Man the beat is so fucking fresh. I love the softness of the voice, The playfulness of piano, the tone of everything. It's so goddamn artistic and beautiful
Millennials wouldnt understand *glugs monster energy*
I've played this song so many times coming back from some beautiful piss ups with my friends.. Birds singing, Sun coming up and there's no walk of shame for I've done nothing to be ashamed of.
.
God Bless Bombay Bicycle Club.
i feel like some types of music just send a feeling throughout or bodies that make us feel alive and life is worth living. this is definitely one.
absolutely spot on. I discovered Bombay Bicycle Club by accident. They are brilliant and unrecognised.
Jenna Jarvis feeling you on this one
New album is out.
So fucking glad I found this song, it's been 9.5 years or so. Thank fuck I found it
Ever had those songs that you didn't know their names at first but finally found it after a million tries?
Getting what a men desires is indeed the best FUCKING feeling in the world.
One of their best videos yet! They are such a magical band, you can tell they absolutely invest all of their hearts into the music.
The sidechain compression on both the crash cymbals and tambourine gives this song its tone. It really accentuates the kick drum which makes it multi genre. Just a standard drum kit would give it a completely different sound. Love it
You really know your stuff.
Is it just me but all bombay’s songs feel like this? Just cool, soft and nothing pushy... “waits for u patiently” “if you wanna drive... i could be home by now” “can I wake u up?” “You carry me” “but I always knew u’d come”
Fucking hell I just found this song after 9 or 10 years anywhere between December 2013 to March or Spring 2015, I shed a few tears to this mentally. Haha I'm actually so shocked I found this song, I tried to remember this long I feel like Around Autumn 2014, that beat was stuck in my head for 10 years coming and going, I'd never even heard the whole song but maybe the hook in a British TV show or something, what an epic delirious song. Great listen cheers Bombay Bicycle Club, epic band
You waited for it so patiently
Congratulations guys on making a great song
The song and video complement each other really well. I'm just surprised this group isn't more well known, but whatever more for us. Hopefully they may get the recognition that they deserve someday.
+Human987 American?
+Human987 No it doesn't. The video has nothing to do with the lyrics. If I had to hear this song on the radio or on cd before watching the video, I get completely different ideas. According to the Audio It sounds like someone on the phone inviting a friend over to ride their bikes together. It has nothing to do with spaceships and malfunctioning computers
And how did they jump from the caveman to landing on the moon, without showing at least the invention of the aeroplane?
But that doesn't mean it's not a great song
+Abubakr Galant Have you never seen 2001: A Space Odyssey? You can take a look at the jump shot online.
i was the kid in the video with the afro in the 1st and second scene congrats bombay
Nice Work :)
Hey man that's sick! Props to you, how did you get into it?
+The super zay Show there were a couple kids with afros
+The super zay Show can you explain whats goin on then?
+Ebenezer Wa-kyendo watch 2001: A Space Odyssey
A very imaginative interpretation of 2001: A Space Odyssey by some young talented people. Well done.
Great song from a great band. Def see the connection with 2001. First half is about someone letting the SO finding his/her own way. IMO 2nd part is the singer imagining the regret he will feel if he just keeps waiting, so he decides to take charge. Kinda like the monolith in 2001 being sent to nudge mankind forward.
Splendid. I liked the cameos of Jack,Ed, Jaime and Surin. Cheers.
Hello James Joyce
If you are listening to this song after a very tiring day/ heartbreak or loneliness dont forget to smile. Life is too short to be spend contemplating about small things while ignoring those that makes us happy.
You are very much loved
Thank you for existing
Hope this comment finds just when you need it :")
Who you callin' James Joyce?
Bombay Bicycle Club
Best Played:
Riding my bike to school
you make me feel old
Shaun Santos Ah, mostly I have to take the bus because I'm too puffed out.
They're best played ANYTIME!
Although somehow, it's wonderful listening to them in your room gazing out the window.
I love them so much
I love this I lost it and couldn’t remember who it was by. Now I’ve found it again such a great song brings back some great memories and some bittersweet. I still really love this and play it all the time now. Thanks for the beautiful music Bombay bicycle club.
Still makes my daily listening go to list ❤
Underrated band
Accurate portrayal of the movie, and a swell tune.
Nice.
In my opinion, easily the best song they've done!
i love this song so much that i played it all the time when i was accompanying my dad when he was sick in the hospital, now that he passed away everytime i hear this song i got really nostalgic and got teary eyed all the time hahah, it's a way to remember him :)
Thank you! :)
So glad that I was able to see them play live here in MNL.
Saw you guys in Milan live. I had goosebumps all the way. Been listening to you way back in 2013 from el salvador. Finally had the chance to experience a soulful live concert. Keep uplifting our lives with your music. ❤❤
If you wanna ride, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now
If you wanna ride, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now
When the whistle blows
And we pull out slow
This is where I build my home
And I wait for you so patiently
Letting you find your own
If you wanna try, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now
But anywhere I am, tell me you're waiting for me
I could be home by now
If you wanna try, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now
If you wanna try, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now
When I am old, let the tension flee
I was born crying out and it's come back to me
When everyone else is setting up to fall
I'll just think back on it all
I'll remember long drives, sitting in the back
Looking out and endless snow,
Waiting in the silence, if you won't spill your heart,
I'll chase you for the words you owe
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
(If you wanna ride, I could be home by now)
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
(If you wanna ride, I could be home by now)
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
(If you wanna ride, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now)
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
(If you wanna ride, you can come out and see me
I could be home by now)
And you and you know and they're begging "come home"
I love this song but it's kinda bittersweet, I heard this song when I was younger and was dealing with a lot of drama and heartbreak in my life. As much as I have found memories of hearing the song and trying to find what song it was I still remained of those days.
How am I just seeing this video now?! One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite bands. ❤❤
this song and Ghost are stuck in my head ....
have you heard carry me like a deaf life and .. ?? it's sooooo amazing
So glad I got to hear them live. One of the best nights of my life.
still one of my favourite songs ever made. makes me so nostalgic
I've been trying to find this song for like 5 - 7 years by now. I saw it playing on a tv in a bali/indonesian hotel room, and it's been haunting me ever since
This video is awesome. I'm really starting to like this band more and more :)
Rebecca Figueroa Best band i've have heard in decades
Amazing video from one of my favorite movies
One of my new favourites this. Very deep.
This Song Calms Me Since I Play This Song On Rainy Days
Sick beat.
Lucy Rose though
I don't think that's Lucy Rose, they had new backing vocal that has similar voice to her..
nuthinbutnikk17 I'm 110% sure it's Lucy though! Bombay Bicycle Club's new album 'does' include a new backing vocalist named Rae Morris but she only sings in Overdone, Luna and So Long, See You Tomorrow. Lucy Rose is definitely singing additional vocals for the rest of the songs on the album...including this song. It says so in the credits part of the physical album haha. I could never mistake a voice as unique as hers!
***** You guys forgot about Liz Lawrence. I saw them live 2 days ago and they always are with Lawrence :)
Liz Lawrence only sings live for them. She is not on the album. This is definitely Lucy ❤️
yes is Lucy
This song has really grown on me ever since I heard them play it live a couple of months ago.
An incredible song. The sampling is very fitting to the songs mood and tone. I FEEL this song.

awesome woots :)
Stanley Kubrick plus Bombay Bicycle Club equals awesome!!
What do the lyrics below mean? They make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
"When I am old, let the tension flee
I was born crying out and it's come back to me
When everyone else is setting up to fall
I'll just think back on it all"
Matt Marks Babies usually cry when they are born - this is a good thing, because it means they are breathing. However, Jack here uses “birth” as a metaphor for “youth”. It’s easy for young people to get upset about things that, in the grand scheme of things, don’t really matter.Old age brings perspective - you can easily see what is really important
thats what I looked up
Matt Marks The downside of old age is, of course, knowing that you don’t have long to live. A lot of people spend their retirement essentially preparing to die, or “setting up to fall”.Contrastingly, Jack hopes to spend his retirement happily reminiscing about youth, particularly the “boring” bits, such as car rides.
and hers the bit where he says when everyone else is setting up to fall ....
Still love this a lot
2018 and still one of my faves
