then there are the asian bakeries, even a tiki bar.....multiple strip malls, Chinatown Plaza the largest....10 min cab ride from the strip.....enjoy!
Based on your previous recommendations I tried the Aria buffet...i thought it was just okay...dinner was $40... For $45 I think the Wynn buffet is much much better... Everything tasted good 👍🏼
My tip for the Deuce bus is to sit on the 2nd level. The first level is super crowded and congested and filled with drama. One time an angry passenger got into a verbal argument with the bus driver and threatened to call the fire marshal on the driver because the bus was super crowded on the 1st level.
Have to dispute your comment about $15 call-in fee...I personally work in call-in reservations for one of your favorite casino/hotels...been there 12 yrs+ and never had a fee of any kind for calling in..plus by calling in and you're nice and just ask, we have empowerments..meaning I can offer level up with better view (costs extra online) and if you want connecting rooms etc. Talking to agent on phone can give these as courtesy many times. :)
@K Edwards I have also found this to be true for the most part, also. And while they many times say we shouldn't do this, they generally will match the online price if it's accurate and you ask them. I do enjoy talking to a real person. :)
I don't know if you mentioned in this video or other of your Las Vegas videos, but I'm going in the summer (beginning august) over there. You mentioned to go during the weekday and I'm going on Thursday and leaving on Monday. Would that affect the cost of the hotel or the price is already set on that thursday? Sorry about the question, but it's my first time going on a trip with a friend and I don't want to be unprepared.
Really informative video, Chris. My fiancé and I have done quite a few Vegas trips the past few years and this will definitely help save even more money for our next trip. Next video should be about best cheap eats or hotels off the strip.
I'm new to your channel. I used to live in Vegas. Many times actually. Since I was a fetus in fact. I think you are pretty close to Rick Steves. That's a compliment from me. I never really payed for much on the strip but I lived a mile from the Flamingo if you were headed to Boulder Highway. I never pain for the strip bus. I always got a bus off strip because the pass was cheaper and still worked.
@Gina Troutman This is a "it depends" question. Sometimes it's reasonable; sometimes its expensive. Dynamic pricing in a way. But play with the MLife website and the offers there and you will see more than one price for the same stay dates. It definitely helps to be a MLife member for this hotel; guaranteed at least a minor discount no matter what level from rack rate.
So I'm staying at the Aria for a few days starting Sunday. I'll be getting a rental car and they charge for parking in the Aria garage, unfortunately. What is the closest, safe, free parking area to the Aria? My research shows it's probably the Tropicana Self Parking. Is this correct?

I stayed at the hilton grand vacations hotel by the convention center. I have hilton diamond status and they said none of those perks apply to the grand vacations line of hotels. I usually get free breakfast, and room upgrades at hilton and hilton affiliates but not there. If you're looking to stay for customer loyalty perks I wouldn't stay there. They did charge a 33 dollar resort fee so even though its not a resort. Also they do not have any gambling in that hotel.
Todd Samson we stayed at Harrah’s for six days they placed a $500 incidental fee on my card, until I spoke with with management and they reduced it to $100....I told them if they wanted me to gamble in their casino they need to free up my money 😂
I booked a week at Tahiti village through Airbnb. Asked the renter if there were any resort fees or deposits. He said there wasn’t. Do you think there will be any hidden fees even though he said there wasn’t
I see you were there awhile ago. I got on a shuttle and it will take you to any of the major hotels, there is a minimal charge. My parents lived in Vegas so they would pick me up.
Damn, I missed the chance to ask a live question. I'm trying to MOVE to Vegas, and I want to visit, but I want to visit for at least a week or two... so I'm looking for tips to stay a full WEEK in Vegas.
Love all your tips and tricks... I know You mentioned myvegas for MGM rewards... Does Ceasars have a rewards earning slot game in play store??? Also, Love chubby bear... Miss Topher! It be awesome if the thief returned him...
I love most of the tips on this video, but I respectfully disagree with your assessment of downtown. With the improvements, it is really becoming a decent option in terms of places to stay. Better gambling odds, cheaper rooms, and most everything is in walking distance. There are no more safety issues on Fremont street itself than you would encounter on the Strip. Going off of Fremont can get sketchy, but the same is true if you walk just a few blocks east or west of the strip!
I think the resort fees are ridiculous. I wish they would just do away with the resort fees and just raise the price of the hotel that way you know what you're paying for when you book it instead of being surprised at the end of booking with resort fees
They do it so they don't have to share the revenue with the third party travel sites so they won't get rid of them unless people stop going. Also they can waive the resort fees for their better customers which is cheaper than comping them a room.
I went to time share presentation 8 yrs ago for free tickets and we wasted a whole day with that crap!! Even messed another show we had planned because of it. I believe it took about 6 or 7 hrs they had us there. Everyone was pissed.!
everyone who does these Vegas suggestion videos discourages this unless you have extra days and are willing to see the LONG presentations. They are ALWAYS longer than they tell you they are and everyone has their own "hard sell". Unless truly interested, it's not worth the second class tickets or stuff they offer.
As a hotel guest? Or visitor? Self Parking or Valet? They don't have any ticket machines or paystations at the parking garage for the miracle mile shops
I haven't been vegas is over10 yrs. I will not go back because of all the added on fees, resort fee? Parking fee? Deposit fee? Plus the room rate? Forget about it! So not worth it anymore.
Very soon, everything you do is going to have a fee. When you check out the clerk is going to inform you that you owe $100,000 dollars because unlocking and opening doors have fees, opening and closing closets and drawers have fees, seating on the toilet has fees, flushing the toilet has fees and breathing has fees.

I don't use AirBNB so your guess is as good as mine :)
Yellow Productions thanks for the quick reply.
Hey, what’s your opinion on staying in Vdara, would you recommend it for a couple?
How do you get from the airport to the hotel with no rental car
Uber, Lyft, Taxi, Shared ride shuttle, Limo
I see you were there awhile ago. I got on a shuttle and it will take you to any of the major hotels, there is a minimal charge. My parents lived in Vegas so they would pick me up.
Hey Sen McQuire, please I need your help for clubs admission if your offer to help still stands. Thanks
Hi
Can u plz name THE BEST authentic BRAZILIAN(ramkwise) restraunts in vegas n sf?
Texas de Brazil or Pampas at the planet Hollywood
@@raymundochavira8853
Both equally good??
@@sehrajsinghvirk5273 yeah!!!
Thanks Hazel! We miss Topher too!
And I'm unaware of a slot earning game for Ceasars on mobile devices
Caesars definitely has a phone app to play slot games but you don't earn like on the MLife slot app "My Vegas"
What’s your opinion on The Sahara?
Can i carrry 2 bags in busses from sf 2 la and la 2 vegas?
Ondori Grill at The Orleans $5 Happy Hour Sushi and Broccoli Beef Chow Mein.
Thanks for the tip Julie!
Is the flamingo hotel oka .
The drinks in casino royal are really cheap, a gin and tonic and a beer $7,, other hotels and casinos can be $30-40 🍺👍
Thanks for the tip on Casino Royale!
That's a stretch
I can attest that Caesars Palace buffet is WAY too expensive. It’s good but not worth $55 for breakfast just because it’s a weekend. That’s each plate
Only rich folks go there. We don't belong there.
can i kiss u
Would you stay at golden nugget?
I think golden nugget is decent
I love most of the tips on this video, but I respectfully disagree with your assessment of downtown. With the improvements, it is really becoming a decent option in terms of places to stay. Better gambling odds, cheaper rooms, and most everything is in walking distance. There are no more safety issues on Fremont street itself than you would encounter on the Strip. Going off of Fremont can get sketchy, but the same is true if you walk just a few blocks east or west of the strip!
People rent out their timeshare points. Best way to have an extended stay. Especially if you book during the week.
I think the resort fees are ridiculous. I wish they would just do away with the resort fees and just raise the price of the hotel that way you know what you're paying for when you book it instead of being surprised at the end of booking with resort fees
They sure are!
They do it so they don't have to share the revenue with the third party travel sites so they won't get rid of them unless people stop going. Also they can waive the resort fees for their better customers which is cheaper than comping them a room.
How's the Paris Hotel?
Decent
I loved Paris. It has a great pool. And the ambiance.
Awesome UA-cam video
Thanks Stephen!
I think the toothpaste is haunted because a spirit orb came out of your hairline at 35:53.
I went to time share presentation 8 yrs ago for free tickets and we wasted a whole day with that crap!! Even messed another show we had planned because of it. I believe it took about 6 or 7 hrs they had us there. Everyone was pissed.!
I went to one in vegas for 3 hours. They offer food and 100 gift card. It was okay, the annoying part was them insisting to buy time share. Lol
everyone who does these Vegas suggestion videos discourages this unless you have extra days and are willing to see the LONG presentations. They are ALWAYS longer than they tell you they are and everyone has their own "hard sell". Unless truly interested, it's not worth the second class tickets or stuff they offer.
Last week cost me $16 to park one hour at Excalibur 12/2021
Ouch
Wicked Spoon sucks! I've been several times, it's way over-rated. The last time I went, it was comp, and it still sucked even being free!
What's your favorite buffet?
Planet Hollywood charged me for parking when I was there last May.
As a hotel guest? Or visitor? Self Parking or Valet? They don't have any ticket machines or paystations at the parking garage for the miracle mile shops
Best way from airport to hotel
Taxi or Uber
I saved alot of my on my Vegas trip by not going cause I'm too poor to travel
Haha, same!😂
Excellent my friend.
I haven't been vegas is over10 yrs. I will not go back because of all the added on fees, resort fee? Parking fee? Deposit fee? Plus the room rate? Forget about it! So not worth it anymore.
best pizza is pizza rock next to downtown grand
The Orleans has free parking.
Left of one: act like a local. Since I lived in Vegas briefly, I head to the grocery store or similar to stock up,
Very soon, everything you do is going to have a fee. When you check out the clerk is going to inform you that you owe $100,000 dollars because unlocking and opening doors have fees, opening and closing closets and drawers have fees, seating on the toilet has fees, flushing the toilet has fees and breathing has fees.
There's a fee to pay the fee :)
@@YellowProductions Not sure about casinos but isn't that what happens at some stores when you use credit cards. Surprised that don't already do that.
the mirage is the best hotel in LV
You remind me of Gregg Turkington.
and to think i was trying to organise a trip to vegas from ireland i guess after this video i wont bother lol sounds to complicated
Nope…bed bugs came home with me and it took two months to get rid of them.
Ooof
A buffet and snacks can cover one full day
Definitely! Or my favorite. A buffet and Earl of Sandwich! :)
Magnum condoms like ya videos haha
16:20 lmao
Great video. I really hope to do a video with you someday. You really do your live stream professionally. I am based in Asia. If u are here you really got to hit me up.
Thanks LostXBert.. what part of Asia are you in?
@@YellowProductions I'm in Taiwan making a video now but I have been living in Beijing 8 years off and on. I have traveled a lot though. I just started doing UA-cam 1 year ago. I have been watching ur channel for 2 years about. Keep up the great videos man.
