Cool video fun winter catch. The trout in lake Tahoe have red meat from all the crayfish that they feed on. Its a carotenoid called (astaxithin) in the shells.
@wildernesswithamani1027 yeah they taste great better then the stocked ones that haven't had the time to build up the astaxithin in their meat. It also has heath benefits, from what I've read, algae and yeast produce and accumulate astaxanthin naturally. It serves as a food source for marine species like crawfish, lobster, krill, salmon, trout, shrimp, and crab, that transfer this pigment up the food chain. Crustaceans accumulate astaxanthin in their shells and flesh, while salmon and trout build up this pigment in their flesh. Consuming seafood rich in astaxanthin can provide you with certain health benefits. I cant wait to get em! keep the videos coming!
The ice on the boulders at the lake edge wasn't that bad surprisingly. Sometimes it can be straight up deadly when it's a thin clear layer, practically invisible. I felt like I was going die powering back up that. I hike a lot but that can barely be called hiking it's so steep!
Awesome job out there! Awesome that you were able to find a spot with all the recent snow. Got surprised going into icehouse this weekend with a lot of road under snow & ice. Nothing like those beautiful Tahoe rainbows. I’m still yet to catch one but excited to see them on your channel. I really like watching you fish Tahoe. Those were both beautiful fish! Congrats 👍🎣👍🎣
Thanks man and thanks for the update on the road to icehouse. That's a go to of mine sometimes when I'm visiting family in the Sac area. I like that lake because they plow the road all Winter.
I'm fine with the snow so far. Last year was out of control. It's going to start snowing in a couple of weeks. I wanted to get down to this spot before it becomes completely treacherous.
Kudos Amani, good to see the lake fishing picking up! Watching you shed layers shows your time commitment to getting some Dinner! Lastly nice to see a man honor his verbal contract…LOL
If you can get to the water in a spot where there isn't deadly ice and snow on the route down to the water and on the boulders you are fishing from, yes. There are spots you can fish without too much hazard. You just need to search them out. Emerald Bay might need some snow shoes but you can definitely fish below the boat camp area.
Right on. Yeah, been a Rush fan since I was a kid. Went to a show on every tour since Grace Under Pressure. Sad how it ended. A lot more content to come. I know there are already hundreds of videos on them but I'm just getting started on my channel playlists! At least that's what I hope!
Man, I can't remember! I have a lot of Tahoe clips now on that playlist and I fish a ton everywhere else. My dialogue just comes blurting out with zero planning so I couldn't begin to suggest where you might find that.
Bobber should work in theory. I'd go slip bobber. Especially when the water is ice cold and fish are cruising as close as I saw that one. You could throw it out far and let it drift back in.
Hey, Emerald Bay can be tough. I've been skunked there too. I have caught multiple fish there but a couple of those Macs were me just throwing jigs out of my river box because I had no where else to go after my first choice was a bust. I am still forming an opinion on the place after a few years of going there. I'll be back there soon. We are all mortal when it comes to fishing!
If you go to my fishing tips playlist my clips "rigging up for reservoir trout" + the adjustments I make for lake Tahoe + hooks and type of powerbait I use + hooks I use for nightcrawlers should tell you everything you need to know. I have a bunch of stuff on there. Hope it helps.
Amani. Filming content on the side of a road, be careful Amani. Great content as always, I wish I didn’t live 6 hours from the Eastern Sierra. Rick in SD
I think my roadside content is fine as long as you can hear it! The good news is, if you drive the 6 hours to the eastern side of the range you can plan a full fishing schedule off of my playlists. Heck, you could probably plan a full fishing schedule for a dozen trips!
It’s called wilderness with Armani. Not fishing with Armani. He does a great job entertaining us . Just take it for what it is . Chill and check out someone else’s lifestyle. Peace brother. He’s showing how to fish Lake Tahoe . That’s a tough lake to fish . I’ve learned a few things from this episode .
I think I'm at least decent at fishing. I'll tell you what, I have hundreds of videos across my channel playlists where I fish all types of trout water and I do a lot of talking in all of them so if that's something that bothers you perhaps you should just cut the cord right now and save yourself the agony. I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just being honest. Nothing is changing. I guess it just is what it is. Good luck in your search for what you are into.
Love this channel. 👍💪
Right on. I love making the content so hopefully the hundreds of videos I have across my channel playlist are only the beginning. Glad you found me.
Always great to see your videos. Keep up the hard work!
Thank you. Glad to keep making them. The weather is about to get a little shaky but there are things I can do.

More of a slide than a trail! I wouldn’t have made it down much less back up! Oh, then there’s the ice… you’re a warrior my friend!

Fish,potatoes & football. That's a triple crown combo.
Right! That was as good as it gets!

A little snow? think of how it was this time last year. Pretty trout. Beautiful day.

Hey, I keep my word on that contract so I don't anger the fishing gods!
perfect water for bobber
I agree. A slip bobber would probably be good there.
Love your videos - keep ‘em going! Will the trout continue to run in Tahoe during the winter?

Nice fish and great content. Digging the Rush shirt too. Thanks

Where do we find “jumping for joy” which episode

Wonder if a bobber would work. Seems when you cast, 50 50 it does not end in a crevice.

Jetski action??
There's none of that right now. The lake water is freezing and the air is not very comforting for water activities.
You need to hit Eagle again its been on 🔥 🔥 alot of 5lb+ fish coming out of there.
I was just thinking about that. It's crazy you commented on it. I didn't go last year because the snow on the road.
@@wildernesswithamani1027 balanced leech or small jig under a under a bobber is getting em.
I saw you today you killed it
Right on. It was a nice day to be sure.
Living through you. Got skunked at emerald Sunday haha

@@wildernesswithamani1027 gotta fish to catch fish and that’s all we can do I guess haha
Nice fishing 🎣
Right on. The feast was great. I let the bigger fish go so now I have to go back for more if I want more delicious Tahoe Rainbow to eat!.
What bait are you using ? Thank you

Amani, you're a trooper
Right on. Once the sun came out it was a fairly nice day out there. Crazy how when it slides above the 20's things get a bit more comfortable!
Awesome from shore , In the The God Father they went out in a row boat to fish Micheal’s brother never made it back to shore 😢
I forgot all about that! It's a deep lake for that type of sorted activity!
@@wildernesswithamani1027 ☺️
Nice Catch way to catch and release when you can.
Yeah, I figure I fish so much with bait in the Winter I can get enough to eat. I'll be back for that fish when it's over 10lbs!

Looks a little chili there
Looks and was! When I first got out there it was frigid but when the sun finally touched me I was alright.
That is so cool! Shalu Shalom Yahrushalayim!
Right on brother.
I don’t know how good you are at fishing but you sure do a lot of talking , some more shots of actual fishing would be great. ☮️🦬🪶🐮

Thanks for taking us along on all your adventures Amani !! Have you ever fished Pyramid Lake? Would love to see some content from up there.
