I'm always looking for old classic semi trucks to save and restore. I'm also always looking for trucks or parts Detroit Diesel related. If you have one that needs to be saved or you know of one you can drop me an email at the following address: Ol2Stroker@gmail.com
Be sure to check out our website ol2stroker.com for truck parts and merch!
“I should have chose a different fscking profession.” I can relate to that entirely. Suffered through a few years in a hot shop turning wrenches on other people’s junk, then decided it wasn’t for me. Midwest summers suck, Midwest winters suck. The datacenter I work in is 68 degrees year round and I absolutely love my job.
👌👌
And it ain't really his profession, it's his Obsession!
Makes this stuff he does to show us even sweeter.
@@goratgo1970 not gonna lie… it’s such a sweet sweet obsession. I have beyond zero use for heavy equipment or big trucks, but if I could get my dick beaters on an old Pete with even an 8v71 screamin’ jimmy…. I cannot tell you how much I would enjoy rowing through gears on that turd. Don’t care what anyone says about Detroits, they’re to me the best sounding combustion engine made has ever made.
@@elesjuan Yup, used to hear the dirty D echo all the years growing up since the log trucks went by the house coming off the ridge in NoCal Sierras.
Your categorical knowledge of cut scene videos is impressive. Clearly a man of culture with the awesome farts! Never gets old! 👍
🤣🤣🤣 thanks man
I was NOT prepared to see the business end of a rhino or hippo. My wife thought I was having a stroke I was laughing so hard. I needed that. Thanks!
😁😁🤟🤟
Ol 29 is the quintessential NorCal coastal truck.
As a NorCal owner/op, truck nut, logging industry guy, I hate to see it leave our area. It couldn’t have gone to a much better home though! Look forward to seeing you chip away at her! Keep up the good work, Wayne👌🏼
Thanks Scott really appreciate that. I can't wait to get it looking proper
Agreed, hate to see it go away but more hate to see rotting away over the fence from pickn pull 🙏
Gotta hand it to you, brother. The hippo editing was spot on.😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Personally I thought the Rhino was a bit more spot on......
Tape off the radiator inlets. Dam mice love to make nests in them.
Good old Von Ark Drayage! I drove for them back in the '70's!! Should have got the old '49 Pete w/300 Cummins and an iron lung!!
The external air to truck . Is great to find small leaks .
I remember when Ranger Danger came to the school I went to for an assembly years ago. It's pretty cool you remember and use his videos in your video.
No way!!! Ha that's awesome!!
Hi it looks like the engine bell housing has a few cracks in her. One at the starter mount and above the starter where the bell housing meets the engine block. I changed many of them to cast iron it was a lot more durable than the cast aluminum .
I said to myself while watching this, "He probably has a couple few 12V71s laying around that he could stab into that rig...", because if anyone out there is genius/clinically insane enough to have multiples of an engine weighing two tons capable of powering a friggin ocean going ship, a locomotive, or a generator that can power up a small city just "laying around", it would be Wayne, haha.
Got 4 of em actually 😁😁😁
@@Ol2Stroker - Hahaha, oh shit! I was halfway kidding but hell yes of course you do! That's awesome! So many just get busted up as scrap and sent to China or wherever.
My hands hurt just watching. I replaced a toe link on my car in the snow last week and it took all day. You pretty much got a motor out haha.
How amazing it turns over
Cab mounts settled - would cause cab to hit compressor. But then, BW has/had multiple angles of layover compressors. I assume you received the right head , plus other ship-loose parts . Another good detailed video with step by step descriptions of unique features on this rig . NOT a "cookie cutter" !
I’m with ya on the color! That’s a looker, and it looks even better on the ground!!! 🩵🩵🩵🤍
Wise move in removing the hood before pulling that massive V-12.
Yea the poor hoods seen enough abuse already lol
Most watching this couldn't imagine how much hard work that really is🎉😂
Wayne, you're a goddamn genius - Gonna have the FINEST Classic 12 pack Petes!!! What a pair Sir!
Keep hoping the weather ain't messin' witcha too much there (Seattle area here) and that conventional
color reminds me of the Timber truck company I grew up near in NoCal called "Robinson Timber".
I hope I can find an old Detroit to fix up I would even be happy with a small one from an old generator or something I love those old two strokes
Pretty cool Wayne i would stay with flange air comp. Nice it has double lower raditor neck cools better !!
That would be my dream truck as well. Have a 359 with a big cam, 9 spd. But I am a detroit lover at heart as well. Have a 66 Intl loadstar with a 6-71 also. All junk to play with like you, not working trucks.
Junk loves company!
Good job
Wayne 👍👍👍
I used to drive “sweet sixteen” an orange and white long hood Pete with a C model cat and an 18 speed, love the old iron, keep up the good work!
Watching closely on this one. Take care.
Entertaining as always Wayne!! Thanks for another cool Detroit filled video!!
My grandfather actually drove Old School trucks my father learned from him and I carry on the tradition hand tools in toughness this video I really appreciate thank you keep up with good work
Instead of the montage song i was thinking more along the lines of mollie hatchet flirting with disaster lol
I lived right down the street from where that truck was built in Newark CA, I could have seen it on its shakedown drive as they drove every one of them in the industrial park near the Plant . It has all the right things to make me a new Sub , 75 Pete , 12V 71 Detroit and it was a Log truck in CA , looking forward to these videos .
Uncle Wayno a nother great show 👏 can't wait for the next one
It's nice the old rig has the twin counter shaft main and auxiliary boxes, they were pretty tuff in their day.
I sure hope so. We're gonna test em
I was out in my shop and pulled out my old Spicer binders. I thought I had some manuals for the gear boxes in your Pete. From seeing the bell housing on the main box I figured it to be a S.S.T 1062 or 1263. I didn't get to see the auxiliary trans but with a 1271 I would hope it was a 1241. I have the service and parts manuals for the main and parts manual for the 1241 they are yours if they are the correct ones. @@Ol2Stroker
@@davidanderson2393 yessir they are the right ones. Its an sst6 (1263) main and a 1241d aux.
@@Ol2Stroker most of the log trucks ran a 1241 C ( off road ) the 1241 D is a road box ( on hwy ) .
Goddamn I love it when ol'2stroker actually works on a 2 stroke. Merry Christmas and happy New Year, Wayne!
Me too!!
Love this truck alot waynehope all is well an ur stayn warm.
Tryin!!
Love this truck so much. Paint that block, polish those heads, and man that'll be eye candy for a guy!
I've got some ideas
What a sweet old truck. Looking forward to seeing it back together and running down the road. Thanks for the videos, Wayne.
Ok... with this Peter you have my attention. Best wishes, Wayne. Hopefully she likes the attention as much as I enjoy watching her come back. What a sweet ride, and *the baby blue blonde paint job. Dream truck indeed!
✌️😎
You're the best Wayne brother , you never cease to amaze me with your knuckle smashing Detroit content 😅 👍
Hi Wayne, my appreciation of old Pete's just goes up every time I see you mucking around with one. I'd have thought no way it's going to turn. Strange setup with the clutch. Okie dokie thanks again for your time mate and I hope you and your family have a great year. See you next time.
Thanks man you too!
That cab over needs some stacks. She would sound good. 😊
Think you're open fitting on the air bag was for a suspension load gauge in the cab
Ooooooo good thinking i bet you're right
Oh boy I wish I was in the machine shop with that boat anchor so I could bring it back to life
maybe that that line on the bag was for a air scale ?
The Ranger Danger clip was funny.
Dude ranger danger was hilarious when i was growing up, you must be local too 🤟
Yup. Live in the Berkshires
@@shauncooper9650 im so glad someone else remembers that shit 🤟🤟🤟
they sounded so cool back in the day. drove two trucks with 8v71
Even though the Hood air assist opener did not work I think that is cool I wish when I was driving I had that on any of the Trucks my co drivers always made fun of me being 120 and struggle ing to open and gently close the hood among other things were weighting more helps out
Its tough they're heavy!!
I put on my safety squints when he plugged that line and air pressure started building in the air bags and all those lines...
What a chore getting that old taken out. Good luck getting everything taken apart. Just out of curiosity have you ever seen Werner Enterprises Freightliner with the V-16in it? It’s a beautiful truck. It’s on here. Just look up Werner Enterprises V-16. Well good luck brother. Have a great week.
great work love this truck, hate colour, are u going to rwe firb engine bay etc,re spray, what was engine that came out and whats going in?❤
Hey Wayne could you go into more detail about the service block and lack serial numbers and how finds parts without on said numbers
It should've had the original number stamped into it when it was installed but they didn't do it for whatever reason, probably in a rush to go to work.
I've always wondered if since they still make 6-71 blowers but with better rotors if an old 2 stroke could be updated with them? Just more efficient blowers would help performance a lot.
Great video Wayne glad to see old 29 getting some love. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
In Massachusetts and saw you the other day working on Pete and now this project. Feel you.
They always look twice as big out of truck😂 thats one monster hunk of metal. Like 4 Honda fits😂 love it
What a cool truck
Watching that oil drain out reminds me of myself after a hard night of drinking.
Wane awesome looking 75 PETE it's in great shape and in good condition I love peterbeilts
Thanks me too
I love the Vids on this truck so much!
Awesome! Are you going to fix that engine and put it back in? And the tommy boy line was great.
You'll see 😁
@@Ol2Stroker lol your killin me smalls
I was waiting for the one cable/line that got missed as pulled the motor!
Nice old Pete shure would love to see twins and at least 95 injectors 😂 but hey wanyne I'll be happy to see it running agin brother ,cheers❤
Very much looking forward to this, thanks for sharing. Do you have the parts etc that are missing? Maybe if you don’t peeps can start looking for you to help out a brother.
Yeeeessss!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally I been Patiently waiting on this video for a while now
Hey Wayne, nice truck man, we mostly got British trucks in new zealand back then, what sort of hp would she of been putting down?
Can’t wait to see you tear into this engine, I have so many questions. Do you know the part number off the flywheel yet?? I’m looking for one 😅
Hahahahaha rhino poop scene. You kill me wayne. 😂
Cracking video Wayne, that 75 Pete has a stunning colour, also that farting shit spitting Hippo had me in stitches man, keep up the great work. 🇬🇧
I can't believe it turned either!! High praise for hippos!!! I'm a f'n softy too, but I bet you clot in seconds when you rip yourself like I do! Not that I'm working on REAL trucks, but it doesn't take much when you're not lookin' . 🤬 Happy new year, Wayno!!
That engine mount deal is like when I pulled the old cab off of my Dentside - I removed the rear mount bolts, and forgot to remove the front mount bolts, but it didn't matter. I was intending to remove them before lifting, but it really wasn't that important.
I would have been so tempted to cut those fan belts!
I probably should've!
Hi Wayne all the way from Yorkshire England the look cool I think it would look cool as a rubber duck out of the flim convoy I know it's not the proper truck
Hi Wayne from Yorkshire England v12 no turbo just supercharged want the horse power I like the colour want are you putting back in
I am a new Subscriber, This is one of my Favorite Channels, I have learn a lot from you. Your quite the Mechanic. I watch Diesel Creek once and they have no clue what they are doing. Big Joke if you ask me. I love Peterbilt trucks but have not driven one! The truck I drive Is a Freightliner Coronado with a 550 Detroit Diesel 18 speed. I love the truck. 44 rears! I haul Hazardous waste. I watch Hamilton Farm quite often, those 2 guys are quite Funny. I like Wiley. James Pretty is pretty good Mechanic. But so far your the best. Looking for a daily driver to drive back and forth to work. Maybe a old Cabover or a Peterbilt that is a relic. Wish you were my Mechanic, I work so my hours a week, no time to work on anything.
not even sure why i keep watching these...ill never work on one of these engines. Its entertaining as hell though
Love the south park reference
0:05 That sound reminds me of the intro to that song by Van Halen - Hot for Teacher
So wants the plan for that engine? Are you going big on HP?
Mr. Wayne, you register your rigs as "antiques"? If so, ever get any flak for pulling a trailer/hauling your own junk?
Wayne--what is your position on drilled holes thru the ends of forklift tines? I was noticing the bessy clamps
Wont hurt nothin im just fuckin lazy 🤣🤣
Ha Wayne . Maybe one day you will learn that your hands aint hammers . LOL ... Is that a crack in the bell housing above the starter mount ??
Back to the 12 cylinders, love it!...on a side note, this is definitely the most disgusting video yet🤢😂
Wayne, they moved
Thanks man 🤣🤣
Have you seen Werners 1999 freightliner classic with the v16 92 it's nice
I have its really nice
Hey Wayne! What do you do for a day job? Do you drive trucks, work on trucks or is this just a hobby?
I don’t remember seeing a video saying what it is you do.
Thanks.
Have fun with those trucks!
Think he's computer programmer or something with computers..this is just a bad habit
Yea im a computer nerd by day. This is my crack.
Awesome. I would never have guessed that😂. Thanks for bringing us along, Wayno
Pulled the rad hose I was thinking what no water in it till 23:51 yep it had water in it lol
Be nice when you get a C18 Cat in that 75 Pete
I was working on my junk. Till i seen you had a new video.
So I'll watch a few minutes. Then back to my junk. 😅
I'm also wondering how many people check their phones for a text message everytime your phone goes off.
Bahhaahahah it even gets me while im editing 🤣🤣🤣
@Ol2Stroker 😂😂
It took me a moment to realize what you responded to. 😂
It caught me a time or two and my phone is always on vibrate. 🤣

@@Ol2Stroker Yep. 🤣🤣
Lol "YOU NEED A MONTAGE!!!!" TEAM AMERICA BABYYYYYYYY
Hellow Wayne good luck buddy
Thanks 👍
Time to do some sketchy shit.. Do Da....Then realize i was having a few beers ..And now really need to rethink ...
Great job..always better to take hood off...
Where did you find that beauty??
How’s that song go again “we’re about to do some sketchy shit”? 😂
Hi Wayne. You gonna rebuild that engine or do you have other plans?
Out of curiosity why did Detroit run their belts for the accessory components at the back of the blocks and not up from like CAT or Cummins? I always thought that was like for a specific truck like a cab over or bus, but it seems like even conventional‘s have belts on the back of the blocks.
Why not ? Gear drive accessories eliminate belts .
Most drivers will never enjoy that sound while driving one of those rigs.
Were any 12V92 Detroits built or installed in trucks?
Not over the road trucks. There was a few prototypes
No they were not. 12V-92’s were certified for genset and industrial applications. The 12V-71 was produced and installed in trucks during 1965-1977.
Ahoy there! What if you and ur truck is Skibidi Toilet?😂😂 Skibidi toilet memes and vids are soooo weird! All trucks look like Skibidi Toilet then theres a gang of skibidi toilets
Im curious so i found a old 6613 off a 8v71 and id like to put it on my 6v53t how can i find a clutch and pressure plate for it!? Ive only ordered parts for the new dd13s but never for 6v53ts
On a v92 where is liner protrusion measured? Since the top of the liner is not flat is it measured at the point closest to the block deck.?
Correct
Awesome thanks so much…The channel is great! Love the content!
I’m rebuilding one of Two V92s in a boat at the Gulf
@@markflynfloat6779 thanks man!
Looks like the 1980 Pete is not there anymore. Did you sell it?
Do you mean the CAT truck? He moved it.....
Yes, the CAT 3408, I would love to see it restored
Such a pretty girl this one :-) NOICE!!😎👍👍
Hey Wayne; have you ever had the idea of putting an old school 8V71,8V92TA Silver Series,or a 12V71 "Common Rail" two stroke screamin' Detroit in a modern truck;like say a Peterbilt 389?.I know it sounds sacreligeous to be doing that;but I think that it would be "different & unique" as nobody to my knowledge has ever done that kind of engine swap in a modern truck before, and who knows;you very well could be the first one to do it,if you were to ever decide to go through with it.
Edit: It turns out that Werner Enterprises had already done such an engine swap in a modern truck already;they heavily modified a 1999 Freightliner Classic XL to accomodate a 12V92TA Silver Series engine according to @WilliamSmith8808's and Ol2Stroker's comments.
, yur absolutely 💯 % correct
