Impressive. Not only is your prsentation very organised and structured, your Mandarin pronounciation of the Pinyin sounds is needless to say perfect, your English pronounciation is perfect too, way much better than any of the other teachers that I found out there on the internet. Awesome!

Bonjour, Et merci, car la prononciation des lettres est vraiment compréhensible . Je n'aurais pas réussi à les dires aussi bien sans vous ! 😊 merci professeur 😉 je comprends l'anglais mais, je n'ose pas l'écrire car, je ferais sûrement des fautes 😉 💗
He is taking us through the western-Roman alphabet perspective to get us conditioned to assimilate Mandarin’s syllabic pronunciation. Since letters , consonants and vocal are the core of how we assimilate a language he has to layer the knowledge so that we can properly pronuncia-te words. The most challenging part will be to assimilate Chinese writing characters , how to construct words and how to assign sound to them. I wonder how a Chinese toddler would assimilate speaking and writing. Probably with not as many steps as we have to take.
It's hard to say what you should do because I'm not clear about your current level of Chinese. Anyway, if you follow our Chinese courses to learn, I believe your Chinese will improve a lot.
There is something that has been making me very confused with some initials. The "b, p" & "d, t', to be more specific. The word "bàba" (爸爸), for example. When I listen someone saying that word, what I hear is "pàpa" ("p" as in "pants"). The same goes for the initial"d". The word "dōu" (都) often sounds like "tōu" to me ("t" as in "temper"). I know that the "p" and "t" initials have a "punch" in their pronunciation, it's easy to distinguish, but "b" and "d" aren't really clear to me. Do they have the same pronunciation as in english or is it something else? Is is something that changes depending on the area of the country? I would really appreciate whomever can help me with this.
nmkrios hello你好 i think u just do the right way to pronounce the “b”in “爸爸” and ”p“like in ”pa怕”,maybe someone speaks quickly, sometimes its not very clear in the pronunciation. But its baba not papa. either“d ”in “都”. When u speak more or talk with more Chinese people, u will listen to the little different. I am sorry if i couldnt help u with this. I am going to teach Chinese,so i will do my best to figure out how to explain this better.
Actually you are right, Mandarin has no voiced consonants. (i. e. It has no such sounds as b and d in English.) The pinyin 'b' is pronounced like 'p' in 'spy'. The pinyin 'd' is pronounced as 't' in 'stop'. While the pinyin 't' is pronounced as 't' in 'top'. The difference between the pinyin 'd' and 't' is that 't' is an aspirated version of 'd'. To a native speaker, they are quite different from each other. You can check the IPA of Mandarin for details.
I wondered about the same thing and figured out it must be fu and the final wu, because we don't know the initial w at this stage. We will see later on probably.
It’s two words fu and wu so you have two words 服 + 务. I don’t think it as syllables, just think of them as words . In Chinese every words ends with an aeiou
as I understood the i u ü are written like yi wu and yu only when they are one syllable word I mean when they form a word without initial I hope you get what I mean .
For the fúwù pronunciation, it sounds like there is a "glottal stop" between fú and wù. Is this correct? When there are 2 vowels side by side as in this example, is there always such a glottal stop?
Hi Litao!! i have a question, Why did you say "b" in mandarin is very similar to "b" in the word "bear" when in fact "b" is like "p" in english and spanish. ive been taugh that B and P (in hanyu) are similar but the last one is expelling air. IDK if i am wrong, please help me because this got me really confused.
I studies chinese my whole life but never learned shit. I can actually learn more and refresh my memory with "kok im" in chinese characters than the english letters like the pe, pe me fe, can you teach thkse instead
my chinese boyfriend's mom hates me and always talks about me in chinese to him so I can't understand. Next time she does this i'm going to say Mimi !! xD

When writing the word "fuwu" does this syllable has two finals? One u and one wu or its two syllable fu and wu

Yes, in majority occasions, neighbouring vowels of two different syllables are not linked together.
