Amazes how it all mounts up, we just don't bother keeping a record 🙂 Lovely to see your favourite places, Debz still likes that one in Toft Hill, " David can i have a Alpaca" "David can i have a Meerkat" NO NO NO LOL, brilliant video and a great recap, will see at Harrogare, if not before, all the best, Trev Debz and Tyler
Hi David and Rachel happy 3 year vannerversary!! It’s been amazing following your journey from the start of leisurebit and awaiting the van and all the prep to taking us along on all the lovely tours you have had and the memories you have made with it Looking forward to what 2025 has in store and enjoy being part of the leisurebit family best wishes to you all Daniel
Ahhhh thank you Daniel! What a 3 years! What a journey and how David’s table of rubbish is still lingering in the depths of the garage 😂😂 Thank you for coming on the journey with us - we really appreciate it 💗💗 Rachel & David 💗
Completely agree about LiFePO4 batteries. I built my own 230ah battery and system and it’s been great. I’ll have to have another look at the blind spot detector system too
It’s a game changer isn’t it in terms of flexibility and practicality. I have found the blind spot detection really handy - appreciate new vans tend to come with it but for under £200, certainly the best safety addition. All the very best, David 👍
Thank you for watching & commenting x Time is very precious and we want to make amazing memories and enjoy our time off! It’s a great experience to look back - there were sites I had forgotten about! Loved making this video Rachel & David 💗
Superb video David and Rachel, really interesting , especially the costing, I scrolled through your video list after and noticed you very rarely venture very far South or abroad, ,obviously because you have such stunning scenery up Norf. All the best for your 25 travels
Morning thank you for watching & commenting 💗 I think where we go is more situational due to holidays from work etc. We are going to France next year as we got married there and it’s our 20th wedding anniversary. We do love the north east, dales, Lake District & Scotland mind 💗💗💗 Rachel & David
Thank you for watching & commenting 💗💗 We get really 😡 when we see drama for drama sake - there is no need. If you are authentic, genuine and stay true to your principles then that should be enough! We need to get them booked up 🙌 Rachel & David 💗
Hope your both well. Because I'm an old curmudgeon, I refuse to pay the exorbitant site fees in the UK, instead using CCC D.A's and free park ups. Our recent 6 week trip to Spain cost 75 Euro in fees and we stayed in some amazing places for free. Glad the van has behaved well, doesn't seem 5 minutes since David had the table of doom😂😂 in the garden. Cheers K.
😂😂😂 the table of doom 😂😂😂 I think 90% of the car boot items are still festering in the garage 😂😂 We do DA’s etc when we see something we like but happy to pay for sites that we want to visit. Glad you had a good trip to Spain and love the word curmudgeon 😂😂 Rachel & David 💗
Superb video both! We have just completed our first year of motor homing and now we have the new van, we are making our plans for the year. 2 main trips, one to Dumfries and Galloway in May and one to the highlands in September. Of those 2, we are only stopping at one place we have stopped before! We are really looking forward to it :). As newbies, finding new sites is easy of course and helps us to build up our library of memories. It also helps that we are both retired ;). looking forward to your next video. Back to the planning then :) Ian
Thank you Ian 💗💗 Dumfries & Galloway is a beautiful part of the world and very under played but some epic spots. Kippford is a must to visit - so quaint with amazing shell decorations in front of houses 💗💗 Equally the Highlands are stunning too! We look forward to watching your adventures as your journey continues! It does get harder as you go on to find new hidden gems to explore but there are loads of sites if you dig deep! Rachel & David 💗
Hi, we came back to caravaning 2yrs ago after 13 years . In the 2yrs there is only one we won't go back to as the facilities were dirty. The very best we have been to twice is Greenacres Carlisle, We like the CAMC sites . On average we have paid £34 per night. We are now booked up from March to October. Happy times 🌞🍷🍺
Thank you for watching & commenting! There is one I wouldn’t go back to (Rachel) it was just blah and not cheap blah so for that reason I wouldn’t. David didn’t mind it. Greenacres is a beautiful site with exceptional facilities. Roxy liked the woodland walk there. These vehicles aren’t cheap, our time off is precious so like you don’t mind paying for the comfort of the facilities 💗 Rachel & David 💗
Thank you Malcolm your support and feedback means the world to us x Chain bridge epic and the facilities top notch. Hawes don’t eat for going to the cheese factory - eat your way round the samples! 😂😂. Truly lovely site! Rachel & David 💗💗
Brilliant vlog and so very useful - thank you for the hard work that goes into producing them. It will be one I watch again and again to help with future trips! As for being lucky - I think you make your own luck and your planning has certainly helped! Safe travels and keep up the brilliant work! 😊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 💗💗 Time is too precious and we need to ensure we have happy memories so planning is key. There are certain criteria when we decide where to go. Roxy is centre to that! 🥰 We do hope it helps you with planning & you enjoy your adventures as much as we have xx Rachel & David 💗💗
Really enjoyed that review. We’ve just got back from the Edinburgh CAMC site and would be my choice for best nearest a city. We also had the best day out on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Might be worth a stop off when you go to Scotland. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill we have booked the Edinburgh site as part of our Easter trip as it happens. So if you give it the thumbs up that’s good to us! We fancied the Britannia and also the Globe! Thank you as ever Rachel & David 💗💗
@ I’ve not heard of the Globe so that would be interesting to see. You can’t take dogs on to the Britannia but I found a doggy day care centre near to it. I know they only take small dogs but she did mention a place nearby that takes larger dogs. Hope this helps.
Great video, we are new to campervan travels and we got our van in October and been out 4 times now , always looking for ideas so your video has been useful , we have planned a trip to Scotland in may , starting from the bottom of loch Lomand and up to Ben Nevis , can’t wait as this is our first trip to Scotland, we are always in the dales and that’s as far north as we’ve been . So now we are going to look into your favourite sites . Phil
Thank you for watching & commenting Phil. There are some epic places in the Dales, I think we have a playlist of them! It’s one of our go to places - not too far but you can be in another world. The scenery is 🙌 Loch Lomand was beautiful and peaceful! We might meet you on our Scotland trip! Rachel & David 💗💗
A great review of the 3 years of CV ownership, certainly brings back a few memories - especially the early vlogs - remember the table of stuff before the van arrived and so true of what you actually need as opposed to what you think you need. Some great sites over the years and Hawes is one of my favourites. Seeing what the future has in stall for you guys will be interesting to say the least - I know our journey to the new van was a great experience. Look forward to the next one and also catching up again at some point 👍. All the best
Thanks Tim, its really interesting to look back and it brought back so many memories, you forget some of the great places and things , coming up with a top list is so tough as soon as you have picked one you think of another. Was really impressed with Hawes, should have gone there sooner, be nice to check it out in the warmer weather next time, not that we had bad weather for December though. All the very best, and thanks again for coming on the journey with us, David & Rachel ❤️
Great video on looking back it’s amazing how everything adds up. I was watching Rachel when you were adding all the items and can see her eyes rolling saying “how much” 😂 I’m sure she wasn’t really but it does make you think.
😂😂 oh you were right my eyes were rolling and still are 😂😂 half that stuff never even made it from the garage into the van. In fact it’s still lurking in there somewhere! 😂😂 Rachel & not David as he is on the t’internet shopping 😂😂😂
Starting at Easter in Edinburgh and then heading a little way up the east coast then on to Cairngorms, over to the west following that and Loch Ness area then down to Bute and Dumfries and Galloway and finishing in Cumbria just before the first May bank holiday 😀 hope to catch you in the road somewhere soon - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hiya David and Rachael. Where have them 3 yrs gone. Yes we've watched you're vlogs from the amble and warkworth one. Tonight's was a very interesting vlog especially explaining all the cost of thing's especially the adblu rip off. Looking forward to the 2025 journeys. From you're cumbrian Marra's have safe journeys. Malcolm and Sheila from Workington.
Hi Malcolm & Sheila can you believe it 3 years?!!! And what a small world that you know my dad! He is doing great - treatment finished so scan next! Then he needs to get back out with his tomatoes 🍅! Not a cheap hobby but an enjoyable one! Rachel & David
Interesting vlog regarding your last 3 yrs of travelling. Regarding sites we tend to avoid them as they are generally overpriced especially down here in the south east. We stay in places around 1 hrs distance away and mostly farmers fields off grid around £10 _15 per night. We travel to Europe in the van which is so much cheaper than UK. As you our cv40 has had no problems at all looking forward to year ahead.
Thank you for watching and commenting fellow CV’er! We like to do a mix and happy to do rallies or CLs but equally we like pushing the boat too since we work hard all week at work 😂😂 So glad you have been trouble free too! We are off to France next year which we are looking forward too Rachel & David 💗
Hello. Yes where has three years gone too. Glad you have enjoyed your travels. We have got a few places earmarked for this year in our Sainsbury van conversion around East Anglia. Pity they don't do a few more mpg, 30 is ok but can be costly if you go a long way. Would you consider van electric one. Do u have an electric car. Personally we have a VW tcross and the sprinter. And my caddyvan for work. Am used to 50 to 60 mpg in them. What car do u drive. Hope you are keeping well. Best wishes to you both, and Roxy. David and Beverley Norfolk
Thanks or the comment David & Beverley and good to hear from you. It’s a really great question too! Yes, I have an electric car since last year - A Mercedes EQA, prior to that I have had a couple of hybrids, and you could see the technology moving along with each one. I have looked at electric vans, and will cover in more detail in the next few videos. 50-60mpg would be lovely! All the very best, David, Rachel & Roxy 👍
. @@LeisureBitI've never seen one of those on the road but they do look nice slightly larger than our tcross, yes looks interesting and worth considering. Thank you. Nice chatting to you. Have a good week. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk
Fabulous video;thank you. We bought a cv20 last year after watching your channel and we love it. Could you please tell me what table you are using (the one behind you) as we find the supplied table a little wide at the bottom of the legs. Looke forward to ‘travelling ‘ with you in 2025. ❤
Thank you for watching, commenting and enjoying your CV! Ohhhhh the table is epic! Roxy can tuck underneath and it doesn’t take up floor space. A link below to the video. 100% recommend ua-cam.com/video/c5CgVdUS-7Y/v-deo.htmlsi=QwOowxIbfvcnTlcw
It’s just a Dolce Gusto DeLongi Genio S - not a fortune and makes a nice coffee and handy for on demand hot water for other drinks too. Certainly to my taste. All the best, David 👍
Great video to help with the planning for the years trips. We plan on doing our first pub stop in 2025 in north west england. Do you have any tips on how to find a safe stop?
Thank you for watching and commenting! Ohhhh we love a good pub stop over. Don’t get me wrong we were worried on our first one but with research they can be a great choice. Research is the key plus what’s important to you. We like a big car park (we are rubbish at noise & late nights) Do you want access to a toilet? Read others recommends and feedback and look at the reviews on line. We also check out Google maps to see the surrounding neighbourhood Being dog friendly is also important to us.
