I would puncture a whole at the entrance side to attach fishingline to.
This way they get pulled towards the closed cap and not wedged between the 2 bottle parts.

I just watched a similar shrimp trap that was uploaded about ten (10) years ago. I think it was July, 2nd-ish, 2008.
He used a single Gatorade bottle, with it sitting upright (bottle bottom) on the substrate.
Yeah, his shrimp trap is definitely not multipurpose, seaworthy, like yours.
And you have, way too many shrimps. I'm so, so envious... :'○ | :D

Marks Shrimp Tanks Pretty good Mark, still no shrimp in the tank, really just enjoying watching my plants grow for now. I had a little bit of melt on a new plant I added so I put in a little carbon and it seems to have stabilized, even got a little new growth on it too c:

Nice. One question though. Couldn't the tread be on the other side? thinking that the water will drain out when u take it out cap end first? With the tread on other side u dont ned to put your hand in and turn the bottle. Used a similar trap för catching pleco babies. Didn't work. They were to smart to go in :)
I dont mind getting my hand wet and its easy to let them go again this way

no I definitely wouldn't leave them in this for a long time
I tried this method 1 week ago and I only managed to trap around 100 snails an a baby shrimp haha I've no luck with these. I ended up scooping all my shrimp with small colanders.
Next time I go to the sea I am going to try it.
Already applied, works fine. but all of my shrimps die in the bottle lol xD cause my fault i falling a sleep over night xD
