Great "vannerversary" vlog reviewing the van and your first years travels with it. As you say the vans are a great way to meet folks and relax rom the hum drum of life. Hope to finally catch up with you both and Roxy soon. 👍
Great video David & Rachel. Many useful modifications for owners of the CV range and other vehicles. Have to agree that the washroom is one of the weak points of the vehicle, but not a reason to not purchase one. Off to purchase a 4k dash cam now that doubles up for driving footage. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much, appreciated. There’s usually a compromise but also that gives rise to an opportunity to improve too 😀 thought it less faff with dashcam and you don’t forget to set it or have to fiddle on. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David & Rachel, So pleased that you are having a fabtime time with the van, and a great review . We are so pleased that we have ordered our cv20 and looking forward to the same adventures that you love to do. Best Wishes, Pete & Wendy ❤️❤️
Hi Pete & Wendy, thank you - they are great vans and I’m sure you will have amazing adventures - we love ours and it’s really changed our life getting to see places we wouldn’t have otherwise - hope your CV20 comes soon - all the very best, David & Rachel ❤️
Hi David and Rachael, great review of your van ,one year on. Our CV20, our third motorhome/camper van is by far the best we have had. We did have to check exactly what we really needed to carry, so a lot now sits in the garage . We bought a utility tent for longer trips away to put chairs in etc, also packing cubes are great for clothes storage and dirty washing ,happy 23 camping
Thank you very much for the comment, appreciated. You do need to be fairly disciplined in what you take don’t you - great idea ref utility tent. Hope you have a great 2023 camping too. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Happy vannerversary David Rachel and Roxy it’s lovely to see how much you have enjoyed the time you have spent away in the campervan and you have made it even more cosy inside as you say a great base to make your own ive enjoyed following the adventure since the beginning and look forward to where you head this year all best wishes to you all Daniel
Hi Daniel, thank you so much - really appreciated. Hopefully have some nice places planned for this year and thank you so much for following us on the journey since the beginning. Hope you have a great week, all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you - appreciated. It’s not bad at all on space, a bit of a tardis outside you wouldn’t expect there to be some much room, we particularly liked the Elddis over the Swift equivalent as it felt much more open and airy when we originally looked around. Thanks again, All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Good Vlog guys, It's interesting to look back and see all the changes, I'm still not convinced about the electric shelf. Can't believe you have done less than 5k. Rachel's face😃 re the little bit bigger comment was priceless. I remember your Vlog David before you got the van re all the kit you had bought, it would be interesting to see if you used it all and are still using it. Cheers K.
Thank you - appreciated- we only use the van for camping so aren’t running back and forth to work or anything else with it and try and tie in any long distance trips to save wasting fuel going like a yo-yo where possible. It would be interesting to look back wouldn’t it - let me see if I can dig out the old video and see from the stuff, what’s been used and is handy, what has been used but not very often, what’s in the van and hasn’t been used and what never made it - challenge accepted (I think 🤔) All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Im seriously considering the CV20 as it seems a good layout for me but have a few questions as I havent seen one in person. Im 6 foot 2 inches tall & would need the seat as far back as it can go is this possible with the cupboard behind the seat? I would leave one of the benches made up as a bed and use the other for lounging (Im single) how long are the benches and how wide can 1 bed be made up and still allow a walkway inbetween the benches?
I had originally dismissed the Cv20 but it’s ended up being ideal for us. Regarding the drivers seat, I’m 6ft5 ish and manage ok, all be it the heads up display has been brilliant to see what speed you’re doing. I find it fine and if goes back most of the way but depends on how far you recline the seat. I would definitely recommend trying it and maybe even a test drive to make sure. The bed setup when on your own is great, when Rachel isn’t with me it’s really simple to make up and you can still get by with one side pulled out, plus you can stack the cushions at the other side, no worries at all. Hope that helps, All the best. David 👍
Hi Guys! Firstly, great video for giving insight into the van. We are looking for our first van at the moment so looking at all sorts of layouts etc… Would you be able to tell us how you go about making sure your dog is safe and secure without a third belted seat please? This is our main stumbling block as most layouts that suit us for when parked up aren’t suitable for making sure our dog is safe while travelling, including this one - it looks impossible to travel safely with the dog, but would be ideal when parked up. Cheers!
Thank you - it's a real tough one on layouts as some you think will work but in practice aren't practical for a particular purpose. Ref the dog, two points I use for securing, originally to the frame under the front seat, but now to the back as she goes on her bed at the back of the van and happier there. Depending on the size of the dog and how you want to do it, it does need careful throught though. sorting the table solution freed up the space at the rear without the risk of things flying forward to where the dog would be so happy with the solution now. Hope that helps/makes sense, All the best, David 👍
Hi David and Rachael. Really enjoyed your video. My only question is how do you store items such as a table and chairs to use outside, ramps, barbecue, cables and pipe etc. We bought our camper van in 2021 and finished up having to buy a European van simply because of the storeage it provided under the fixed rear bed.
Hi David, thank you for your comment and question, appreciated. There’s a reasonable amount of space under the passenger side (sliding door side) under the bench which you can fit a couple of folding chairs, a small table (folding) and I put the Cadac bbq in the space with the little vacuum cleaner. You do need to be careful as you soon run out of room - at the moment the chairs and bbq are in the garage but will go back in the van in March. You definitely get more storage in coachbuilt or larger vans - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you - the washroom has a real opportunity doesn’t it - I think it’s very similar between the 20 and 60 isn’t it - going to be one of those to take my time with and try and do a good job and suss it out - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi Peter, thank for the comment, the seat covers are from Shein - the code is sh2210213374327622 and it’s single one seater and single 2 seater for each side. Hope that helps, All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Blimey. 1year already. Where does time go ! The layout suits you guys doesn’t it. That’s the main thing. You have done some amazing mods. 👍. Nice review guys. Thanks very much. Have a great weekend. 🙏🧙♂️🚐
Thank you - yes can’t believe it on one hand it’s flown on another hand it seems an age ago since I was waiting for the van. The layout is perfect for us - all be it still some opportunities to improve it, happy with the van though and really enjoying it. Have a lovely weekend, all the best, David & Rachel (Roxy sends her love to Maya and Luna 🐾 🐾)
Hi David, just going thru you " year on " vid.On the tyre pressure sensor nut, just a dollop of grease or copperplate. The fault appears to be the " plating" on the insides of the lockouts " growing"/ oxidising. You are aware of our issues with our mk8, BUT like you and Rachel we believe for 2 people is the CV20 is best compromise for the least £. Reflecting back and forward IF we had realised what was happening over the last 2 year's we could have realised a similar Adria, BUT going forward it is a HUGE difference now to go to the " bit higher" quality. But unless an owner has had to pay near to £60,000 we in reality have a fair bargain. All better when we have subtle and not so subtle(your on board substation) mods as suggested by yourself these add to the usefulness AND you get to know the van VERY intimately. My current " upgrade"( in my head is to remove one complete bedframe( nearside) and make a lightweight fold up replacement- this is to place my full size e-bike, by co-incidence the bike is 190cm long, the space rear door to flip up shelf is 195cm. This is for my solo trips with bike Brilliant honest and very useful review Thank you David and Rachael
Thanks Roger. On the tyrepal - you’re right on the oxidation as I could see it when removed and great suggestion. Very interesting on the foldable bed frame - great idea to give a temporary garage when travelling- I saw some Murphy beds and they looked clever. Good luck with that mod, look forward to seeing it. Thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks David & Rachel for a very helpful video. On the strength of it, we have traded our current campervan for a used Elddis Signature CV20, which we will pick up in a week’s time. We were impressed by the free standing small table you made for the lounge area. We found the components on the ‘Chippy’s Workshop’ website you mentioned but there is a choice of leg lengths. What is the height of the table top above the floor and what is its diameter (400?). Also what is the height of the table at the front above the floor? Does a single setting of this table suit both the passenger and driver’s seats for laptop use or do you have to move it. (I ask because I am thinking of fixing the detachable table leg direct to the floor rather than using your impressive fold away system and wondered whether it would be better to have separate base fixings for each seat to optimise the table position for each chair.)
Hi thank you for your comments and how exciting about your van! Rachel here - David is away on a work event for 2 days but I will flag for him to answer your questions x Rachel 💕
Hi, I'm looking for something a little different as mine will be full time to retire in. Having said that, your views on what worked for you and what needed tweaking / improving I found really useful as a lot would still apply to me. Thank You 🙂
Great review of your van. Would love you to review other vans, we have a Adria twin sgx, completely different layout to your van. What are you thoughts??
Thank you for the comment most appreciated - a great suggestion, it’s great to look at different layouts as originally I’d dismissed the layout we have - thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi Dave and Rachel, thanks for your vlog. Please could you tell me where did you get your small round table and where did you get your stretchy lounge seat covers.
Thank you the small one came with the van as a chopping board/sink cover which I attached to the table stand which I got from Chippys Workshop. The grey stretchy covers were from online (Temu I think) - the furry ones which we prefer as they work better with the dog were from Amazon... Hope that helps - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
We are also thinking of converting our washroom into a proper wetroom. It’s already very compact so could do without the shower curtain sticking to me 😣
Hi Mike, thank you - I’ve still got it in progress as I have been making some of the bits to be controlled by it (in addition to the standard stuff) - watch this space over the next few months and you should see it make an appearance as I start to install the new things 😀 I would have loved to have got more done on it last year but spent so much time away. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks for the comment, appreciated. The weather station one I did as a short - it’s called “Fitting a Clock and Weather Station in the Campervan or Motorhome” if that helps, most of the videos are in long form but that particular one wasn’t. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David & Rachel great video, just like to know how tall is David and how does he get on with the beds, and where do you store all your clothes when you go away? Thanks 😃
Hi guys David is 6 foot 5 so the CV20 is perfect for him as he can sleep length ways. We have yet to find a bed he can sleep transversally in! I’m pondering on chopping his legs off at the knees to be honest 😂😂 If we are going away sub 5 days we have a lightweight bag each which we put the clothes in, in the lockers. If we are on the road a while we generally each have a locker each and roll our clothes up and stack them up so we can locate what we want quicker & they don’t get as creased. Great questions! Thank you x Rachel & David 💕💕
Thanks very much for the comment, most appreciated. On the seat base, there’s a place where you can loop a a short lead through and clip to a harness (if that makes sense)? Thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David. Thanks for your super videos, I’ve learned a lot. When you first picked the van up where were the usb sockets and when using modesty blocks what size screws did you us to secure them to the van panels.
Thank you - when I first got the van there was the USBs in the cab area but none in the rear however Cleveland had offered to fit some for free but at that time they didn’t come with the van (based on 2020 order) I believe they might on some models and new ones. I decided I would fit my own ones as wanted the light dimming feature too as the original lights were just on and off and they came with handy USB. They worked well but then I needed more power so hence upgrading to the additional ones. On the modesty blocks, which were you meaning (sorry I can’t quite remember but will check) Thanks again, all the best, David 👍
Great video thanks for sharing. Please may I ask - when using the back sofas as single beds so you take the back cushions off or is it a wide enough bed without?
Thank you - When using as single beds we take the back cushions off and pop them in the front then we find it big enough - hope that helps - David & Rachel 👍
Thanks for the comment - let’s just say we paid a little over £50k for the van and all the mods (including the lithium setup etc) to date that should give you some idea 😀 Thanks for watching, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Great video! We’re trying to get our hands on the same van. Can I ask where you got the seat covers from? We’d be looking to get something similar if we get a van
They are a lovely van. I must check but was it the front seat covers (if so they were from Amazon) or the ones at the back or the throws? (Let me know and will reply with more specific product if that helps) All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit thanks so much for your reply. Yes it was the ones in the back - I didn’t realise they were throws as they looked like such a perfect fit! We are going to view a 2 year old one on Friday. Have had so many disappointments trying to get hold of one so we’re hoping the 8 hour round trip will be worth it!
Hi there, We finally got our van and were happy to see it was in mint condition! The long seats in the back are immaculate and given the light upholstery colour we want to keep them that way. I love the stretch covers you have in yours. Can I ask where you got them? We’ve been looking for something similar but not been able to find them. Love watching all your videos - as first time van owners we are learning a lot of tips! 😃
I looked at a CV40 on 15th Sept 24 - One year on are you still happy with the Elddis & is the build quality good as Ive read some not great comments. Thanks Nic
Personally, I have been quite happy, yes I had a couple of bits to sort (mainly sliding door panel adhesive not being good enough and needing screwing) and had a small leak in the rear skylight which I replaced with a Maxxfan but other than that, beyond the glow plugs issue which was a Fiat issue, I’ve been quite happy. I think all vans have their niggles and I look at how many times you need to go back to the dealers, and for me, thankfully I’ve not spent much time in the dealers (the last motorhome we had literally spent months getting issues resolved) - folks how have spent a lot more money on other campervans and motorhomes seem to spend much more time in. That said, I get you can get variance. I personally have no regrets on buying that CV20 - it’s very difficult to find something worth replacing it with - yes I’ve done mods to make it as I want it but I’m actually very happy with the conversion and it just works and it quite practical for our needs. However, it depends what you want it for of course but I’ve been happy so far, almost 3 years of ownership now, hope that helps? all the best, David 👍
Hi Rachel and Dave, I'm following you from Denmark and I absolutely love all your videos - well done and very interesting 🤩 May I ask about the size of your Avtex tv. Is it the W215TS model? I gonna buy one next time I'm in the UK to see my love, but unsure about 19 or 21.5" 🤔 Thank you so much.
Thanks very much for the comment, really appreciated and thank you so much for watching. It’s the 21.5” size TV (pleased with the size of it) - hope that helps, all the very best, have a great week. David & Rachel 👍
Hi Guys, I see you were contemplating the CV60 & eventually decided on the CV20 which is where I am atm, do you know if the benches/bed are the same length front to back on both models. I really like the front on the CV60 but feel the benches/bed is better on the CV20 Thanks Jeff
Hi Jeff, Great question, as you know, the bed is quite different in the CV60 compared to the bench seats in the CV20, without specifically measuring, I found the bed size laying out about the same - however, if you're thinking of the CV60, worth going and having a sit in it, if you are using it mostly on your own vs if using with someone else, what swung it for us was going to have a sit in one - it's all personal preference, but we like laying out 'lounging' so the CV20 worked out more perfect for us than the CV60 but if you prefer sitting you can use the cab seats in the front. Worth having a sit in and take your time. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Lovely vans the CV range, just a shame we were let down with ours, still onwards and upwards as they say 🙂 Great review David and Rach, and some really good mods there, which i think some of them should of been as standard, but TBH were would the fun be if we could not mod our vans 🙂 Hows the Camper Control coming along btw, seem to remember you seemed to be getting brilliantly with that ? Take care both of you ( and Roxy)
Good afternoon - hopefully not long until you get your van now - you’re right it’s great if you can minimise the mods - all be it I had decided to get the CV and to mod so all good (most of them rather than any “fixes”. Ref the camper control - not as quickly as I would have liked as making sure I have some stuff which would add value - I’m starting to get onto those things over the next couple of months which then add additional capability not available as standard or messy to do other ways and to replace any temporary solutions - hope to see that making a show soon - just waiting for the weather to pick up as some underneath jobs to do and I’m becoming a wimp or favouring going away rather than working on the van on a weekend lol. Thanks for the comment, appreciated All the best, David & Rachel 👍
She’s too big for the seats even if there were additional seats really. So to an anchor point on the seat frame in the rear, originally to the base of the front seat but she prefers it at the back on her bed. Hope that makes sense.? All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit thank you so much for replying. That’s very helpful to know. We hired a motorhome this summer and loved it but I think a campervan would be more easy to manoeuvre and accessible to more areas. I really enjoy watching your videos. 😊
I have to ask. If you have only one top cupboard each for clothes etc and you have filled your wardrobe with food, do you wear the same clothes all holiday? I only ask, because my wife could fill all top cupboards and the wardrobe with her clothes and shoes.
Haha, if we’re away for a while things need folding carefully and it spills across into other cupboards - for under a week can fit in ok in the locker as more space than you think if you roll / fold right. But we do overspill at times. We also do washing on some sites on longer trips to save needing to carry a whole load of stuff. Sounds like an RV may be needed lol :) All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit We are selling our 7mtr, 6 month old motorhome, so my wife is just going to have to learn that she does not need to take the full household wardrobe with her.
We came up with a short list from a few sources and ideas and LeisureBit wasn’t taken on social platforms in active use and the domain was available- it was our preference from a short list we created. At the time I wasn’t sure where the channel or LeisureBit would go (still don’t lol) hence the wide scope. Hope that makes sense, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi guys very interesting 👍 oddly enough we have been thinking about changing to a similar van currently have a caravan which is great but think we would get out and use a van of that size more, had a large moho but we're a little limited with it , oh and the digital speed display at the front is good 👍 regards Glyn
Hi Glyn, we had a 7.5m Bessacarr Motorhome previously and we have really noticed the difference, especially with the width but the length of the van also makes a difference when parking and tucking into passing places etc. The speed display at the front is really helpful, especially if you’re tall (and only about £30/easy to fit too!) We’ve been really pleased ‘downsizing’ to 6m van rather than coachbuilt and honestly haven’t regretted it at all. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

This is for my solo trips with bike
Brilliant honest and very useful review
Thank you David and Rachael
Excellent - sounds like you’ve got a great van - exciting - let me check when I get home on Friday and will confirm the sizing for you 👍
Hi thank you for your comments and how exciting about your van! Rachel here - David is away on a work event for 2 days but I will flag for him to answer your questions x
Rachel 💕
Great review 👍
Thank you - really appreciated - have a great week - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi, I'm looking for something a little different as mine will be full time to retire in. Having said that, your views on what worked for you and what needed tweaking / improving I found really useful as a lot would still apply to me. Thank You 🙂
Thank you very much for watching, pleased it was useful even if not the same type of van.
All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
It’s already very compact so could do without the shower curtain sticking to me 😣
Thank you. Think it will make a difference doing that - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi, great update 😀
Whatever happened to the command system you were making?
Hi Mike, thank you - I’ve still got it in progress as I have been making some of the bits to be controlled by it (in addition to the standard stuff) - watch this space over the next few months and you should see it make an appearance as I start to install the new things 😀 I would have loved to have got more done on it last year but spent so much time away.
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Great video I have just been looking for you weather station video but can't find it could you let me know which video it is please
Thanks for the comment, appreciated. The weather station one I did as a short - it’s called “Fitting a Clock and Weather Station in the Campervan or Motorhome” if that helps, most of the videos are in long form but that particular one wasn’t. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Brilliant thanks for your reply I will take a look 👍
Hi David & Rachel great video, just like to know how tall is David and how does he get on with the beds, and where do you store all your clothes when you go away? Thanks 😃
Hi guys David is 6 foot 5 so the CV20 is perfect for him as he can sleep length ways. We have yet to find a bed he can sleep transversally in! I’m pondering on chopping his legs off at the knees to be honest 😂😂
If we are going away sub 5 days we have a lightweight bag each which we put the clothes in, in the lockers. If we are on the road a while we generally each have a locker each and roll our clothes up and stack them up so we can locate what we want quicker & they don’t get as creased.
Great questions! Thank you x
Rachel & David 💕💕
Super video David, thank you. May I just ask how you secure Roxy in the van when travelling?
Thanks very much for the comment, most appreciated. On the seat base, there’s a place where you can loop a a short lead through and clip to a harness (if that makes sense)?
Thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
I’m still loving the coffee machine, 👍😀
Thank you - my worry is it wears out too quick 😂 very handy and saves lifting it out all the time. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
On the modesty blocks, which were you meaning (sorry I can’t quite remember but will check)
Thanks again, all the best, David 👍
Great video thanks for sharing. Please may I ask - when using the back sofas as single beds so you take the back cushions off or is it a wide enough bed without?
Thank you - When using as single beds we take the back cushions off and pop them in the front then we find it big enough - hope that helps - David & Rachel 👍
Great review thank you. Love the coffee machine mod! If you dont mind me asking, what did you pay for it? For comparison now.
Thanks for the comment - let’s just say we paid a little over £50k for the van and all the mods (including the lithium setup etc) to date that should give you some idea 😀
Thanks for watching, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Great video! We’re trying to get our hands on the same van.
Can I ask where you got the seat covers from? We’d be looking to get something similar if we get a van
They are a lovely van. I must check but was it the front seat covers (if so they were from Amazon) or the ones at the back or the throws? (Let me know and will reply with more specific product if that helps)
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit thanks so much for your reply. Yes it was the ones in the back - I didn’t realise they were throws as they looked like such a perfect fit!
We are going to view a 2 year old one on Friday. Have had so many disappointments trying to get hold of one so we’re hoping the 8 hour round trip will be worth it!
Hi there,
We finally got our van and were happy to see it was in mint condition!
Hi David, Hi Rachel
Hello. Thank you for the comment, most appreciated- all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
1:30 lol , Rachel’s face
Haha 😂 quiet telling isn’t it 😳
All the best David & Rachel 👍
I’m sorry I try not to laugh but David is obsessed by size! 😂😂
Hi there. is there a pantry for food
Hi there was a pantry type space under the fridge but we put extra shelves in and put a coffee maker, tins etc in
Hope this helps
Rachel & David 💗
Hi Rachel and Dave,
I'm following you from Denmark and I absolutely love all your videos - well done and very interesting 🤩
May I ask about the size of your Avtex tv. Is it the W215TS model?
I gonna buy one next time I'm in the UK to see my love, but unsure about 19 or 21.5" 🤔
Thank you so much.
Thanks very much for the comment, really appreciated and thank you so much for watching. It’s the 21.5” size TV (pleased with the size of it) - hope that helps, all the very best, have a great week. David & Rachel 👍
Very helpful......thanks 👍
Thank you - are you getting a CV or considering it? We are almost up to 2 years now & are still happy with our choice
Rachel & David
Thanks for the comment, appreciated
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
How do you secure your dog with only two seat belted seats?
How much did u pay?
Just over 50k for the van and the stuff I’ve fitted up to this point
Hope that helps, all the best, David 👍
@@LeisureBit good price. Enjoy guys and all the best 👍
Guys…how did you come up with the channel name? Thanks
108 like❤❤❤ hello my dear friend❤❤❤ nice sharing❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers! All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Love all these sites but I really find the constant switching of camera really off putting, otherwise great info
Thanks for the feedback, appreciated as it helps me know what works / what doesn’t - sorry about that. All the best, David 👍
