Today I got an order of shrimp in from a big company. It was my first time ordering shrimp online and getting them delivered at my door! Sadly they were all quite clear and only males, even though I ordered 6 (I don't care for coloration much since I just like to have shrimp in my tank, but breeding them would have been nice) It's nice to see that you put so much thought and effort into this and think about the people you are sending them to! It's also super interesting to see the process. Keep it up Mark!

Too many sellers only sell males. This way you will have to keep buying them

Marks Shrimp Tanks Some Cherry and Blue Dream shrimp. They have colored up a little bit now so they look better. But still a little bummed about them all being males!
Great video! I was on vacation and was tempted to get some shrimp from a breeder. Thanks to your video I was able to ship them home safely since I couldn't bring them on the plane!

it was some danish company but that was years ago I no longer ship shrimp at all now.

I know how much care goes into packing as I've been an Ebay seller off and on. Even more obviously goes in for living organisms and you make it look so easy. Thanks for the packing tips!

I have no doubt your packing works, but I'm amazed that enough air gets to the breather bags and the heat pack with all of that paper. Do your heat packs have a line on them? If so, does it matter if the line is up or down in the box?
You can actually breath through paper if you had to so thats not an issue, and yes there is a purpose to the red line it has holes in it to let the pack breath and your not meant to block them, again wrapping in newspaper isnt an issue because its not airtight anyways the manufacturers more or less mean dont the red line of the pack against the side of the box.great questions by the way :)

Hi Mark! May I ask if you use the water from the tank for packaging or completely different water like remineralized RO or Distilled water?
Tank water is what you want to use.

what is your temperature range as to when you stop shipping shrimp? Thanks Mark.
for me its a constant 15c , once it gets below this I stop shipping, at this time of year though I am waiting for it to heat up to a regular 15c to start shipping, I dont plan to use heatpacks at all this year.

I know this is a year old, but if you happen to see this: What age/size shrimp is best to ship? Do younger ones handle the transition better or doesn’t it matter? How small/young is *too* small/young? Thanks for your help!

Polystyrene box, the name is in a different language here in Norway
Best to starve than for a day or two.. moss instead of mesh is good too.

yes they do, the bags they are shipped in allow oxygen exchange, they are called breather bags.

Nice tips! So no need to have any oxygen trapped in the bag? Oh! The breather bags take care of that as well as expell ammonia. How nice! And yeah, I was pretty upset when I got an order and they were all young females...talk about a waste of money. I was pissed. When I contacted the seller, they just said they catch what they catch and good luck with what you get. Alot of money down the drain if I didnt spend MORE money hoping to buy males. Their quality was very nice but I was very upset at their lack of care for what the customer receives. I wish I could order from you, but being in the states....😢

Lithuania, i can find them to buy here, but they are about 50 L, so i searched in amazon, but it doesn't ship most of the products to LT
U better use plastic bags without corners, they have to be round. It's better for the shrimps by releasing out of the bags!
Never lost a shrimp Bob shipping it with the bags the way I do.
