I have noticed when Griffin is in his walker *just* how wonderful he walks! Oh my goodness, he just fly’s around with all that freedom, it’s just wonderful to see. I think with more time & your perseverance mamma, he could definitely walk !! However, I love his new ride, it makes total sense to get one until that day comes, but also so his little legs don’t get tired. I know you guys like to go for walks in the summer & this will be perfect for Griffin. He’s a beautiful little boy & a true blessing to watch 🥰 xx
Laura Williams I agree! He is going to walk in his own one day. We have a friend with Angelmans and he is walking now by himself at 3. But when they need to fo somewhere, and take long walks, the wheelchair is auch a great option!
Michelle Marshall Absolutely! As someone who isn’t able bodied myself, I don’t see wheelchairs & other pieces of equipment as ‘permanent’, just as ‘tools’ we need to help us get by, be more independent & to enjoy our days out etc! Never a need to think little Griffin will be in it all the time, & how wonderful to hear your friends little one is up & walking, that truly is so lovely to hear. I just know Griffin will do it in his own time, he has so much more confidence now with that walker ☺️❤️
I’ve stayed subscribed but I haven’t watched videos in months, probably half a year or more. I remember the process of diagnosing and the grief and hurt you were going through and to see you in this video, happy and confident and accepting. It’s amazing.
My 7yo is a full time wheelchair user (he has spina bifida and cannot stand or walk). They are a great ticket to freedom. A few thoughts: 1. Find videos of kids or people using wheelchairs themselves so he can see them in action. 2. Put one of his older siblings in and let them help you show Griffin how to use the wheels, by doing it themself. He will become interested and learn with practice. 3. Have him play in it every day for a bit so he has time to figure out how to propel himself. When you are out, you push him. Then, in a year or two when you really want him to have some independence with it he will already have had a lot of time to figure it out. Also, Hot wheels has two wheelchairs toys, one silver, one green. Fun to play with. And look up Aaron Fotheringham on UA-cam. He does cool stunts and skate park fun in a wheelchair.
I am so glad that 1) you want Griffin to strive to achieve as much independence as possible! 2) you are finally getting access to the equipment Griffin needs!
Jumper said it all , his got this ! . He has come on leaps and this will help him continue to keep strengthening his muscles and improving. You are wonderful parents. He is loved and happy just like the rest of your children. I hope you see how incredible you are doing. I don’t know how you manage it all and still make and edit videos 😳 my hat comes off to you both . I think you’re awesome.
Yay! I think these devices will be a game changer as Griffin grows and becomes more independent! He is just precious! Thanks for sharing! Hugs from West Texas!
We have exactly the same one by the looks a zippy zone? Our daughter will use the wheels if the arm rests are off so I only put them on when we are pushing her.
I am sooo glad you guys have received some devices for Griffin he really needs. I am sure all of this is really new to you and a big adjustment. You are such a sweet and caring Mom. One day at a time 🙏🏻💗😊
I love Griffin’s new wheelchair and seat. When the vlog was over and your music came on I realized how much I missed your music when you didn’t vlog for awhile. Love you guys and look forward to your next vlog to see what the kids are doing. Have a great day!
Awesome Emily!! And I think aiming for independence is a no brainer because you and Will know him so well you know he’ll probably be able to move the chair himself eventually cause he is smart(thanks to his loving and attentive parents).I’m so glad you have the chair great for him and you,I know it sounds silly but I’m so excited about the things that have become available to you so that your family can all go out and all be together and enjoy time out and about.Go Griffin you’re an awesome little man!!!🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈You guys rock too😊👍
Yay!! That is so exciting. I'm so happy for Griffin. The chair seat will be amazing at restaurants. Is he still pushing himself away from the kitchen table? Do you still bungee cord the chair?
I just love him I love that chair I wish I could be as happy as he is all day long you are such a good mommy hope you guys are having a blessed day till the next time
I haven't watched y'all in a long while, but that is a RAD ride you got him! He'll get used to it with time, I'm sure. :) I'm special needs myself (a rare genetic disorder called CHARGE syndrome - look it up), and this video brings me back to when I was little and needed special devices! I never had to use a wheelchair, but I had to wear a fanny pack every time I walked bc poor balance (which I still have, but it's a lot better than 30 years ago thanks to PT), and I had to use a helmet just to play outside. Good Bless this family!
Griffin is truly an amazing child he is the sweetest and cutest lil boy and I hope nothing but the best for him in his future and you are an amazing mother the things u have gotten thrown at bad or good u always do ur best they are truly lucky to have U as a mother best channel on UA-cam !!!!!!
that’s a awesome wheelchair I think it’s good to have a wheelchair for him for safety reasons even though he can walk with a walker or someone holding onto him he’s a awesome smart boy
