That is so wonderful. I’m 82 years old and have never seen this before. Been crocheting since I was 8 yrs. thank you so much
Thank you, great to hear it was useful! You have been crocheting for quite some time!
@@TuulaMaaria i have been crocheting since i eas 8 years old but i have never seen it done like that before great.
That’s wonderful that you still enjoy crocheting! Bless your heart!!
❤️
CAN I BE YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER 🥺
I see your video is 7 years old, It saved me today, thank you for all your wonderful tips. 😊❤
Lovely! I have 2 newer videos about this but UA-cam keeps showing the oldest one 😊
This is the first time I’ve seen this method. Total game changer for me. Thank you!
Good to hear - yes, it is very handy!
I know your video says this won’t work with bulky yarn but right now I’m making a scarf with Wool Ease Thick and Quick weight 6 super bulky yarn, and this method actually worked like a charm. Very happy I came across this video. Thank you!
Oh right, that's good to know! I have used that yarn, it probably works because it is quite soft. But I haven't tried with it, thank you for letting me know! 💙
This is brilliant. Why did I not learn this 35 years ago?
Better now than never :)
After so many years crocheting 🧶 finally a simple way to join a yarn. No more knots 🪢. Ty for sharing 🥰❤️🙏
Wonderful!
Thank you, as someone that's learnt everything I know about crocheting from youtube, it's nice to see someone pass on the helpful tips.
That's great, yes, UA-cam is great for tips! Have you seen my 10 tips video? There might be something on it you haven't seen yet! 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/TtOTAiFVfmc/v-deo.html
GREAT instructions! How could I not think of this after Crocheting for 40-50 years! LOVE it! Thank you so much for great video!
Thank you! Yes, it is very simple! I don't remember anymore where I learned this from but it does save a lot of time and bother!
Even though this was posted a few years ago, I'd like to thank you for posting, I've struggled with joining yarn for a while and this has made it so much easier and much much neater, thank you very much.
Thank you! I do have a newer, improved version of that old video, on it I stress more to overlap the yarns long enough. ua-cam.com/video/RdZrJtn7Hdg/v-deo.html
I'm a 76 yrs old beginner from Cape Town South Africa.
Hello, it's great to start a new hobby at any age 😊 Greetings from Finland!
OMG this is genius! my mind is blown. THANK YOU
Even with a fairly thick yarn, this technique is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I feel so accomplished now 😂😂😂
Lovely! 😊
Like Jeaneane, I have also been crocheting a long time. I'm now 64 and have never seen this before! I will be using this method for my knitting as well, it will save having to sew in all those ends. Just goes to show you never stop learning!
So glad to hear you found this as a new tip! Yes, there is always new to learn, no matter how long you have been crocheting 🙂 I also use this in knitting too.
wow thank you so very much for showing us this how much better our projects are going to be now.
Love you God Bless 😊❤
So easy and nicer than weaving in or doing a knot. I’m a beginner at crocheting and love this method !! THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
That's great 😊
This is the simplest and best joining of new yarn that I have seen.
Weaving is what I don't like the most when I do my projects. This is awesome! I can't wait to try it.
Wonderful!
Thank you, I'm new to crocheting. For my first project, I'm making a small throw blanket for my grandma. I was nervous about learning how to move onto another skein, but you make this look simple!
Wonderful!
According to UA-cam, your video was made 6 yrs ago. I have been crocheting a lot longer than that, and never knew how to do this. I thank you very much for your tutorial.
Yes, it's 6 years old but still gets hundreds of views every day! It is great that there is always new to learn no matter how long we have been crocheting!
Same here. My question to you Tulia now is once you cut the ends, it WON'T unravel??
@@susanvampressqueencolvin4721 You need to make sure to overlap the yarns enough, the they don’t. I have a couple of newer videos about this and on them I talk about this more but UA-cam keeps pushing the old one to viewers!
@@TuulaMaaria thanks tuula 🥰
Who knew!? What a great tip, thank you, Tuula!
Great 😊
Absolutely genius! I SO hate feeling the knots! Thank you so much for this awesome tip; I can't wait to try it on a project that I am currently working on.
Happy to hear it was useful 😊
I just started crochet and am so glad there is a trick like this. It is similar to adding thread when tatting. Thank you for a clear and simple video to follow.
Glad it was helpful!
This is fantastic, thank you this is so simple and looks so much neater. Brilliant.
I'm not sure how many youtube videos I have gone through trying to find an "easy" way to attach the yarns together. Thank you so much for this "super easy" way.
That's great :)
Omg what a beautiful way to join and no lumps or knots. Thanks
Great, isn't it handy!
and it will make my projects less messy looking. Thankyou again.
This trick has changed my life I hate weaving in ends!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very glad to hear :)
Wonderful video. Short sweet and too the point. And most of all very helpful. I appreciate u not over explaining it and trying to show us how to do this like we are complete idiots and need it explained to us in too many overly confusing little steps. This was a wonderful and effective video to teach me what I was looking for. And u didn’t waste 20 minutes of my time teaching me something that can be taught in two. I appreciate u.
Thank you, that is great to hear! Yes, I try not to have anything unnecessary in my videos!
I can’t wait to try this. I’m making my first blanket and this seems like the easiest method to pick up and the blending of the two yarns looks so seamless!
Great! Make sure you overlap the yarns enough, this older video doesn't stress that as much as the newer one of the same! ua-cam.com/video/RdZrJtn7Hdg/v-deo.html
This is perfect! I love scrappy projects and hate weaving in the ends. Thank you.
That's great!
I’m making my first crochet blanket for my first granddaughter and Ihave a wonderful friend guiding me. When I needed to start second and third skeins of yarn, your method is what I used.
I was able to do and am grateful for your tutorial. Thank you!
Wonderful! Congratulations on the first granddaughter! 💗
Never knew this. Thank you!!
This is easiest mathod I have ever seen how to joining yarn...thanks for sharing...
Thank you so very much for this! This is exactly what I needed for my project!
I am going to try this when I have to add a new skein in the blanket I am making now. Looks like a winner!
How cool & nifty is that?? I think that *THIS* is by far my *FAVORITE* way of joining yarn FLAWLESSLY!!! *THANK YOU THANK YOU!!*
This is the best ( and easiest ) way I’ve seen to add yarn into a piece of work... Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!!!
I wish I could hold my yarn like you do, I probably wouldn't have finger cramps...lol thank you for the video...
TY, this is my favorite way to change colors or join another ball of yarn. It is like a Russian join without a needle. I love it!
Thank you! True, it's like the Russian join without a needle!
This is encouraging for people like me who forget how to do the harder ways.
This is truly the best color change join I’ve seen ever! I’m slowly working my way back into crocheting after three years of not making anything and dealing with my broken body and rehabilitation. So, thank you so much for sharing and I’m now your biggest fan! I look forward to watching all of your video lessons!
Thank you, great to hear! Enjoy all the crochet you will be doing :)
most direct and concise video. Thank you!
Great to hear, thank you!
Thank you! So much easier than a Russian join. Will use this all the time now.
Thanks for sharing this easy method.
Love this. I always worry that the yarn will unravel but this looks secure. Thank you!
That is so cool! When I first learned to crochet I just tied the ends together. Then I learned the proper way to change yarn, but it was always so tedious because you have to be very very careful to cut the right piece of yarn and you also have to weave in the ends. This way is so much easier! Thank you!
Thank you! Yes, this saves a lot of time :)
I agree with Peggy that the color change is such a great idea. This is just so easy and it looks great.
Thanks, yes, it is handy :)
I looked at a few ways to join yarn, but your method is by far the best and so simple thank you very much Tuula.
You've changed everything for me! Watching your videos make me love crochet more and more. I'm a knitter and so crochet reluctantly but your little tips and tricks here and there (of which I've tried almost all) make me enjoy crocheting just as much
That's lovely to hear! Great to know the videos have been useful and you enjoy crochet too :)
Thank you so much for this! I’m working on a project with double crochets and am getting close to the end of my first skein. This showed how to incorporate the new skein perfectly!
Wonderful!
I really like this the best and it weaves in most of the extra yarn also. Thank you!
Glad you find it useful :)
Thank you so much. I've been crocheting for 30 years and I didn't know about this. You are so sweet to show us.
Thank you! Yes, there is always something to learn 😊
That is so easy! Thank you for showing us.
This is a wonderful tip. Thank you.
Great tip on how to add new yarn! I have to show this to my sister because she and I crochet a lot of blankets!
Yes, this saves you time in making blankets :)
I wish I had seen your video before I started my blanket! I have already joined two skeins of yarn and they don't look as flawless. I am going to use your method from now on! Thank you so much!
Yes, you can use this method for the next blanket! All the best!
So clever, much ,better than tying wool together which can make ugly knits in the work. Thank-you for your excellent tip.💗
So glad you made this. Just sorry it took me so long to find it. Thank you!
Fantastic.I have been crocheting for over 40 years never seen this method before. Thank You for sharing this...
Thank you, great to hear that it was useful! I find all the time that I keep learning new things even though I have crocheted for over 50 years 😊
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING US THIS METHOD!!!!!
Oh wow!!! This is brilliant!!! Thank you!!!
So glad I saw this, thank you!
I think it’s the best method for joining old yarn to new one. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Glad you find it useful, yes, it does work great :)
I may have already commented, but I keep coming back to your video anytime I need to change skeins! Thank you so very much for sharing
I've done something similar (to avoid a knot) and it works well. And as you've said, as long as the yarn is long enough, it should be ok after washings. If it's too short it will eventually come out.
Thanks for the tip! Had searched joining yarn and this didn't come up in top results then but it came up as a suggested vid a few days later.
Ok, that's great, UA-cam remembers what you have been searching for!
WOW! Thanks for sharing! I wish I would've known about this about 30 years ago when I did a queen size bed spread from scraps. I never did cut the ties. Have a blessed day!
You can use this technique for your next large bedspread! Have a great day!
This is brilliant! I am fairly new to crochet & find this method much easier than any other I have seen. Thank you so much for sharing this technique !
I'm glad you like it! Enjoy crochet!
Thank you doing this video. As an old dog, I like learning new tricks. I've been trying and trying and trying to perfect the "surgeon's knot." Now I can stop trying and cussing and being frustrated. I will now be using this much easier method. Thank you
Great to hear! Yes, this is much easier when you work on yarns that aren't very heavy. Happy crocheting 🙂
This is amazing , I'm absoutely beginner , learning crochets from youtube . 😍👏🏻
Wonderful!
Thank you this very useful. Makes the new yarn seamless a join.
What a great way to join yarn. Thank you for this wonderful tip.
Genius!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! 🙂
Dude I got so mad I cried when I tried anyone else's methods. Yours however, I managed in less than five minutes and it worked, so, thank you
That's wonderful to hear! 😊
Thank you for sharing this method. Appreciate it very much!! It's very helpful.
✨This was so seamless thank you so so much!✨
What a brilliant idea! Thank you so much for sharing!! I haven’t been able to crochet for years because of swelling in my hands it was just too painful! My dr put me on a new medication and it’s made such a HUGE change for me! I am doing so many things that I use to love and crochet was top on my list!
So happy to hear you are able to crochet again!
Thank you. Thats really simple.
I tried it in extra extended sc.... And it works... Thank you for such a nice tip
Great, thank you, glad it works for you!
This is amazing!! Thank you so much for upping this beginners crocheting abilities!!
This is brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!
This is absolutely genius! I can't believe I haven't heard of this method before. I normally avoid projects with frequent colour changes but not any more 😊😊Thank you so much for sharing 💕
Great to hear! Yes, I was so pleased to learn this as well, many years ago now but I had been crocheting for a very long time before that!
I’m knitting a blanket and had to join my yarn. I just joined my yarn using your method. It worked great! Thx.
Great to hear, thank you!
Thank you for taking time to show such a time saver plus looks great.
Your instructions are right to the point, much appreciated! 😊
Thank you, great to hear! 😀
Thank you, that works great and becomes almost invisible - way better than the other videos I have seen where people tied a knot. With this way I can unravel if needed - thanks 😀
Yes, it works well, as long as the yarn isn't too heavy. And true, no problem unravelling!
Wow! Thank you so much. I can't wait to try your method which is so much faster and easier than the Russian join I've been doing.
Yes, definitely faster than the Russian join, it is very slow! Although this only works with fine or medium yarn but for those it's great :)
This is great Tuula! Thank you so much. ❤
This......is......PERFECT!!!!
Brilliant!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you! This is perfect for my scrap Afghan project. Bless you!
oh my gosh, thankyou so very much for showing this. im new to crocheting and this is the best that ive seen. again thankyou
I'm glad you found it useful! I use it myself wherever possible because weaving in yarn ends is much more work!
This works great and is so easy. Thank you for sharing this.
Great to hear!
Thank you soo much I’m a new crocheter and I’m working on a blanket, and I so needed to see this video thank you so much. Although my yarn is different colors throughout , it also helped me out making sure I got the right colors crocheted in. Thank you
Thank you, that's great! 😊
Best idea I've seen yet. Thanks for sharing!
Have been crocheting 40+ years haven’t seen this before thank you so much!!
