I question where her mom is. She lives with mom, not dad, so it’s mom’s influence Judge Simpson should have looked at. I don’t hate on younger generations just because they’re younger (solid Gen X here), but this attitude is way too prevalent in a certain age group right now. I don’t default to “respect your elders” - that’s ridiculous when you look at what previous generations left us. But I do believe in respect and that no longer seems to be the default attitude of too many.

I think in part it had something to do with the dad saying that he had no idea what was going on because she lived with her mom. Judge recognized that mom may be the enabler. I'm glad the judge did this because so many times when our young people come from broken homes, blame solely lands on the father, when in many times, it's simply not the case. The mother keeps the father from being an active participant in the child's upbringing. My husband and myself have lived this first hand with his daughter (my step-daughter). Her mother hated my husband more than she loved her own daughter to allow him to be involved in her life. Parental Alienation at its finest.

I am not looking for cool points from people I do not know. I do not even seek them from my own family. I am unsure of where you go or with whom you interact but there is a general decline in decency, respect, and proper decorum. In my interactions, thus my typed original opinion, I find my own statement to be true. You may not agree with it but this is my perspective. I don't need numbers to tell me what I can see with my own eyes. Further, this may be a more peaceful time, as borne out by statistical data from FBI, but peace does not equal dignity, respect, and self worth. To have dignity, self worth and respect for oneself - in this case - would have been to comply with the original order and not get an attitude with someone who is clearly trying to help you.

For all you know that "mean judge" took one look at you and figured out the right method to use to motivate you into changing your attitude and actions which according to you did the trick, although we have no real evidence of that, however the girl in this video, who we can see with our own eyes, is clearly disrespectful to authority, barely able to put a coherent sentence together, and is sorely in need of some tough love. With the way she's started, if something doesn't drastically change, she's sure to fail probation, and end up serving A full sentence.
