Yarn Color Change with NO WEAVING IN ENDS! (Tutorial)

  • I wanted to show you all how I change my colors to avoid weaving in ends. This makes my blanket-making life SO much easier! I have never had a knot come undone/be reported undone by a client. Make sure you test all your knots before moving on to make sure they don't come apart. You want to be sure the finished product holds up safely for your intended recipient! :)
    I have the link to the person who I adapted my method from as well as my original video with an additional demonstration of how to make the knot if this isn't clear enough.

    Okay fellow crocheters. THIS is the best crochet hack I have ever seen! I will play around with it until I perfect it and will use this every time I have to change colors here on out. I have seen it done but NOT this way. Thanks so much for sharing with with me! ❤😊

    Yarn tails are work of the devil. I’d rather have dental work than weave them in. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years and this is the most helpful tip I’ve ever learned. You ROCK!

    Hello. I'm 64 and been crocheting ever since I can remember. I use to tie a knot in the end till I seen this. Fantastic way to hide the joining. Thank you so much.

    Oh my goodness, thank you! I’m doing a pattern where I have to change color at the end of every row & thought there must be a better way than having to weave in 100s of ends. You’ve saved my sanity!

      If you're changing color after each row, it's simpler to just drop the old yarn and pick up the new one. No knots and no cutting of the yarn!

    Weaving in ends & swapping between colors has been one of the banes of my existence. This seems like a really great method & I’m excited to try it! I’m just wondering if you do ever have issues with the knots coming undone & what you could do if that happens. Seems like without any extra tail to work with, you’d be sort of screwed if the knots loosened.

    • @kelleystrange
      @kelleystrange  4 роки тому +1

      I've never personally had any knots come our or had any reports of knots coming out. If it is going to work it's way out, it should do so with your couple of tugs. The only yarn I can think of that may be difficult to secure would be a silky or slippery yarn.

    I saw this video and you made it seem so easy. I have a work in progress where there are a lot of color changes and lots of ends. I'm looking for suggestions on this knot. I have been trying it for over an hour and 47 knots, so far, and have only had one that didn't pull out immediately. I would love to get some suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. I have my laptop on my lap and go step by step with you. It is so frustrating. Grrrr. Any suggestions why my knots pull out like that. The one that worked, looked great but I have not been able to repeat it. Thanks for your help.

    As soon as I get the knot done, I give it a tug and color A comes right out of the knot so it isn't tying them together. I have tried 10 times and it just isn't working. I tried it first without a swatch and it worked, with the swatch it won't work 😢

I always wondered if it would make that big a difference other than the tension? Sometimes when I only have a bit of yarn I wonder if I should try it?
