I just have to say, the girl is teaching herself to sew, then makes a darling dress. She hand washes her cloths, yes, hand washes, with a wash board. I thought I had seen everything when she was spinning her own yarn, then weaving things for herself and others; building her own house; climbing mountains to pick flowers, baths in the river. Hi Isabel, for someone who lives in a country that still washes a lot by hand, and grew up washing clothes by hand, I love to see you doing it, a few tips, don't stand on the side of the washing board, stand behind it, put the water tub in a higher place, put some water in it, wet your clothes, then take the bar of soap, and pass it all over the clothes, on the board, make movements from top to bottom, the clothes will finish faster and will be better for your back.
When I started watching this video I was so full of negativity and with each minute of watching I could feel the negativity fade. By the time I got to the part where Logan was complimenting you on the beautiful dress you made my heart was open and I began to cry. Thank you for this I really needed it!

I live on the edge of a beautiful Canola field in the prairies of Manitoba Canada. We are part of a small village, have holding tanks for water and septic that has to be hauled from the nearest town. The fuel costs are $160 every 3 weeks for water alone. Last week we found an old well about 400ft from our home and holding tanks. We purchased 400 ft of hose and are now able to hook up to the well to fill our tank. When you can appreciate lifes necessities in such a way, it opens the mind and allows patience and understanding in other situations. You don't really get that until you have to work for the things we would otherwise take for granted. The septic we are still trying to figure out a safe and more natural way to deal with it. Septic fields are no longer to code in the municipality 🙃 we are considering instead a composting out house for the warmer months. Trees we need more trees also so the planting will begin this fall likely. My ramblings are my way of relating to your world. Offgrid or country living truly is a lot of physical work and can wear the mind if you aren't ready for it. Love the hair cuts guys! Always enjoy your videos 🥰

How exciting...your first sowing ...and it did come out just fine....pretty cool. I never had classes, just learned with mom and aunts ...good sewers and just watched their doing, read and used the sewing magazines, trying and trying and then things become a habit...so now you with the desire and not afraid, keep it up...I love the German famous Burda...I like it because it has the same pattern to be used in many different ways and I am a Hungarian daughter, tall, and the sizes are very good for my sewing and of course they have the many sizes you find in the magazine...you choose the pattern you want to use...cheaper buying the magazine because you have many patterns with the use in many patterns sizes...they have all kinds of things in it as well...some special ones for Christmas time, for children, for the house and I just love them... one of them I am very happy in having, and saved with care, is for knitting shapes and use, beautiful winter blouses...so if you are begging you will fall in love with the doing. The patterns really help you in learning how to adapte it to what and how you want to use it. You can also make it as a way to make a profession. Doing what ever you want...online...you easily become known and asked to do these many things...a very good thing to work with in the winter time🤗

✂️ Once you've taken off the length of your hair. If you slide the elastic off but hold on to the ends- aim the scissor ends up into the fanned out bunch and lightly trim. Congratulations on the first sewing project! I started sewing at the wee age of six when my Grandma sent me a tiny but actual sewing machine. My Mom let me use it with her supervision. I made dolly clothes. I'm 58 now and once worked for over 25 years in the garment industry as a Production Pattern Maker. I can make almost anything the body can wear. Sewing for me is a form of art and also cathartic for the soul. I hope that you will feel the same way too.💜

I taught my self to sew 8years ago when pregnant. It was the best thing I ever did. I made clothes for my kids and now I see whatever I desire from time to time. I’m not a pro but it’s such a good hobby to have. My 7yo now sews and it’s so fun to do it together ❤️

Just remember practice makes perfect. The more you make, the more it will get better. You might even make your own style of cloths. Love your shows, I remember asa kid. And this was the 60 s. My grandma using this machine ( a very old washer), which had a double wheel. Kind of looked like two rolling pin. One on top of the other. And the washer would wash the clothes, and you would put the clothes in between the rollers. And it rug the clothes out. And then she hung the cloths on a line to dry. To mess a kid, that was so so cool lol. A good memory.

I never had classes, just learned with mom and aunts ...good sewers and just watched their doing, read and used the sewing magazines, trying and trying and then things become a habit...so now you with the desire and not afraid, keep it up...I love the German famous Burda...I like it because it has the same pattern to be used in many different ways and I am a Hungarian daughter, tall, and the sizes are very good for my sewing and of course they have the many sizes you find in the magazine...you choose the pattern you want to use...cheaper buying the magazine because you have many patterns with the use in many patterns sizes...they have all kinds of things in it as well...some special ones for Christmas time, for children, for the house and I just love them... one of them I am very happy in having, and saved with care, is for knitting shapes and use, beautiful winter blouses...so if you are begging you will fall in love with the doing. The patterns really help you in learning how to adapte it to what and how you want to use it. You can also make it as a way to make a profession. Doing what ever you want...online...you easily become known and asked to do these many things...a very good thing to work with in the winter time🤗

My grandma taught me how to sew by hand when I was a little girl, then a few months after I graduated high school my tia bought me my first machine!! I’ve spent the last 10+ years teaching myself through UA-cam videos and trial and error! You’ll get this down in no time!

✂️ Once you've taken off the length of your hair. If you slide the elastic off but hold on to the ends- aim the scissor ends up into the fanned out bunch and lightly trim. My mom taught me to sew and embroider 🙂 It’s such an important skill to have and a fun hobby. It’s a passion now to make artistic and cosy quilts!

Congratulations on the first sewing project! I started sewing at the wee age of six when my Grandma sent me a tiny but actual sewing machine. My Mom let me use it with her supervision. I made dolly clothes. I'm 58 now and once worked for over 25 years in the garment industry as a Production Pattern Maker. I can make almost anything the body can wear.
Sewing for me is a form of art and also cathartic for the soul. I hope that you will feel the same way too.💜

I taught my self to sew 8years ago when pregnant. It was the best thing I ever did. I made clothes for my kids and now I see whatever I desire from time to time. I’m not a pro but it’s such a good hobby to have. My 7yo now sews and it’s so fun to do it together ❤️

As someone who struggles with patience myself I find I often times will pick up something to learn but never finish it out of frustration. You finished your dress and it looks great! Kudos! Just remember practice makes perfect. The more you make, the more it will get better. You might even make your own style of cloths. Love your shows, I remember asa kid. And this was the 60 s. My grandma using this machine ( a very old washer), which had a double wheel. Kind of looked like two rolling pin. One on top of the other. And the washer would wash the clothes, and you would put the clothes in between the rollers. And it rug the clothes out. And then she hung the cloths on a line to dry. To mess a kid, that was so so cool lol. A good memory.
