Finally found time to get “little sister” running again! Merchandise is nearly gone: www.thejax.tv Weekly podcast @steadyatthewheel Inquiries: shum.jax.info@gmail.com
I love farm/family videos and it's great to see Rooster 😊 It would be nice to see Wendy again too! It's been a long time since we had a good ole' family adventure! I'm looking forward to the album too 😁👍
Your channel is quite diverse, which also makes it never boring! Plus I can live my younger years trucking, feeding cattle, and pulling calves vicariously through you. We used straw to bed our cows and calves if we had to bring them in during calving season. Is that the first calf of the year? What a little beauty! Is it a little bull calf or heifer? It’s so wonderful to see all the kiddos helping out and learning life lessons and a good work ethic. Kudos to you and Haeli (please let me know if I am spelling her name wrong). Good to see Rooster also! Ohh an album finally!! How exciting! God bless you all and keep you safe ❤️🙏
Nice rig I love cabovers. Used to drive cabovers for over 40yrs since I was 18 in 1977. However, love the long wheelbase, I love to see long wheelbases on big rigs, especially on cabovers a and duel stacks and twin breathers. I also prefer the old chrome 13 and 18 spd knows in the shifter stick. I still have my old chrome T shifter Handel for the spliter for 13 & 18spd spliter chrome knob assembly. Anyway take care of the old girl. AND HAPPY TRUCKING
You have first hand experience why there isn’t diesel flavored candy…thanks for your video, sometimes I feel like i’m the only one that has to fix the something….before I can fix the original problem.
Not as glamorous as NASCAR,but very interesting.I’m retired now,but I started my driving career in 1976 in Pontypool South Wales. My first job was collecting milk churns from local farms and delivering to a local chocolate factory. So your video reminded me of where I started and how resourceful farmers are.
I will have to say you are one cool country boy and have a wonderful family. Jax you and my youngest son are the same age . He was raised on a small family farm. GET- R- DONE from North Carolina.
The best fuel lines are 5/8 air line and 1/2 return. And the easy way to get fuel in the lines is to put air in the fuel tank it makes it start quicker.
Max take a old or new rubber diaphragm from brake chamber, put small hole in it,use your air compressor and feed air to tanks pushing fuel to motor, crack fuel lines to get sir out, thus no use of liquid sunshine in a can !
My first truck was a 95 freightliner COE, old yellow freight truck painted galaxy blue. Was the nicest riding & shifting Cabover I ever drove growing up.
Great video! Love that you explain truck repairs so "regular" people can understand it. Yeah Little Sis is back in action! Enjoying the Nascar so cool! And the Album! Busy, busy, busy! You take care and thanks for sharing! ❤
Jax I love the cabover I have a buddy who farms 2700 acres we took a old road tractor and stretched it with a 26ft box an 72 sides with tips I'd haul 550 bushel to the elevator and run 70 with more ta go I never took it there loved that truck so comfortable. You got a classic.👍🇺🇸🤙
Good morning ❤ Glad your slowly warming up ,way up there 👆 we had a decent dumping of snow on the mountain 2 days ago but it’s gone today… it’s definitely autumn weather here, the days and night are matching yours (for now !!) Super happy little sister is back up and running and the barn is now toasty warm for the mama cows … Awww what a cutie pie baby calf and even more perfect that’s it’s a heifer Congratulations on the record music deal thingy 🎶 Have a fantastic week with the cars❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@realwildwildwest I just found your youtube stuff. I wish I could bring my CXU Mack over there. You move a variety of trailers. I have 40-plus years in this game and am tired of the BS brokers and the flakey companies Russians hid behind. Mike!!
You made me go out and kick start the 2007 Argosy CABOVER can't do much just had back fusion surgery thanks for the video gives me something to pass the time
Well my short peckered friend i think you leave out the best things on your videos. Im not a hater my friend. I honestly believe you have so much awesome videos to show but just saying i think you are leaving out the best parts of what viewers want to see. Love you brother and great to see roosters.
Smart thinking on your part, for those reasons you mentioned. Also because if they're poor when they get pregnant, then about the time they calve. They're going to drop down in weight, because the calves are pulling some much from them, because everything they're eating goes straight into producing milk for their babies. So they take forever to catch back up, and sometimes you have to skip a year breeding program to allow for that to happen. Yes Sir fighting the drought here in Texas too, but hopefully with the huge amount of rainfall we've had since the end of last year will bring the water back up, thus letting the grasses rejuvenate themselves too. That's yet to be seen, but one has to be positive.
When I did big truck road service I kept a "refrigeration - in line sight glass" to chase down the loss prime problem. They can be very hard to find. Penske was a big customer of mine and one of their service managers showed that trick.
ENJOYED THE VIDEO! Nice to see the kids and Rooster, Jax putting everyone to work. 😉 You got several things accomplished in one day good for you! I cant seem to get 1 thing done😭🥴🤣! Be Safe! Keep Your Head Up! 👍 🐄 🐓 🚛
Love them cabovers. Nice to see things on the ranch going well. Really cool to hear James is doing good. You will have to us know where to buy the album, when you know. Have fun in Austin. Thanks for sharing
Welcome to Texas, I live in the DFW area. I enjoy your hard work, brother. Rooster and I (the older the gentleman) should get together and discuss how to get our daughters to let us slow down.
Glad to hear album update. I hope it takes off! Thank you. Wonder if I'm older than Rooster. I think i am! That's a scary thought! Haha Your mom an dad look great. This cold weather gets to me too.
It's great to see you giving that motor little wifs of either instead of flooding it like I've seen done before! Thats a nice setup with the walking floor. What is little sister's wheel base? Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks man. I can’t remember off hand what the wheel base is. Not as long as it looks.. with the short bunk and being a cabover. I’ll have to measure it sometime.
I think you passed me on 59/20 East the other night. I was cruising at 72 and I think you went by me at 75MPH. It was maybe 2AM. Funny thing is, I live in Austin. Was on my way too.
Special feeling when you do your own maintenance. Funny how the elation when it all works is equal to the disappointment when you give it everything you have to find out late at night and you are by yourself that there are still things needing to be fixed :>(.
We should keep a eye on this case and if they win there law suit against the driver and his company we all strike this is a strike that even the big carriers will take part in
Not good that fuel line rubbing on the pvc air line it looked like. If my engine didn't have a primer system on it I would start mine with starter fluid and let the engine pull the fuel up into the engine and let the motor prime the lines. You have to be careful with starter fluid because it washed the oil off the cylinder walls if you use too much. little squirts is all you are supposed to use and once the motor starts just little shots to keep it running. So you do not scorch the cylinder walls with the rings on the pistons.
Hydraulic hose is a bad idea for fuel lines, it will get you by in a pinch, but the rubber is not designed for fuel so the diesel can break down the hose prematurely and you can suck chunks of rubber into your fuel system damaging your pump and injectors.
We ll see how they do. Got several thumbs up for use with diesel… but you never know till you know. There’s two filters ahead of the pump, so chunks of debris would never reach the pump, but I’ll keep an eye on that first filter and see if I ever start noticing anything
Hi. OK, I see you had to replace a cab latch at the rear. Have you had any trouble with the hinges at the front of the cab? Thanks, Take Care. P.S. Nice to see you have your thinking caps on for the beef management.
I'm no mechanic, mind you, but what if you have a T-junction (with valves) in one (or more) places a long the fuel line, so you manually can attach a device to the fuel-system to "pump" fuel from the tank up to the T-junction. I have similar (but backwards) system to pump sea-water out of my boat.
Great video on doing your own maintenance it has to be fulfilling! I am curious how the sawdust was coming out of the back of the trailer I know you said it was hydraulic but what displaces the sawdust out of the trailer what moves it?
I did a video last year on putting sawdust down, i think I showed up close how the trailer works. If you can’t find it, look up walking floor trailer on UA-cam.
Ektech I believe is the brand. It was given to me by a guy who sold me a different truck many years ago. Not sure if they make anything like it anymore. If not, you can look into getting a laptop 💻 with Cummins insite. That’s my next move coming up.
Sorry to comment on an older vid, but do you know make/model for the bull bar on that thing? I have the same truck and need some better protection for it...
They were covered before and they wouldn’t lay in them 🤷🏼♂️. Wierd, so we removed the top board when we cleaned. decided to try the open top for a bit and see if it changed their minds at all. Got any other tips to get them to lay in the box?
@@realwildwildwest yes I do have oneore trick. Wooden eggs. Use to place them it the box just one or two here and there. Sorta like a training aid for the young hens.
When you said you was getting woodchips, I was expecting landscaping woodchips. What you got was sawdust. LOL
I love farm/family videos and it's great to see Rooster 😊

Pressurize the fuel tank to help prime the system; or install a boost pump at the bottom of the tank and you will never have this problem again.
just use ether
Pressurize the fuel tank.
Hey Jax at timestamp 8:29 I am so glad to hear that James is doing good
Pressurize the tanks and use WD 40 with your starting fluid, it's easier on the motor, enjoy your videos. Thanks
You have first hand experience why there isn’t diesel flavored candy…thanks for your video, sometimes I feel like i’m the only one that has to fix the something….before I can fix the original problem.

The best fuel lines are 5/8 air line and 1/2 return. And the easy way to get fuel in the lines is to put air in the fuel tank it makes it start quicker.
They thought they had the hard plastic airline, but when I got to town turns out they didn’t. :(
I run air lines for fuel lines on my trucks a lot cheaper than rubber lines.
Max take a old or new rubber diaphragm from brake chamber, put small hole in it,use your air compressor and feed air to tanks pushing fuel to motor, crack fuel lines to get sir out, thus no use of liquid sunshine in a can !
Hi as for as the cows your on the right track, As for NASCAR you may be on to something BIG $$$, Subs, Sponsors. Keep On Truckin'
My first truck was a 95 freightliner COE, old yellow freight truck painted galaxy blue. Was the nicest riding & shifting Cabover I ever drove growing up.
most cabovers shift like garbage because of the linkage
Glad you got your truck fixed and was able to get the sawdust. I was wondering about the calves. I hope all is going well for the family. God bless!
If you get a airhose and put it in the tank and seal it off with a rag it will push the fuel into the filter
Good thinking! I’ll have to try that next time!

Well cowboy let's getter done and be pokey more later .
We added a bypass line with a electric lift pump to prime up the fuel system but you did ok great video thanks jax

Pressurize the fuel tanks, won’t have to mess with starting fluid
DD tech told me if the key is on and no check engine light then the ECM has no power. Supposedly works on more than just DD

I buy 12volt fuel car pump, connect to fuel line, and canister which diesel, pumper fuel to all systems, and start.
I get excited about the music . I was asking when you was in the studio about the album . CAN'T WAIT !
