Thanks for coming to the rescue! I just couldn’t remember how to do the 2nd knot! Everything came back. I learned it a bit different, but like your way better! Thanks a million❣️
Awesome job. I have been searching and searching UA-cam to try to find somebody that can explain how to do the surgeons not that's not crazy complicated. You did it so well and thank you so much I was able to learn how to do it so quickly
Thanks so much for this video. It sure helps a lot. I never could never do these methods of joining. I just made a regular knot. This works much better! Everything was shown vividly and explained succinctly. Very good video.
Thank you for sharing these methods Both are different to what my Nanna taught me all those years ago when I was still learning But we never stop learning do we Love it when we women folk share our knowledge with each other 🐝💕
I have been looking for a join that wasn't bulky for a very long time (I started crocheting at 11 and am now 49). All this time I have most just made longer ends and crocheted through my stitches as I went. These days I'm much more skilled and am using much finer yarns, this will surely help my progress! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Everyone learning how to crochet or knit should learn these techniques at the very beginning. I wish I had known these at the beginning because my old projects would not have loose ends sticking out from places where I wove them in.
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm a beginner level knitter & always feel nervous joining new yarn to a project as I worry the knots may become loose/unravel. I've seen many videos for knots & your 2nd method is my favorite. I feel very secure my project won't unravel! You explain how to do each technique in a manner I can easily understand & you sound so upbeat & encouraging & I appreciate that! Thank you!
Nice video. I used to knot like this and have since changed to doing a Russian join. It's more time consuming, but I don't like a knot showing - seems like it always ends up on the right side of the outfit where I don't want to see it. Great illustration.
This was a great tutorial. I have been crocheting for 50 years and i had never seen either of these before. Your explanation and demonstration were perfect. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have now used both of these methods due to the different project or yarn type. They both worked like a charm. You made something that can sometimes be confusing (especially for newbies) very understandable and doable. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for sharing method #2! I love it and it's so easy! I just added my 2nd roll of new yarn to my baby blanket I am making using this method! It seems like it would really hold up!! Thanks again!!!
The second one is a square knot. I learned square knots about 50 years ago in Girl Scouts. There's a simple way to remember it. It goes like this: 1. Right over left and under 2. Left over right and under 3. Pull tight. Done.
Oh, thank you for this video! It really helped me. I made a mermaid tail afghan for my granddaughter and had a time with securing the new balls of yarn because it had modal in the mix.
I always come back to this video when I need to join two pieces of yarn, I can't seem to ever remember how to do it. Thank you for such a clear explanation :)
Hello there ;) Just wanted to extend my thank you for a really well explained video. I am very impressed with both methods. I just applied method #2 and I am amazed by how invisible it is. Again thank you so much ;)
I love this method, and I love your explanation of it. You sound so kind and reassuring...it makes me settle down and think, "Yes. I can do this easily!" I only knit and don't crochet (except for little flowers to decorate things) but you make me want to crochet too. Thank you so much for this lovely lesson.
That was the BEST tutorial I watched so far. The closeup was great. Very well explained. Fantastic. Both methods are great. I learnt so much from you. Thanks for sharing and caring. 👍👍👍💕
With the 2nd knot, do you cut the ends close to the knot or do you have to weave them in or crochet over them? I tried cutting the ends, but the knot failed every time, even though it was made correctly. It appears to be a simple reef knot which is designed to come undone if you move both pieces toward each other which would happen easily with normal movement and washing etc. I do really like it though and think I would use that but also leave ends to sew or crochet over at the very least.
Up to you..but i cut them off as it wont loosen the knot as its a double one but if you prefer to weave them in thats ok. Whatever works best for you..
You asked 2 years ago, she answered 1 year ago... I'd not recommend this video 20 years ago 😕why the heck it just came into my suggested videos today, I'm clueless... That knot is still the best, but not the best video these days.. And I haven't a clue why it's in suggestion video tingly....
Thank you! Now to unravel the blanket I'm working on because I couldn't stand how bad my joins were. I'm knitting, but it should work just as well (I can't croquet for the life of me - I've tried)
Thank you very much for this video. Quick question .... once I have created the knot can I assume that I cut off the loose remaining ends of the yarn? Sorry for the question but I new to knitting. Thank you!
Thank you so very, very much for this lesson! All I have watched is the first one and it worked so well just now! I'll go ahead and watch the rest in case I ever need it. You explained this so well! You are a good teacher!!!
This is great but what do when in middle of like a double crochet stitch and ur working yarn is on hook making a double crochet stitch and then you run out of yarn .. how do u join the new ball then ?
GIRL!!!! I like the way you explain this!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!
This is the best and easiest explanation of the invisible knot I have seen. Thank you!
Perfect, this was the easiest knots I've ever attemped, very easy to understand. Thank You
Finally I understand how to join. Method 2 was awesome. So easy to understand. Thanks you are the best.
This was the best method I have found for the same invisible knot!
EXCELLENT! Thanks so much for sharing!Great demo! Very clear! The best one I have seen for adding threads.
Thanks for coming to the rescue! I just couldn’t remember how to do the 2nd knot! Everything came back. I learned it a bit different, but like your way better! Thanks a million❣️
Thank you so much! You take it slow and steady! Great video!
Thank your for tutorial. I especially love the second option for my personal choice in joining the two yarns.
Thank you for your step-by-step instructions. Very helpful for someone visual like me. Ciao.
Awesome job. I have been searching and searching UA-cam to try to find somebody that can explain how to do the surgeons not that's not crazy complicated. You did it so well and thank you so much I was able to learn how to do it so quickly
Wow that is the most detailed step by step instruction. You're an amazing teacher. Thank you 😊 💓
Thanks so much for this video. It sure helps a lot. I never could never do these methods of joining. I just made a regular knot. This works much better! Everything was shown vividly and explained succinctly. Very good video.

Thank you this is easier than others I have tried.
Your did a great job of explaining the join. Thank you so much!!!

So cool! I've crocheted for years and have never known how to add yarn without a big ass knot! Thanks for the info.
Dude, why u swear?
Thank you for the silky join!!
The first one is easiest. Thank you for this. 🥰
Thank you! Everyone learning how to crochet or knit should learn these techniques at the very beginning. I wish I had known these at the beginning because my old projects would not have loose ends sticking out from places where I wove them in.
Wow love your video.I have been trying for years to find a better way to change or add more yarn when I am crocheting.Thank you so much for sharing.
What a nice voice and very good video. Thank you!
This was such a big help connecting the new spool of nylon crochet thread. Thank you so much!
Best technique for this ever! Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm a beginner level knitter & always feel nervous joining new yarn to a project as I worry the knots may become loose/unravel. Great video with easy to follow instructions and demonstration. Thanks. I actually did it. I'm a new crocheter.
Can I cut the tails off either side of the knots, or do I try and crochet them in? Many thanks for your help! 💕x
Hello Barbara, yes, you can cut them as closed as you wish
Loved your explanation and your accent, very sweet. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, this has been the best explanation I’ve run across. Already used it and it is completely invisible and no bulk at all.
Nice video. I used to knot like this and have since changed to doing a Russian join. It's more time consuming, but I don't like a knot showing - seems like it always ends up on the right side of the outfit where I don't want to see it. Great illustration.
Brilliant, simple and clear instructions. Thank you.
Absolutely the clearest explanation of joining that I've seen - thank you so much!
This was a great tutorial. I have been crocheting for 50 years and i had never seen either of these before. Your explanation and demonstration were perfect. Thank you.
Thank you for this excellent demonstration. It worked very well for me.
I really like the way you made the 2nd knot. Very clever and easier than tutorials I have watched. Thank you.

Thank you for this great lesson!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have now used both of these methods due to the different project or yarn type. They both worked like a charm. You made something that can sometimes be confusing (especially for newbies) very understandable and doable. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I hate weaving in ends and am always afraid my work will fall apart. I like the second technique much better!! Thank you!!
Very great and easily understood explanation! Thank you!
It goes like this:
1. Right over left and under
2. Left over right and under
3. Pull tight. Done.
I tried the same type of knot, deferent approach. Always forget how. This one grew on me right away. Thank you and thank you for your time
Oh, thank you for this video! It really helped me. I made a mermaid tail afghan for my granddaughter and had a time with securing the new balls of yarn because it had modal in the mix.
Beautifully explained! Thank you!
Wow! This is so neat! Thank you big time. Both methods are nice but I definitely prefer method #2. Again thank you kindly ;)
I always come back to this video when I need to join two pieces of yarn, I can't seem to ever remember how to do it. Thank you for such a clear explanation :)
Thank you so much for such a wonderful video!! It was super easy to follow and understand! I have difficulty with other videos,
I always use the magic knot but to be honest I’m afraid it will come undone. The second method is awesome! I’m definitely going to try that
Hello there ;)

Its too confusing for me,I started double crochet I’m new and I need to join a new skein
Very helpful. Thank you! 💚
Thanks for the clear explanation! :)
Thank you! Now to unravel the blanket I'm working on because I couldn't stand how bad my joins were. I'm knitting, but it should work just as well (I can't croquet for the life of me - I've tried)
Is it safe to cut the ends close to the knot in the second method?
Thank you for this! I'm going to try it now, I'll probably have to watch a few more time!
Thank you very much for this video. Quick question .... once I have created the knot can I assume that

Perfect explanation! Thank u so much!!
Very nice presentation. Thx
This is great but what do when in middle of like a double crochet stitch and ur working yarn is on hook making a double crochet stitch and then you run out of yarn .. how do u join the new ball then ?
You, unfortunatrly, will need to take back some of the work to give you enough to tie the knot.
fantastic! thank you!
Nicely demonstrated. I find the second knot is not as bulky 😊.
Thank you so much awsum.
Thank you! Love both methods.
Thank you. It helps a lot.
nice mam
