I have been researching tiny homes for at least 7 years, and by far, this is the most clever design I've seen, Erin. you have thought of EVERYTHING - storage storage storage which so many tiny homes lack. And the dressing room area! Huge closet with washer/dryer, nearby drawers AND Vanity. And such helpful advice about the air vent in the bathroom. You have absolutely thought of everything! Hi Erin - I’ve watched literally hundreds of Tiny House videos, and your house is the only one I’ve seen where the stairs are placed in a corner leading up to a wardrobe / laundry and vanity area. What I really like about this is that not only does it provide decent clothes storage, as well as a full-height dressing area (private too!!!), but it also enables you to create a bed that you access easily from a standing position. To me this is absolutely BRILLIANT! I wonder why nobody else has done this? It seems to be such a perfect combination of space-saving stairs, ample storage and easy bed access. No ladders for me - I’m going to do the stairs your way! Best wishes from sunny Australia.

Erin, you’ve returned! Good things are worth the wait! I know you are thrilled to actually be living your dream! Such a beautiful location you enjoy! For such a small footprint, it appears you planned well for your basic storage needs... and more. It was a bit concerning... to learn of your earthquake mimicking spin cycle on your clothes washer! Yikes! Do you think if was in a different location (I can’t imagine where!) for it’s placement, the problem would have been replicated? Do you think it is because it is located in a cantilevered area? i’m happy, that otherwise, it functions well. I believe your attention to detail regarding the exact configuration of your stairs, as well as that for the skylight box over your bed was crucial for your long term living enjoyment... especially as you age. The access for you, is perfect! In the video, I was a bit concerned you might topple over backward from, what appears to be, an open drop off to the bottom of the the stairs while you were talking about your ease of access to the bed! I couldn’t see or remember if there was any kind of safety railing, or...? Hopefully, it is not an issue. And I still, absolutely, love the way the closet/dressing/makeup area is configured...ingenious! Now that you are living in your home, do you truly feel you have enough storage for your “stuff”? Clothing, accessories, out of season clothing, coats, extras like lightbulbs and more, backup for necessities, personal and household accessories, office supplies, etc? -You know, all the items you need just to live, even when paired down, that might be challenging to find a home, when living tiny. All in all, I continue to think yours is the overall best design I have ever seen, and I wish you every joy as you continue your tiny house journey. I hope you will share more with us of what you find works great... and what could have been better thought out... if anything. This floorplan is one of the best I've seen. One of the things I dislike about other tinys is the placement of the bathroom off the kitchen. You've placed it in a hallway which is just perfect. I love the dressing area too and full size W/D. Please please sell your plan! I'm buying!

I think everyone who is single or just a couple should go the tiny house route. It's so easy to maintain and the freedom is amazing. We're a family of 5 and I think I'd lose my mind in a small space with 3 kids but I hope to retire in one!
I just love your house!!! you have made a tiny house a REAL viable option, as a women of some years, I have been wise enough when viewing tiny house videos about the very things you have covered!!!! i.e. where to put your purse, broom, all the appilances one needs to make a place a home, and two reasons I would veto a loft, the ladder, 59 is NOT a time of life to go up and down a latter at night!, and crawling on your knees trying to make or get into a bed. you have room above your bed so you are not getting that coffin/MRI feeling. and most of all a REAL washer and dryer!!! I love your house and place, my only fear would be just how close you are to the river, living in the south we all know just how are rivers swell in the spring when the northern snows melt. This year my state, Arkansas had major flooding due to the winter snows on the Mississippi and Arkansas rivers, are you afraid of flooding??
Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind feedback, Mary! The ladder and closed-in sleeping quarters were definitely a deal breaker for me too. As for the river, the good news is that my riverbank down to the river is quite steep, so I am located above the 100 year flood plan. The river is also dam controlled, so there has not been a flood in my area since the dam was built. And I guess if all else fails, I can always hook up my home and tow it to higher and dryer ground!
Absolutely love what you've come up with for your tiny. The land it's on is perfect and my actual goal for my future tiny/property. I'd love to know more about the process you took in finding the land and getting the approval to park on it.

I am so happy to see that you finally made another video of your home. I love it! I want to build my own tiny home in the not too distant future. I agree with some of the other comments regarding your presentation. You did a beautiful job there, too. I think I would love to build a home just like yours.

What a beautiful home. If I didn’t see the truck side of your home, I almost would have thought it was just a small place. I say almost because a lot of the features in your home are tiny home features. But you have a head like me. Thinking things through. Being practical. I too, would have thought about a lot of the same needs, wants. Beautiful job. Can I ask where you’re located? Can’t wait for the next video!

I think everyone who is single or just a couple should go the tiny house route. It's so easy to maintain and the freedom is amazing. We're a family of 5 and I think I'd lose my mind in a small space with 3 kids but I hope to retire in one!

I just love your house!!! you have made a tiny house a REAL viable option, as a women of some years, I have been wise enough when viewing tiny house videos about the very things you have covered!!!! i.e. where to put your purse, broom, all the appilances one needs to make a place a home, and two reasons I would veto a loft, the ladder, 59 is NOT a time of life to go up and down a latter at night!, and crawling on your knees trying to make or get into a bed. you have room above your bed so you are not getting that coffin/MRI feeling. and most of all a REAL washer and dryer!!! I love your house and place, my only fear would be just how close you are to the river, living in the south we all know just how are rivers swell in the spring when the northern snows melt. This year my state, Arkansas had major flooding due to the winter snows on the Mississippi and Arkansas rivers, are you afraid of flooding??
Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind feedback, Mary! The ladder and closed-in sleeping quarters were definitely a deal breaker for me too. As for the river, the good news is that my riverbank down to the river is quite steep, so I am located above the 100 year flood plan. The river is also dam controlled, so there has not been a flood in my area since the dam was built. And I guess if all else fails, I can always hook up my home and tow it to higher and dryer ground!

Absolutely love what you've come up with for your tiny. The land it's on is perfect and my actual goal for my future tiny/property. I'd love to know more about the process you took in finding the land and getting the approval to park on it.
