This is fun listening to John talk, play, and just hang out like this. Very cool John. The internet is amazing like this. We can sit here and listen to a world class player and hang out with him, which we could have never done 15 years ago.

As an acoustic player, an intermediate one at best, I find it fascinating the freedom the bending provides. It seems a sleppery slope for a novice like me because whenever I try to bend my results are mixed. This deep understanding that he can instantly transcribe and execute physically...its such a rare gift. Mix that with creativity, the ability to sing, oversized hands that incorporate the thumb with ease...a rare talent. Thanks John!

      Conrad
I would say he is 'obsessed' with music, thats why he is so good! Just listen and appreciate him sharing his amazing chops, how can anybody not be inspired listening to this!?
As for his character/personality traits, i accept what i see right in front of me on the video. Personally i think he is an intelligent, interesting and likeable person who i would make time to listen to, seeing that i like his music and really admire his tasteful playing.
At least we get to make our own decision of judgement by what we see direct on this media platform rather than the bullshit picture the 'obsessed' mainstream media tries to paint him!
He is one of the best musician/songwriters of this generation! Appreciate and enjoy him in this unadulterated, pure artistic platform!

Definitely a chill relaxed guy. Pretty cool he inspired me to get into guitar a few years ago, and have learned (not mastered) some of his songs. What is neat is that he owned a house in Montana near Bozeman or Yellowstone Montana which is the state where I was born. Much respect for Mr. Mayer, and his passion for music is inspiring. You can always tell a real player. A real player could give a shit about who they are. They are into the sound they are making and the folks that guided them there. Well done.
