Well done....you beat me to it. Only one thing I would say is dont file down the back of key blade, file the front side with groove. If you file the back you are making the goove weaker and can be a breaking point.

@AlexHusTech well looks like I'm gonna have to buy a cover for mine then as its falling to bits. Thought this DIY solution would sort it oh well atleast £20 down the drain rather than £120
Hey! I did this a while back and a few weeks later but buttons stopped opening the car, but the lights would still blink? any idea s to why this might happen?
@@AlexHusTech i put in a fresh battery when i swapped, the buttons worked for a while but then pooped out. should i try a new battery even though it lights up? could it just be a crappy battery

I'm using the first key as my main, no issues, the silver one is as a spare.
Will this work from audi key to that new one?
VAG cars normally share their keys so if it's the same one then it will, if not then I don't know.
