HOW TO Catch Beautiful Wild Trout in Lake Tahoe

- I got a special invite from the Trout Slayer to fish Lake Tahoe for Mackinaw & Rainbow Trout. Its was a blast being on the most beautiful lake in the world catching the fish it has to offer. I filmed the video trying to get as much knowledge I could to share with all of you incase you ever wanted to fish Tahoe. If you dont have your own boat or dont want to bring yours up there make sure to reach out to Mitch with Trout Slayer Inc and book a trip with him. He fishes Lake Tahoe and many other places around Tahoe for brown trout, kokanee, rainbow trout and mackinaw (aka lake trout).

My Father fished Tahoe for over 50 years used a lot of minnows and j plugs. Miss him he passed in 2019 RIP Dad Warren Welsh boat Big Julie. 🙏🏻 new sub just found your channel.

Those trout in lake tahoe have bright orange meat like a salmon. Clean and healthy
Back in 1978 ,my friend the Z - boy and me were trolling north shore tripping on needle point mescaline, I caught two nice lake trouts .aloha
Great video Chris!! In the Truckee local area, the much smaller and with less violent waters, is Donner Lake which is super good for big Macks and fast limits on Kokanee. L. Tahoe has a problem with a super abundance of crayfish; one of the problematic invasive species affecting Tahoe's BLUE clarity. There was/(still is?) a commercial fishery for and/or to eliminate them. Their "poop" greatly affects algae abundance and the clarity of the "Blue" Lake Tahoe. Those Macks you caught are good table faire if prepped correctly.

Awesome video!!!! I love Tahoe, I hope you get to try it again sometime for large Macs!! My first Mac I ever caught was at Donner lake with a broken back lure that mimicked a baby trout. Thank you for putting this video out, it brought back some great memories!!!!!!

Did you go out this past weekend 6/25 6/26? I was out there as well but didn’t know the tips and tricks but now I do thanks! So expensive! 100$ for the cal inspection and 70$ to launch Dang !! Great video thanks again!

Best way to take your boat on Tahoe is to go on someone else's. You were smart not to try to put your boat in. It ends up being so expensive and a pain in the butt.
They say it’s easier to find a friend with a boat than to own one. True.
Your right, just paid 100.00 for the California inspection and 70.00 for launching and pulling back out. But we did have a great time! I think they want to keep the rif raft out.
I just buy tahoe only pass 125 but worth it if you go out alot
They stocked arctic char in tahoe but they are down around 150 feet down at last notice.

@@NevadaMike Macinaw are a member of the Actic char family. The last vid I saw on them was in February and they were deep.
@@cerescop Dude, do some research. Like my original comment said, you are spreading bad information. A lake trout is in the Char family. Arctic Char are also in the Char family. A lake trout and an Arctic Char are not the same fish but close relatives in the Char family.

The fish in your thumbnail is a planted fish just so you know! No adipose fin means clipped in hatchery!
