I'm an 81 year old grandad and I know I don't have long left in this world. This song will be played at my funeral and I hope people remember me through the medium of my music taste. Can't understand how much Bombay Bicycle Club means to me!
@@timaalbdeiry my thoughts exactly. The Third Wheel, if you're not in this world anymore, I hope you had a beautiful funeral and know that this comment makes random strangers think of you - and gives them at least knowledge of your music taste.
this band is literally one of my favorite things in life. I have been depressed for years and every time I hear their music I forget everything. all of it. I no longer have scars on my wrists or decay on my teeth from bulimia. this band makes me so happy.
I think this video is about loosing someone. These people all sit in the same room, because they experienced the same. Someone that they loved has left them. And because we are all the same, we feel the same pain. No matter who we are or where we from. I think that's why there are the candles, and that's why the song is called Leave It. Because you have to let go. You have to let the person go and have to go on in life. Even if it's not easy, you have to leave it. That's just my opinion on this video and song. Maybe I'm completly wrong.
Definitely right everyone. And to judge the lyrics with the video with the rest of the album, one can assume it's about moving forward through the uncontrollable bad that naturally comes with life. We all have our some thing that we are hurting with, perhaps letting it hurt us more than it needs to, and so it is time to 'Leave It' behind. It is causing more harm than good to focus on it, dwell on it, and thus you have go to . . .(as the song goes) The ending with a dead person - a reminder that is where we all will be one day, so we must embrace the To Day for we for fortunate to be alive.
lyrics Don't think it's what you're afraid of Come in you know what's been made up Hold you tight, words have a new sound Reading the signs that just seep out You've got to leave it "Don't you go evade me now Come see what you've done" Each of your reasons has broken Call it off once you have spoken Filled to the top then split open Repeating over and over Now you have to leave it "Don't you go evade me now Come see what you've done I keep thinking lately how All these feelings won"
You honestly cannot compare this band. You could try compare them to Mumford and Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, etc but you honestly will struggle. The vibe is incredible. If you listen to the lyrics closely you will understand them more. I have all they're albums and unfortunately only seen them once, on my birthday. That was the best day of my life. Thank you, Bombay Bicycle Club for bringing happiness into all our lives.
trying not to cry as i sit @ work watching this..if i blink it's all over..so very touching & thought provoking.. awesome, awesome job bombay! absolutely love you! xo
Love everything about this song and the video tells such a story.... of all of us. Some things we need to move on with in life, that's what I took from this video. Take what is the most meaningful, what is truly our purpose.
Every time I listen to these guys, I think they could be the next Pink Floyd, always changing up their sound, four members throughout their history (well during Floyd's hey day), and generally well liked. Only time will tell though, who will be remembered as the the 2010's
Message of the music video: Life is short. You must let go of your fears and strive to live a meaningful life. Leave useless regrets and fear alone. Everybody goes through most of the same things and none of us will ever be “perfect” so long as we’re on earth. You’re not alone.
My guess is they are all at a funeral giving respect to someone who has passed recently and bombay are trying to show how it is possible for one person to touch the lives of so many different people from all sorts of livelihoods. Very touching video and excellent track.

Hi everyone Im from Mexico and when I came from the work to my home at radio I heard this song and I understand that you need to leave all the bad things on your soul and body :-) or try to forgot all the bad things that happen to you and continue your life in a good way no matter how your body is or the things you have done. Rgds from Mexico :-D
Always loved this song, since it came out (used to listen to a Different kind of Fix on repeat like 6 years ago) but never thought to watch the video until now. Glad I did.
they're playing at Melkweg. it's a venue off Leidseplein in the center of amsterdam. i've been waiting ages to see them perform! 'A different kind of fix' is constantly on repeat, sublime album!!
First time i hear this was at early 2012 via MTV push. Back when i was Junior High. I'm not a bright kid back then, hated maths and physics but I love art back then, and my parents are the old-school indonesian parents type of parents. I always got beat up just because I couldn't understand the basics of algebra. Found this song on MTV during my mental breakdown and it gave me the positive "fighting" vibe. (Thank God I never had a suicidal thoughts back then, just a mental breakdown). But, I'm still lazy to study and still got ass whoopin'. But then in highschool (2013), I got bored with this song. Since I got bored with my usual "anti depressant" song, in my mind I'm like "Shit, now I'm only got 2 option. Be lazy and find another uplifting-ballady type of song, or accept the fact that the reason I got my ass whooped is because I'm to lazy to care for my own self" Hence, I choose the later. Started visiting my teacher office to re-understand everything (I even re-learn how to do simple equation). Fast forward. Yesterday is my graduation day, and just received my bachelor in science (civil engineering). And I was having flashbacks and then I remember this song but forgot the title. So I searched it and boom found it. Damn, it bring tears to my eyes. The last time I cry was when I see my parents cry of joy the first time I showed them my first ever perfect score, I believe it was stoichiometry. Whenever I told my friends my story, they just didn't believe me that I was dumb as fuck back then, untill i showed them my score cards during junior high and my 1st year on senior high, that is. Wow.... You really didn't know what life will turns out to be didn't ya. I used to hate maths, now I love to use logic and solving structural problems with the help of simple matrix equation and SAP2000. That's my story. What's your story?
"Don’t you go evade me now, come see what you’ve done. I’ve been thinking lately how all these feelings won. Once you leave, never come back." Those lyrics really hurt. It makes me tear up every time.

Not just "someone" but something too.
Like a person sitting with broken arm and one with broken leg.
I think the video is people that have lost anything everyone there has lost something
I dont think youre wrong i think thats a sound interpretation of it x

lyrics
Don't think it's what you're afraid of
Come in you know what's been made up
Hold you tight, words have a new sound
Reading the signs that just seep out
You've got to leave it
"Don't you go evade me now
Come see what you've done"
Each of your reasons has broken
Call it off once you have spoken
Filled to the top then split open
Repeating over and over
Now you have to leave it
"Don't you go evade me now
Come see what you've done
I keep thinking lately how
All these feelings won"
Gives me shivers
