Thank you for this clear tutorial for a lovely edge. As a variation, I put the first of my three single crochet stitches in the last space of the previous shell. I tried both ways and found this gave a tighter finish that I was looking for. I too wished for extra instruction for corners please.
I am finishing this border now on a corner to corner cr blanket for our Grand Annabella...she ask for the blanket to be pink with lavender touches. It is amazing how much this lovely border added to this blankets overall appeal! I am so pleased with it...expecially as it is very time consuming. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Elizabeth.
I love this border. Thank you so much for this wonderful border. I am making shawls for some lovely ladies in a nursing home and I don't put fringe as they get stuck in the wheels of their wheelchairs. The washers at these nursing homes are commercial grade and wreck the fringe work. This border would be perfect. Again thank you. God Bless.
For a beginner like myself this was great! I'm just getting into crocheting and to know I can add in borders after stitching the blanket is awesome. I'm a knitter, and I'm becoming obsessed with crochet
You are the BEST!!! You're the easiest to understand of all!!! Thank you so much for being VERY detailed!!! And not too fast!!! You're my FAVORITE!!! I can actually do the shell now. Thanks to you❣️ I will totally subscribe to yours!!!
What a super fun border! Just added in mint green to a white star stitch washcloth and it came out beautiful! Thank you for your good, clear instruction. Can't wait to use it on a blanket.
Great instructions!!!!! Thank you for going right into the instructions instead of telling us about your nail polish, your baby screaming in the background, why your dog or cat is sleeping in the background etc.
Yes, exactly! I'm glad you take care of yourself, but I really don't care if you're nail polish matches today's yarn. I also like how she doesn't needlessly repeat herself.
So wanted to make a laugh out loud emoji for this comment. Sometimes we need details, say for example for pattern, but stitches we don't need all that waffle.
I'm making a moon themed blanket for my grandson that's due in a month. This border came the closest I could find to being like tiny moons. Thank you for sharing it with us.
It looks beautiful! just have one question for you: how do you do corners? Do you do double shell with one or two stitches in between to create corner?
i was looking everywhere on youtube for the perfect border to finish my baby blanket. your tutorial is easy to follow and the border came out stunning! thank you so much!
thank you so much from Australia, this is a really easy to understand tutorial for what looks to be a complicated stitch. the effect is quite stunning. the blanket my friends and i crotcheted for a new grand baby was a little narrow so this stitch helped it bulk out a bit as its quite a wide border. Again thank you!
Gorgeous! You explained it perfectly, so easy to understand. I found a written pattern and got really confused. You made it simple to understand. By the way, if you didn't change the speed on the video, I've never seen anybody crochet so fast!
Hi, you can change the speed in Settings. I do this all the time. Go to the settings (gear wheel), click on speed, then choose the speed. Hope this helps!
I am getting ready to do this edging on the baby blanket I am just about finish with. The pattern for the blanket I am making is the Crystal Wave stitch. Love your video!!
Thank you for such a great and easy to follow tutorial. I just speed crocheted a baby blanket for my mom's friend in two days and was looking for a nice border for it. I saw this tutorial and took a gamble and decided to try it out. It looks so pretty but I am crying right now because I just ran out of yarn I have about 1/4 of the blanket left to edge :'( This pattern sure does eat up yarn...lol...but i still love it! Will run to the shop tomorrow for more yarn.
May I ask, what are your base stitches before you start the shells? Thanks! I love your patterns and tutorials. I made the coed cardigan for my friend's husband. It looked great!
Thank you for demonstrating this beautiful border. I have been looking for something new to try for a queen size blanket border. I think I have hit the jackpot with this edging. I can’t wait to try it.
I have used this border to finish off a blanket. I have hard not before. I was wondering if you have any ideas as to keeping the shells in the right position. I have to always fix them. I have tried a loose stitch and even tried tightening my stitch. But can not get it to lay like it should with out having to make them lay right. Thank you so much for you time.
Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful border, I have just made my first c2c and followed your tutorial on doing sc and chain 2, do I need to do another round of sc before doing the shell as your’s seem to be a lot closer together in this video. If I do another round of sc do I just do them into the chain 2 spaces and tops of the sc stitches without putting in any chain stitches this time or how would I do it? I am new to crocheting so any advice would be welcome. Thanks
@@HeartHookHome Is there a video of the first round of single crochet that you did on your c2c before you start this beautiful border please.? Hi, love this one but have a vouple questions: 1 your base ( in my case blanket) needs to have multiple of 3 amount of stitches right? 2 how do you do corners?
When completing the last shell, where do you slip stitch into the front of your first shell to get it to sit right? Is it into the top of the shell, or one of the dc loops at the bottom? Thanks
Hi Wendy! You will be slip stitching into the front of the base of that 1st shell...I show where to do that at about the 6:10 minute mark of this video. Hope this helps!
I really love this crochet border. I’m currently working on this particular one. But for some reason the shells are curling inwards. What am I doing wrong? I really love this crochet border, but for some reason it is not working out for me. :(
These instructions were awesome! I love how you show us more than once and don’t speed your way through. You actually teach us, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
