I want to say I am 95% sure that the beginning riff from sweet child o mine was also a practice riff. I saw a video about it a long time ago where slash mentions it. But this song is a great exercise for your fingers and picking.

I've only heard him make a mistake twice -
1) He made one while playing edge of desire (Live at the Hollywood Bowl) and that too only because he had an SG and not a Strat .
2) Covered in Rain (Any given Thursday ) , the note that I thought was wrong (in the songs solo) has now become a staple for guitarists , like Hendrix , his mistakes are now being imitated .
As a guitarist and singer song writer , I am waiting for his new album release , I'm sure that it will be awesome !

You’ll get there dude. Try to loop the riff and sing one note. After you get that, sing two notes etc. After a while you’ll get it, it’s just practice!
