I have done a bunch of these heads with cnc porting and flowed them with good flow numbers. The heads need more than just bowl blending work to make high hp.
The head with just bowl work has been mid 7s in the 1/4. We do a more elaborate version of the head as well that has been 7.0x at 199. I feel the bowl work only head wouldn't have slowed it down much. The turbocharger is our primary air pump here.
I totally agree. If there is a potential to make the engine more efficient, then it's a good idea to do it. Even if it's just to fix imperfections. Glad you brought up exhaust reversion. A lot of people gasket match on the exhaust side and then run into reversion issues or it flows too good and raises the power band way too high. Great Video!!!
Good video. Over 10 years of hand porting 4g heads I now just clean the bowls. Match everything knife edge and send it. My own head is a wild max effort port +1 valves the works and now that I’m back on smaller 62mm turbo I’m likely hurting mid range.

I got like 10 heads in my garage, lmk 😅
Sick video 🤘🏼
Thank you
Hey bro, how do you determine how much to take of the seat throat with 1mm oversized valves ?
Do the math for the % or throat to valve size you want. Then cut it to the diameter that meets your target %.
What is the best one 1g or 2g head if you can tell us
They are both very capable. Really application depended.
